Popular Post hore
"The game is your enemy; take it down by any means necessary, exploiting bugs along the way" For those unaware, you can remove (and sometimes downgrade) patches on PS3/VITA/PS4 (yes, even digital PS4 games!). This opens up a wealth of trophy possibilities for many games, and this thread aims to compile a list of those games. Why would I want to downgrade/delete patches? Some patches remove exploits/glitches that would've made trophies easier/faster Some patches make trophies harder/longer (E.G. Changing their requirements, adding new base-game trophies required for platinum) Some patches outright break the game or render certain trophies unobtainable How to remove/downgrade patches: Spoiler Physical games can always be easily reverted to v1.00 for any platform by simply deleting the game app* (if applicable) and declining the patch on startup (or disabling your console's internet connection to prevent any prompts or sneaky auto-downloads). *For PS3 games, you go to Game Data Utility and delete the data of your preferred game. PS3 digital games: There are 3 possibilities when trying to delete digital PS3 game patches (for v1.00): Sometimes, you can just go to Game Data Utility and delete the data of your preferred game. Some games require you to delete and redownload the entire game. Some games include the patches by default and are thus impossible to revert digitally It's possible to selectively patch some games by aborting the patching process before all patches have been downloaded. VITA digital games: To delete patches (for v1.00), delete the game and begin redownloading it. Patches are either downloaded alongside the game as a separate download (in which case you cancel it), or offered to you upon starting the game (in which case you decline it) PS4 digital games: To delete patches (for v1.00), refer to this guide. If you're using a PS5, method 1 doesn't seem to work, so you'll need to use method 2 or alternatively use method 1 on an actual PS4 and then transfer the unpatched game directly to PS5. [tutorial] To revert to a particular patch, follow this guide (it's for Mad Max, but works similarly for every game). You'll need to know the 'patch URL' of the desired patch, which unfortunately isn't always known. Patch URLs also vary by Title ID (i.e. the game's region/format), so a patch URL must contain the Title ID that corresponds to your game version. To find your game's Title ID, search the game on GameFAQs and view its Release Data. A bunch of patch URLs can be found here. You can also try searching for the game here: https://orbispatches.com/ PS5 digital games: Currently impossible/unknown. How can I contribute to this thread? If you know (or suspect) that a patch has (or will) make a trophy harder, longer, or impossible to obtain, please post about it and include as many of the below details as possible: Game title Patch version that negatively changed the trophy What has changed? (OPTIONAL) Which trophy(s) are affected? This thread provides a shallow overview of each game, relying on links to provide specifics. So, cite your sources when possible, especially when concerning glitches/exploits. Game List (A–Z) Spoiler #KillAllZombies (PS4) | The trophy "Lock'n'Load" is unobtainable on the latest version due to newly added weapons that don't actually appear in the game... Might also affect Vita version. 3D Mini Golf | 'Prom King' is currently unobtainable on the latest patch, so you'll need to play on v1.00 to achieve it. Animal Super Squad | v1.04 broke a bunch of trophies (both NA+EU). Arcade Paradise | v1.00 has a money exploit that saves time on the upgrade trophy. Assetto Corsa Competizione | A patch in May 2022 broke the trophy Leader of the pack, so you'll need to downgrade to achieve it. Aven Colony | An unknown patch (no later than v1.05) allegedly added extra objectives to some missions, making the platinum take longer. Note that v1.04 fixed major technical problems involving crashes & frame rate, so revert at your own risk. AVICII Invector | This glitch for Rhythm Savant trophy was patched with the version 1.04; you can downgrade to v1.00 to use it. Batman: Arkham Origins | v1.00 has an exploit to unlock the 2 Initiation DLC trophies without needing to own the DLC. Battlefield 1 | v1.05 made the Airborne Cannons codex entry harder to achieve, which is tied to 'Taking down giants'. Users report that enemy planes take longer to kill, the AA gun overheats quicker, and the sky is obstructed by smoke. However, in May 2018 v1.23 buffed AA gun damage which made this codex easier than ever [source]. Beat Saber | A Dec 2018 patch (v1.03?) removed an exploit that let users easily achieve S ranks via modifiers [source], making 'Hope' and 'Precision' significantly harder. Users should be able to simply revert to v1.00 to use this exploit. Details can be found in Point8Nate's post. Bloodborne | This dupe glitch was patched in v1.02 which let you quickly overlevel yourself (using coldblood) to trivialize the game, making all trophies quicker & easier. Just revert to v1.00 and the exploit will work. