You guys are using some guide to walk you through the missions / crafting? I've never played the online portion of this game, and reading the posts on this thread im completely lost.

The quests in this game are pretty straightforward, actually. You shouldn't have much of a problem with them at first. There will be a few harder ones toward the end, but if you Google the names of those quests, you should be able to find plenty of people that share their strategies.
Weapons enhancement is pretty basic too-- you buy or find weapons and can use materials bought from stores or picked up in battles to increase the stats once you have access to the crafting station. Some weapons will have bars beneath certain stats; if you fill up those bars, your weapon will "evolve" and you can continue to build up the weapons even further. Your stats are going to be mainly based on the stats you receive from weapons rather than leveling; even so, you don't need really good weapons until about 75% of your way through the content.
There's a Google Sheets link in one of the posts above that details some over-powered weapon builds step-by-step as well as lists out all sorts of information about items, what drops them, etc.

Just finished the Comrades trophies today. Did all of the trophies except for one (beating the final boss #2 for the last royal sigil) without crafting uber powerful weapons (I used the 30% craft bonus to craft level 120 versions of Dragon Whisker, Vitanova, Dancing Daggers, and Clarity Shield to ensure I beat him - the rest I did with level 50 versions of two Ashuras, a Golden Axe, and an extra pair of level 30 Dancing Daggers). All thanks mostly to getting lucky with random people I managed to join up with (couldn't have done the mandatory high level Urgents "early" otherwise).

Question: The jewel with 30% of fire is fire resistence? if the answer is yes do I need to have the resistence in the weapon I will use with Ifrit or can I have the resistence among the rest of the three weapon?

All your weapons combine their stats, so you can have the fire resistance spread around as much as you like - it does not need to be on one weapon.

Oh I see, thank you very much (: also I think I'm doing something wrong because my character fire stat just show the number "100" without the %. I used gems with 30%+ of fire when dismantle some mace.

Can't believe how this DLC is putting my very first Chocobo as a prize in the hardest missions. Two hours and I still have to catch my first Chocobo.

Edit: Some hours later I finally managed to catch 3 Chocobos in 3 medium lev missions. Obviously their max level is 30 lol. Damn RNG

Same here. But I've managed to do high level missions that dropped only lv 20 max Chocobos. This trophy is really triggering me!

If i would like to start playing FFXV Comrades i will have a chance to finish it before servers close? It will be hard to learn how to play and what to do? (i have never played any FF game even FFXV)

From my experience so far, the game is easy to understand and with the help of some few guides it should be easy to get the weapons everyone uses for the higher missions. The average completion time for all comrades trophies lies around 30-40 hours, so playing a few hours every day should do the trick (that's what I'm trying)
From playstyle, I don't think you can even compare it to other FF games, maybe to XV itself but even then it is a lot mor simplified than the main game combat as well.
Personally, the hardest thing to endure are the loading screens. I see more of those than actual gameplay uu

But you should beware, Comrades will spoil some parts of the base game!

This is the only reason why i'm still farming materials to combine with the 30% buff potion. I'll create killer build with 3 Dragon Whiskers (main with two penetrator x) and 1 Dancing Dagger and annihilate that goddamn Deathclaw

Looks like we randomly played some Urgent missions together just now :P

If you like to wait 10 minutes of loading times (start, set up, start, cooking, return to outpost) for 5 minutes of fight, there's no problem.

Repeat that route when you go farming rarest materials. Laser Sensors glitch now has been patched too.

Can you link some of those guides?

Can you link some of those guides?

Can't say, that I found the best ones and maybe others in this thread can link better ons but those are the ones I currently have open:
Link 1: for a list of every weapon, where to obtain them and what stats are needed to transform them into better weapons
Link 2: for a list of every mission and their recommended level. It's helping me to see what missions I should try to unlock next and what and where my options are. You can tackle higher leveld ones with a lower level as long as your weapons are leveled. So far I'm level 8 and I just successfully finished a Level 14 escort mission, so it is not much to worry about. But there can still be missions which are hard by design (I had defense missions for example)

Link 3: Explains how to get weapons to level 120 instead of capping them at level 99. So far, I haven't went for this method as I still try to find my way through the map and getting some levels up and just occasionally leveling some of my weapons before I want to worry about getting the great weapons to finish the higher missions. I will get to this once I've unlocked those relevant missions

And yes, i know, I'm someone who works with a lot of tabs and links simultaneously for different stuff. It's always been easier for me that way instead of scrolling around in one guide for everything. But I think, the guide here on PSNP is quite good in its explanation for a good beginners weapon. Only thing it doesn't tell you, is, that you need to unlock an Arms Schematics book on the map before you can buy the Katana, they tell you about. And the guide on .org has a map up that shows how all paths look like if you light them up. Helped me in finding the route to Meldacio HQ.

