IntroPhenom
Hi! How about a video-game themed resolution for 2019? Mine is to get more platinum trophies on my PS3 and Vita. (Eyeing you, Atelier Rorona.)
starcrunch061
MOAR PLATS!!! But actually, I might cut back next year. The job has become more interesting, and my kids aren't getting younger.
Feral
Don't really do any sort of New Year's Resolution but getting my unearned trophy count down would be close as I come to a resolution. Edited May 1, 2019 by Feral
Popular Post Mesopithecus
Something I'm already working on that will run into next year, but I'm not buying any games for 12 months (with the exception of Kingdom Hearts 3 which is already pre-ordered) This is an effort to save money and motivate me to get through games that have sat in my backlog for the past couple of years
GT__Jedi
I plan big, it lasts about a week, if I'm lucky.
Lava_Yuki
Mine is to catch up on my backlog and not buy any games until then. Also, only buy on sale, price drops and used to save money.
ZachGM91
If I had to put it down to the site in particular, I would like to get my completion percentage up to 85% (if not, somewhere between 80% and 90%) and keep my uncompleted games below 10. Other then that, play more PS3 and stream more (AKA start streaming).
MidnightDragon
OK, I'll bite. Get my completion to at least 95% by the end of 2019 Earn at least one platinum a month No new game buying from January 15-April 15 (with the exception of my preorders)
mecharobot
Build up a nice collection of games for the Switch and maybe focus on PC too. That's about it. Probably will quit trophy hunting for the most part in the process.
Lagoon Aris
1: Top 2018s count of platinum (so about 30 plats in 2019) 2: average completion of 65% (currently at nearly 58%, so not far away) 3: Reach 75 plat milestone (currently 54, so reachable if I manage goal 1) 4: Get my E ranks below 10 5: if possible cut down every backlog category to below 30 games (meaning at least 7 PS3 games and 30 PS4 games if I don't buy anything new) A lot of goals but some of them should be no problem, I guess. Even though I want to cut down gaming a bit to concentrate on my other hobbies more again.
Nightstream88
-Finish My Wii U Collection -Finish my Nintendo Wii Collection -Get more platinums then 2018(hopefully) -Maybe finish my Nintendo 3DS collection Those 3 systems are fairly close to the end of me buying games for them so probably after Kingdom hearts 3 releases I might not buy too many PS4 games and try to finish buying games for those systems. PS3 is fairly close to the end as well. There were more games I wanted on the Wii U, but a lot of them got ported to the Switch so I'll just buy them for that system whenever I get it.
Lance_87
To fully stop buying PS3/Vita games and build up a collection of PS4 games... like Spyro, RDR2, Medievil, DOOM, and whatever i wasn't able to play on my crappy PC... but i'd like to stop buying games at least until Easter, too... Midnightwards666
Never thought about my new year's resolution in terms of games. There's not very much I want to change about the way I play - I just play when I get time. I think my resolution would be to just continue doing what I can... if that can even be called a resolution. MidnightDragon
Decided to add one more. Lojtana
The things I really want to accomplish are to finish every game that I'll start next year and a few of the games that I started and abandoned throughout the years. I'm hoping to reduce my unearned trophies and to increase my completion rate this way.
Lillia
Start all the new games I bought recently and finish them! It's not that I was busy I just didn't feel motivated enough. I've been playing Overwatch way too much and kinda abandoned the rest of my collection ?
Popular Post Dreakon13
1. Play more games... I have a very difficult time sitting down and just enjoying games when I have stuff on my mind. As such, 2018 was an extremely unproductive year as far as gaming goes (just in general, I don't do trophies/achievements anymore). Between deaths in and out of the family, health issues the last 4-5 months in particular, my bouts of admittedly selfish depression and unfounded self-loathing (I'm working on it), and trying to maintain a job that is fairly low stress thankfully but more invasive on my down time than I probably should've allowed it to be (I've brought it up and am fairly confident the bosses can find a way to help me out there)... sitting down, just relaxing and enjoying games has been virtually impossible. Tack on some re-arranging I've done in the house that left me with the worlds most uncomfortable chair in the gaming room, and yeah. I'm going to move the recliner from the living room to my gaming room after I have folks over for new years though, and enjoy some comfortable gaming while I shop around for a new one for the living room. I'm optimistic about 2019. It'd be tough for it to be worse than 2018 on a personal level, and I think I'm due a good mental health year. Being able to lose myself in some good games should be of some real benefit to me. 2019 is my Year of the Dog too, I think I need a little buddy as much as some rescue out there needs a home. 2. Buy less games... I've had some big expenses the last few years, and I never really cut back my gaming spending like I planned on. I'm in a spot where I have a ton of games to play and hopefully in 2019 I'll be able to take a breath, sit back and enjoy them... so I can probably afford to show a little more restraint. Limited Run Games releases and other limited print games that I wouldn't want to miss out on, notwithstanding. If I can leave it at that and maybe a few select preorders throughout the year... I'd call that a win. Edited December 30, 2018 by Dreakon13
Phlegeth
Like a few people here, I want to buy less games/beat the games I own. This year was pretty productive in that. I'm in the positive of games bought: games beaten/completed. On that note, complete more games. I used to be better at sitting down and doing optional fights and getting the ultimate gear and abilities. Now I'll just grab whatever makes my character a broken mess and steam roll the main story with that.
Honor_Hand
Hmm, New Year's Resolution for 2019? But gaming related... If there is one I could think of is, it would probably be, to manage to stay afloat in these hard economic times I'm living through in order to continue enjoying gaming. 2018 was a pretty good year overall. I managed to get back into the hobby and made a pretty decent amount of progress as far as Platinums and game collecting goes. Got lots of PS3 games for my shelves (when they were affordable to get locally...), got both a steering wheel and an arcade stick to enjoy two of the genres I love the most, finally got a Vita myself and, to really crown the year, folks here were exceptionally kind to get me started on a PS4, some games, and even a T-shirt too. Holy, now that I think about it, this has been my most glorious gaming year ever O_O Yeah, I probably didn't reach the Platinums (125) and completion rate (85%) I was aiming for but I got great friends and a number of happy memories in the process. And I think that's much more important. I also did a pretty decent effort towards my Platinum count compared to previous years so hey, not all is lost. All in all, even if shit has hit the fan for the last few months and things are exceptionally brutal here economically speaking, I only want things to stay the same for me as far as gaming goes. It was a great year and I hope 2019 will bring even more exciting and cheerful memories for me. Edited December 30, 2018 by Honor_Hand
Undead Wolf
I did some goals for this year that ended in varying levels of success (post here). For next year I'll try to strike a better balance between being realistic while still pushing myself. Let's see... Reach a total of 280 platinums Reach PSN level 50 Raise completion to 94% Have fewer than 750 unearned trophies Complete all of the games in my PS3 backlog that I still want to play/get back to (this one is pretty vague, but I'll know if I've achieved this by the end of the year) I could make more specific goals aimed at certain games or a series, but I don't want to limit myself too much.
DMC_Coyote
My New Year's Resolution is to actually finish games. Take a look at my game list, and what do you see? Unfinished games.. I also want to platinum Assassins Creed Black Flag, since I got all the achievements on the Xbox 360, before I got some sense and got a PS4... Edunstar84
I'll try to stick to 3: -Get my completion to 80% -Complete more games than I did in 2018. -And still finish some of my PS3 backlog.
