Popular Post DuckSwimmer
Just a friendly heads up about this update, which is currently live so if others get their hands on early copies, you’ll be able to play everything. It is about 36gb and it’s needed in order to play Spyro 2 and 3. Edited November 8, 2018 by DuckSwimmer
Popular Post Afro_Gear
Thanks for the PSA, but fuck Activision. I cancelled my preorder when I found all 3 games won't be on the disc. Then they delay and I get some hope, but still, no change. Complete garbage if you ask me. Defeats the whole purpose of a physical copy. I'll stick with my PS1 copies on my PS3 for now.
Popular Post Quink666
So there is still only 1 game on disc, even after the delay? WTF?! Why would you buy it physically if you are forced to download 66% of the content... Some really poor decision making there. No reason to even release a physical version imo. Thanks for the heads up.
Popular Post Undead Wolf
So the delay changed nothing regarding that stupid decision that forces owners of the physical version to download games 2 & 3 then. Like I said at the time this was found out, I won't be purchasing this game on day one like I originally planned to. I'll wait until it's much cheaper. It's a shame because I'm sure they're going to be good remakes, but I'm not comfortable supporting something like this.

Because there's been info released lately where people have, you know, asked Toys For Bob, where they ask about this and confirm that most of 2 and 3 are on the disc. Heck, look at this video for one, based upon said info that 2 and 3 are mostly on the disc (only needing a patch for the rest of the levels), you can easily see how big it would be in the end: Logical deduction would be that the patch would only be about 5 or so GB, not 30 or so.

In order for the full Reignited Trilogy offerings, a day one update is required." - https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/10/29/activision-clarifies-spyro-reignited-trilogy-download-requirements Yes, that's what I'm getting at, 2 and 3 are on the disc, not fully though, so said patch is for the rest of the games, not for all of 2 and 3.

Same, still getting it this Tuesday, however... if that 36GB patch is actually the correct size and now said, 5 or so GB... then my friend wont wont to get the game. Since it's new, not sure how long really. I live in NZ, so we wont really have any of these Black Friday deals or whatever the Americans have, so that sort of price drop, I would be unaware of. I personally am getting Darksiders 3 as I love that franchise and want to support THQNordic to reward them for their IP acquisition, but if you are a big Spyro fan I get it.
Popular Post Asvinia
If it's not 100% on the disc there's no point in buying the physical. I want to be able to pop the disc in my PS4 in another 20 years and still be able to play it, just like I do the originals without having to worry about whether I can still play the game that I paid for. Had it all been on the disc I would've bought it day one, but since it isn't, I'll wait and buy a cheap preowned copy in a year or so. I don't think it's even an issue with size, it's just a rush to push it out the door because money. It wouldn't cost much for them to put it on two discs. The update size itself does put me off a bit though.

Shit i totally forgot Darksiders 3 is coming this month. Platted Darksiders 1 & 2 so will definitely get Darksiders 3. Might wait for a sale on Spyro then.

And with what I was sharing with said video with the image for about 55GB needed, then I assume that either there's about 50GB or so on disc and the trilogy is very big. Ah well, I'm not too fussed, I can play through the first game and have that download in the background. Sucks though as that means my friend wont wont to get it then :/

Make it 2 discs insetad of 1. This means that along time from now when server potentially are down or if you take you PS4 to a place without internet connection you can't play the full games. It's so incredibly stupid. The point of physical games is that you should be able to play them in full from disc without needing a connection. Hopefully other developers don't start with this.

Why would they make a second disk for only 5GB, Only 10% of the disk would be used It’s only $2 to duplicate Blu-rays, but they have to make like over million copies. lets just say Spyro sells 4 mil like crash did, it would cost $4,000,000 extra dollars for only 5 GB even if you have awful internet, play spyro 1 during the day and put you PS4 on standby and download the patch overnightstop being a baby a grow up. its just a minor inconvenience

Popular Post Rhevarr
Stop crying kids. God damn it's horrible to read. You buy a game for the game and not because the disk. Simply play Spyro 1 while it Downloads. It still saves 20 GB of Download and you can still sell the game after you Completed it. "when I found all 3 games won't be on the disc". You do realize a dual layered blu-ray disc will hold only 50-55gb worth of data, correct? Well I guess the games are so kick a-- and had so much effort put into them that they are beyond that single disc. Toys for Bob also stated that the delay was for polishing and making the trilogy near perfect. 7 hours ago, Undead Wolf said: So the delay changed nothing regarding that stupid decision that forces owners of the physical version to download games 2 & 3 then. The update size itself does put me off a bit though. Let's get this straight. So, You want to play the games 20 years from now. So, You will only buy it used. Do you think buying it used is going to fix that? Do you actually realize how much hard work went into making these games because I don't think you do. Would you rather they half a--ed the games just to fit them on a single disc? Buying games used doesn't support the developers and in this case Toys for Bob at all and they put a lot of hard work into bringing these games out. Keep in mind this is not a full retail priced game and at 40 USD for 3 legendary games rebuilt from the ground up is worth it in my book. 6 hours ago, Conker said: Thats one big update i didn't see coming, still won't be getting it until a sale, fuck Activison and there dirty ways. can do Crash right but not Spyro just not good enough. personally it be better owning it on PS1 then PS4, since least there all fully playable without internet.... ACTIVISION and their dirty ways? You realize Toys for Bob made these games correct? Do you realize that Toys for Bob didn't have the original code and developed SpyroScope from the ground up? You do realize that this game is far bigger then Crash is? Have you played Spyro before? I ask this because Spyro is open world sandbox and Crash is not. Meaning the game is going to be a far bigger file size. You can enjoy your PS1 version then while I buy this trilogy new and support the developers and coders that worked their butts off for well over 2 years to bring us something that wasn't half a--ed. Besides who owns a PS4 without internet these days? Sure there are caps and slow download speeds but that's not ACTIVISION or Toys for Bob's fault.
HuntingFever
I'm done with Activision after Spyro comes out, because I am fed up of their BS. There is zero excuse for not making this game a 2 disc set, as they will more than make their money back on it and then some. Don't get me wrong, I love Spyro to death and will be playing the hell out of this collection after it comes through my Letterbox next week but Activision's treatment of him over the last decade has really rubbed me up the wrong way and this business about what is and isn't on the disc - is the last straw. I love what Toys for Bob have done with this remake but Activision have been treating them like dirt, if that annoymous employee Reddit post from a couple of months back is anything to go by.