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (PS3) | There were some overpowered items that made all trophies easier + faster; play on v1.00 to take advantage [source]. Borderlands 2 (PS3) | There were some overpowered items that made all trophies easier + faster; play on v1.00 to take advantage [source]. Borderlands 3 | Various patches have heavily nerfed XP & Eridium gain, drop rates, and equipment. There are also several exploits on v1.00 that you can try abusing, like this God mode. However, be wary of potential progression glitches that might force you to update, and keep in mind any DLC won't work [source]. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS3/PS4) | The exo survival trophies are pretty tough nowadays, so you'll want to revert to v1.00 for a couple reasons: firstly, the gameplay was easier than intended; view changes here. Secondly, there are numerous out-of-map glitches that render you untouchable, like this. These changes/exploits trivialize the exo survival stuff, most notably 'Flip Flop' and '20/20 (DLC)'. Calvino Noir | The latest patch (v1.02) fixed some trophies, but glitched others [details]. Basically, you'll want to start on v1.00 to collect the coins (at least the ones that are glitched on v1.02), then patch the game to collect any remaining coins and also pop the now-obtainable misc. trophies (may require starting a fresh save). More info in this thread. Chroma Squad (EU) | v1.03 made most trophies unobtainable, so you must downgrade to v1.00 or play the NA version. Claire (PS4) | v1.04 contains this exploit which lets you play on any difficulty and still achieve 'Wake Up' on PS4. This got patched in NA with v1.20, but EU never received the patch [source]. If you're interested in reverting to v1.04, the patch URL should be in here. Constructor | v1.09 patched an exploit that made 'BUILT LIKE A THUG' easier to achieve; the trophy would pop from killing 5 zombies or cockroaches, not just workers. Details in trophy guide. Reverting to v1.00 should re-enable it. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time | v1.00 has a level skip exploit [details] that lets you effortlessly pop "Overachiever" and "OVER-Overachiever". Note that this is only situationally useful (like here), since the other trophies will satisfy these conditions naturally. Curse of the Sea Rats | v1.03 broke the trophy "The Fighter" [source]. Dakar 18 | As of v2.01, 2 trophies are broken and will need to be done on v1.00 - but v1.00 has other broken trophies. Dark Souls (PS3) | You can play without patches (v1.00) to exploit this glitch (read video description) for unlimited souls & humanity. Dead Space 3 | v1.00 contains this exploit (also described in the trophy guide) that lets you use the Devil Horn weapon (unlocked by completing Classic mode) in your other playthroughs. You'll essentially be able to breeze through your Hardcore and Pure Survival playthroughs by 1-shotting every enemy. This also works with the digital version, since it downloads without any patches. You don't need to delete the patches until you complete Classic mode, however, you may wish to play Classic mode on v1.00 as there is also this infinite ammo exploit. Death's Gambit | You can revert to v1.00 to utilize the debug menu seen in this video, which trivializes all trophies except for 'An endless elegy...'which was glitched, so you'll need to eventually update the game to earn that trophy. Defunct | The Ooh! Secrets! trophy became unobtainable and the other three trophies related to secrets popped in the wrong secret locations after the patch. Downgrading back to 1.00 made it obtainable again. Demon's Souls (PS5) | v1.00 features a glitch that lets you 1-shot every enemy/boss and get infinite souls to max out your stat points, making all trophies much easier. Video guide Demon's Tier+ | This glitch has been patched recently; it let users unlock all starting classes in just 20 minutes, which makes the first playthrough way easier. On PS Vita just don't update the game, and on PS4 you can downgrade to v1.00. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls | A Sep 2023 patch glitched the Terror in the Blood DLC trophy, but can still be earned on older versions. Check this thread for details. Disco Elysium | This exploit lets you start a new character with maxed out stats (12 of each). Was patched in v1.08. Disgaea 4 (PS3) | You can reject the updates to play on v1.00 to exploit the duplication glitch detailed here, which significantly shortens all trophies by duping powerful equipment and innocents to quickly build a powerful party. Divinity: Original Sin 2 | v1.05 patched this unlimited gold exploit. However, as of Aug 2022 there is another gold exploit, along with several other helpful exploits. See this post for details. DJMax Respect | A beneficial glitch arrived with v1.31 (v1.43 for JP/AS) which greatly simplifies AI missions by removing the AI entirely. If this gets patched, you can find the patch URLs here. DmC Devil May Cry (PS3) | If you reject the patches and stay on v1.00, 'Jackpot!' will be notably easier. Your style points build up faster, making the SSS rankings easier. More details here. This purportedly doesn't work on the PS4 port. Doom (Classic) | v1.07 made the game harder by increasing enemy speed. It can be reverted using a special method [details]. Doom 2 (Classic) | v1.07 made the game harder by increasing enemy speed. It can be reverted using a special method [details]. Dustforce | v1.00 has an exploit to make the SS-ranks a bit easier; read more in the guide. Dying Light | 1) The Feb 2016 patch made 'Things That Go Ka-Boom' (DLC) harder to obtain because the Viral and Goon zombies seem to have more health [source]. If you're having trouble, you may be able to revert to a prior patch if you can find its URL in this list. 2) This exploit lets players duplicate care packages to reach legend level ~250 in ~45 mins, trivializing the gameplay to make most trophies faster/easier. It works as of v1.15 (US, CUSA-00078). See this post for some tips if your game is crashing, as well as a better method if you have The Following DLC. End Space | The latest patch doesn't install the trophy list, so no trophies are obtainable unless you play on an older version. Fallout: New Vegas | There's an early-game infinite money exploit on v1.00 detailed in the wiki: When cashing in chips from the Vikki and Vance Casino, the chips will not be removed from the player character's inventory but the currency (caps, NCR dollars or Legion money) will still be acquired. Using this method, one may repeatedly "cash in" without ever losing any chips. Deleting the title update allows this glitch to be done as with any other glitch, but any DLC items will be deleted from your inventory and storage. Final Fantasy XV | 1) v1.27 removed the Comrades mode in favor of releasing it as a standalone game, so those DLC trophies are unobtainable unless you downgrade the patch [guide]. You'll want to downgrade to v1.18, as it features several time-saving exploits [details]. FlatOut 4 | v1.03 has reportedly made 'Jay will be Proud!' unobtainable. You can delete the patch and earn the trophy on v1.00, but it seems you'll need to start a new game. Forager | As of Sep 2023, "Tool Collector" and "Accessory Collector" are glitched and only obtainable on an older version. Gauntlet | This exploit should work if you revert to v1.00, making 'We need to go Deeper - Gold' easier (but longer). God of War 3 | There are 2 exploits: 1) Max Weapons & Infinite Health (Titan Mode Glitch) 2) Skip most of a ng+ playthrough Gran Turismo 5 | v1.10 contains this exploit that trivializes the hardest challenge (Vettel). Habroxia 2 | The latest patch for Habroxia 2 fixes an exploit that makes the new DLC much easier, so downgrade to the previous version to use it. Hand of Fate | Various patches have added base-game trophies and nerfed some unspecified exploits. Reverting to v1.00 will let you earn the plat without having to achieve 'One with the Kraken', 'Kraken Master', and 'The Elder Lizard'. The plat is allegedly much harder with exploits. Headspun | As of v1.10, 'Unspun' is glitched. Fulfilling the requirements on v1.00 doesn't unlock the trophy either, but there's a workaround here that involves downgrading to v1.00 after you've fulfilled the criteria on v1.10. Hive: Altenum Wars | In July 2022, a patch broke the trophy GOOD DAY. Honor and Duty | 3 trophies are unobtainable on the current patch (Diversity, Extra Crispy, The Healer) and must be obtained on v1.00 of the digital version (physical comes pre-patched). Some other trophies are broken on v1.00, so