Hope, I was able to help a bit.

Having not played the base game yet, I can't really imagine the base game is spoiled at all from Comrades. There is almost no story in Comrades.

The closest thing to a spoiler (but is it really?) I've seen (just have the last boss for the last sigil left)

Spoiler

I know Noctis is the main character and you end up meeting him, but there's literally no context around the meeting. Maybe it will suddenly make sense when I play the base game, but right now I have no idea what the plot of the base game is.

Well, if you listen to what the characters say they will spoil some stuff that happens during the main game's story. And the character info texts also spoil some things. If you want to stay completely spoiler-free, just skip everything characters say and ignore any cutscenes. Since I haven't finished what story there is in Comrades, I can't say if skipping anything will end up being confusing towards the end content and missions of Comrades. So far, it doesn't spoil much if you go into it blind, but if you're someone that can tell a lot of information with just a little bit of input than it could spoil some stuff and possibly somewhat heavier. Since I already played the main game and know what's happening, I can't tell how easy it is to recognize spoilers in Comrades though

It is more than doable.  I only started it on Saturday and just finished today, that's included time spent helping other people through missions and farming some of the high level resources for crafting.  Trophy wise, I pretty much ended up soloing everything using the Ai characters - even with my current build I can take down the level 99 Zu mission fairly easily.

I actually enjoyed the game and found it pretty straightforward to pick up and learn how to play, so I'm sure you won't have any issues.

I'll probably still be playing for fun for a while, so will be around if anyone needs any help with missions

No hard but you need around 35~40 hours in order to earn every trophy, with that time you can learn and improve your ability, some quest can be a challenger, if you have playstation plus you can try quest online if have a problem to beat it.

Care to share your build? And if you started Saturday, you did your build without the 30% bonus from Cid?

I'll need to upload the screen shot but I'm currently using two Dragon Whiskers, a Honebami and Wizard Shield

My main Dragon Whisker has 2 Penetrator X skills (you get the second one by farming a Behemoth Tear) and I used a build that I found online with a couple of changes mainly instead of using Laser Sensors, I used Monster Jaws as I found them easier to farm, and you don't make any sacrifices on the magic/spirit values.

Corsesca
1 Dragon Horn
1 Ancient Cloth
2 Strength Shard
3 Laser Sensor
1 Behemoth Tears

Harpoon
15 Laser Sensor

Dragon Whisker
2 Meteorite
34 Laser Sensor
1 Strength Gemstone

I actually randomly got the 30% Cid buff at the end of a mission (I had been farming Menacing Mechs to level up a bit) so I backed up my saves beforehand and then went ahead with my builds.  I was level 52 when I took on the final boss of the DLC and used the Rampage Sigil like @eigen-space suggested earlier in the topic and it worked a treat.

I played 47 hours and I still have to get my first Behemut Tears for upgrading the Dragon Whisker. I guess I will finish this crappy dlc in 150 hours more or less

In case someone doesn't want to wait for the six days to get the Cid Buff. You can replay the daily mission and get Shards and elemental stones from enemies. I accidentally screwed up my buff and just farmed 2-3 hours the dailies and went from my initial ~15 each to 60 elemental stones each. It was a rather easy one today, so idk if it will be similar with other or harder dailies. I usually got 3-6 stones and 12 to 20 shards. Everytime you have more than 50 elemental shards you can trade them into 7 of any element you need at the buff shop. Having 30% chance of getting items helps I guess. And if you want to save time you can abort the mission a few seconds before it ends. This way the item buff stays, you still get your stones and shards and less annoying loading times.

Of course no! I already finish with the dlc (just one trophy remain the 999k) and I have almost 40 hours. for Dragon whisker you don't need behemut tear, instead it use gems with +30 atack in order to upgrate it after you get your Dragon whisker. What I did was: use "Octolegs" you can find it in the quest Lighting the Way and usually you can find 2 every time (you can finish the quest in 5 min or so if you dmg is good) keep upgrade until have your Dragon Whisker and after mix it with STR gems.

You can get STR gem and DEF gem each with +30 with this method: buy a mace (the first one) in Lestallum, after using Chrome Bits that you buy from the Imperial Trader, keep upgrade your mace until each stat of it (the arm and fit) reach the level 60, also you will need meteorite, so if you reach the mace until level 60 you can get 1 STR and DEF gem and 1 meteorite. After you have the gem of STR put in on the Dragon whisker and also use 2 or 3 meteorite on it to reach the level 120.

That was I did and already beat Ifrit with two Dragon whisker with only STR, and two honebami katana with a lot of DEF gem and of course the 100% of fire dmg.

Why 4 meteorite?  You only need to use 2 to get the weapon up to level 120
