Is it possible to do the invite feature and get trophies? I was told no, but just wanted to confirm with another who seems to know his stuff with this game.

I'm not sure since I've been purely playing ranked. Your best bet would be to try to boost one of the easier trophies and see if it unlocks. One thing I am sure of is that there are certainly trophies that cannot be boosted like reaching rank 20, because that deals with playing the actual ranked mode.

Can I add you and try test it?

So, I don't understand some trophy descriptions because im not entirely into card/witcher games but i did Platinum Hand of the gods a few months back, it was HELL for me because i had to do a flawless arena run (12-0) Is there something as ridiculous as that in this list that im not Catching up to? Id appreciate it if someone with the knowledge answered before i dive into this game, thanks.

There's one "similar" trophy, but you only have to do 6 wins out of a maximum of 9 and it doesn't have to be a perfect run. I assume you don't mind grinding, but the most grindy trophies I see in that list is to smash 100 kegs (these are the game's booster packs), reach prestige 1 (level 60 basically) and to own 150 premium cards. For that last one you'll likely have to consider dusting your entire non-premium collection after you've done everything else to make as many premiums as you can.

Now, that's assuming the trophies people are reporting to be glitched get fixed. In my experience with the beta CDPR doesn't exactly have a stellar history of technical expertise, and consoles were never their top priority. Anyway, for the special condition trophies. I can't test if those are boostable in private matches. But if they aren't, I can tell which ones will make you want to tear your hair out. One I'd consider somewhat annoying is "Traditionalist", as for that you'd have to rely on pure RNG to be able to draft the same card in an arena 3 times. There's 3 other annoying ones that your opponent is very unlikely to let you gain, and those are:

- "Specialist" (you only get 16 draws out of 25 cards naturally, so your deck would have to be pretty much almost entirely special cards, basically spell cards, you have to draw them, use them, and then win),

- "Master Tactician" (if it was card advantage of 2 I could see that happening, but the difference between 2 and 3 card advantage is pretty huge. I'd only consider it likely to happen if you pass with a big lead on the 1st round, and the opponent decides to keep playing to take it) and

- "Quick, before-" (a unit with Zeal can trigger immediately upon being played, so your opponent would have to consciously not use it so as to allow you a chance to destroy it. I'm not saying it's impossible, just, you can see why it could be a problem).

Edit: On second thought for that last one you could just run a few Trap cards and hope you get lucky eventually.

Thanks! Exactly what i wanted to know, they do seem very luck based but to be fair, these may happen eventually through all the grind and matches needed for other trophies ^^,im just glad i dont need to do a perfect arena match. My god ! Really appreciate it ?

Very interesting, but I'm wondering how much this game has changed since the initial beta on PS4? I really liked Gwent in the Witcher, but the game kept changing as it went on and I gave up. I think I'll give this a go once all of the trophies are fixed tho.

It's changed significantly, both aesthetically and mechanically. Compared to a new player, it's still easier for a beta player to transition into this version, but there's a great deal to learn either way. The game also seems a lot more balanced so far.

I've been getting quite a few multiplayer ones such as Head To Head (drawing) with a friend tonight but still can't get Overkill, i've won by 50 points like the trophy says and 100 like the contract ingame says, but still nothing. I won by 135, so i'm not sure if that one has to be ranked/casual/arena or if that's invite as well.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm a bit late but I'm pretty sure I got some trophy that say "win" by losing. I think I got specialist after playing 15 specials while boosting and losing.

Edit: I just helped someone and they got Overkill and Specialist on the first try while winning.