it's recommended to get these 3 trophies and then update the game to get the others. Host 714 | 3 trophies are unobtainable as of v1.01 [details]. Hotline Miami | Reverting to v1.00 makes 'Get A Life' easier, as it'll pop after roughly 11-13 A+ ranks instead of the expected 17. Human Fall Flat | Reverting to v1.00 makes 'Speedrun' faster, as it removes the free DLC levels that became part of the base game trophy requirement. Instead of popping after "Ice" (14 levels), the trophy pops after "Aztec" (11 levels). Injustice: Gods Among Us | Reverting to v1.00 should undo several AI enhancements, making 'Ultimate Battler' easier as per this guide. Jak 3 (PS4) | On PS4, reverting to v1.00 will allow you to perform this easy infinite orb glitch, making 'The Orbiter of Record' much faster & easier. You want to get 300 orbs, then you can use the debug menu to get to 600; see this thread for details. There is a similar glitch (here) that works on the current patch, but it's much less reliable. Note that the PS3/Vita versions were never patched, so the glitch still works just fine for them. Jurassic World Evolution | Several patches have extended some trophies with additional tasks that must be fulfilled; deleting the patches should reduce the effort required for platinum [source]. Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition | This re-release has cheat codes that let you get all trophies in 1-2 hours until it was patched. Reverting to v1.00 should allow you to use this cheat walkthrough. LEGO Worlds | The v1.19 patch covertly fixed the exploit that allowed you to auto-pop Designer's Delight and Billionaire by joining another person's game (either online or off) who had already unlocked them. Apparently you could also auto-pop the Rank trophies the same way. You don't want to go any lower than v1.16, because that was the patch which fixed the bug that made it so the DLC items were required for Designer's Delight. Letter Quest Remastered | You can revert to v1.00 and exploit this glitch to achieve 'Born To Spell' almost instantly. LittleBigPlanet 3 | 'A guy called Quest' can be achieved in just 10 mins using this exploit. It works on both PS3 and PS4 on any version prior to v1.05. Mafia 3 | As of v1.12, several trophies are glitched - their progress gets reset when you close the application. You'll need to either do everything in one sitting, or more ideally, downgrade to v1.09. See this thread for a list of the glitched trophies, and read some recent posts to get an idea of how to downgrade to v1.09. Mass Effect Legendary Edition | This one has 3 list with platinum and one without. The one without platinum has difficulty-related trophies in it. According to this post, Insanity II and III can be cheese if you beat ME1 on insanity legit, additionally ME1 on insanity can also be cheese in the same post. Mercenary Kings | This invincibility exploit works on v1.00 and makes the entire plat a pushover, including the infamous 'Speed Runner'. Metro Exodus | v1.00 has this exploit that lets players achieve 'Hardcore' and 'Eternal Voyage' by essentially just replaying the 1st mission. This means you only need 1 playthrough instead of 2, and can enjoy the game on an easier difficulty. Note that this has only been tested on disc, but should work the same digitally. Minecraft (PS4) | The Bedrock Update (v1.96+) glitched multiple trophies; to fix them, you can obtain an original retail copy (the one with Diamond Armour Steve on the cover) and updating that to the latest patch [source]. Mortal Blitz | v1.03 introduced "Extreme" difficulty which became required to achieve 'True Hero'. Reverting to v1.00 will net you the trophy just by playing on Nightmare difficulty. Note that the patches made various QoL improvements, so you may want to wait until the last mission before reverting to v1.00. NASCAR '14 | The trophy "Front Row" is unobtainable on the latest patch. On The Road | v1.00 features an exploit to achieve the distance trophies quicker (and fully AFK) by falling through the map. v1.00 also awards significantly more money and reputation per job, making the level-up trophies quicker [source]. Orc Slayer | This infinite health exploit has long been patched, but made all trophies effortless. You should be able to just revert to v1.00 and do this all the same. Override: Mech City Brawl | The current patch requires a paid DLC skin to unlock 'Elevated Look', but this can be bypassed by reverting to v1.00; see this post for details. Party Pumper | The "Perfect beat" trophy is glitched on v1.01, but can be obtained on v1.00 [source]. Past Cure | As of Sep 2023, "Bull in China Shop" is glitched and only obtainable on older versions. Patapon 2 Remastered | v1.00 contains a debug menu that makes all trophies very easy, and some pretty much instant. See this thread for details. Perils of Baking (PS4) | The final boss fight became quite difficult after a patch, so you can revert to v1.00 to make 'All Bosses defeated' easier. The VITA version comes pre-patched, however. Pistol Whip | In v1.00, almost all of the trophies glitch out and pop under weird circumstances or don't pop at all. Most of the harder trophies where the trophy description says "without (other) modifiers enabled" do in fact unlock with modifiers like "No Fail" or "Unarmed Enemies" enabled. Some easier trophies like "Finish the tutorial" or "Finish a scene on easy difficulty" don't pop at all but can be earned easily after patching the game to the latest version. Pixel Ripped 1995 | A recent patch removed the ability to save scum the hardest trophy [source]. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale | On PS3 and VITA, you can reject the patches and play on v1.00 to make 'Character Mastery' easy. Choose Drake, skip to his final combo (which is much simpler unpatched), then complete it to pop the trophy. Prince of Persia | Patch v1.01 resets your death count to 0, so you can play through the game on v1.00 without worrying about death, then install v1.01 at the final boss (or even after you beat the game, since an autosave is made after the boss but before the credits). Trivializes 'Be gentle with her'. Pure Pool | The single player is very difficult & unfair, but v1.00 has 2 benefits: the AI seems a bit easier [source] and there's a minor visual aid to help make better shots [source]. Note that the disc version seems to come pre-patched; the only confirmed reversion used the digital version. Race The Sun | v1.00 has a major exploit (detailed in this trophy guide) that keeps your trophy progress persisting through death & even different game modes, thus trivializing all trophies. This can be done on VITA/PS3/PS4. Note that this game has a stackable LRG platinum (PH) that is pre-patched, meaning you'll need to earn its trophies legitimately. There is cross-save between the 2 stacks, but only the level-up trophies seem to autopop [source]. Rad Rodgers | As of v1.05, you must be on v1.02-1.04 to pop all trophies; some are glitched currently and prior to these patches. [Details] Redout | Patch v1.03 arbitrarily made the Career medal time requirements much stricter, drastically increasing the difficulty of 'Pile Up Trophies'. You can simply delete the patches and breeze through the Career on v1.00. Resident Evil 4 (Remake) | There were several now-patched skips at launch - some listed within the PSNP guide - that made certain trophies easier, like the speedrun and difficulty playthroughs. Resistance 2 | There's an exploit on v1.00 to achieve 'OMGWTFBBQ' just by replaying the last mission on Superhuman difficulty. Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality | This video illustrates an exploit to achieve 'Beaurocratic Nightmare' with ease, but it's since been patched with v1.03(?). Simply reverting to v1.00 will re-enable the exploit. Rocket League | The "Stocked" trophy is much easier/faster on v1.00 - all you need to do is complete 200 custom matches (can set score limit to 1). Salt and Sanctuary (VITA) | You can reject the patches to play on v1.00 to exploit this debug menu, which lets you instantly become level 540 to trivialize the gameplay of all trophies. You can also enable God Mode, but if you find that the game crashes often, consider updating the game – you'll still be level 540, and the game will be smoother. Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 (JP) | Patch v1.1 removed this exploit which let you grind points (and time bonuses) really quickly in the castle mode, letting players get up to 13,500 points within 3 mins. This made it easier to complete 80% of the castle quests for the '年末の大掃除'/'Spring Cleaning' trophy, and also drastically sped up grinding since you can buy XP packs for 5,000 points. Players should revert to v1.00 to re-enable the exploit. Note that the NA & EU stacks were released a year later and thus came pre-patched. Shadows: Awakening | Patch v1.08 made 'Got Gud' unobtainable, but users confirm (here) that the trophy pops normally on v1.00. Sheltered | v1.02 made 'CORRECT CODE' unobtainable, but deleting the patches should make this achievable again on v1.00. Silence (AS) | In v1.00 the trophy "Sherlock Holmes" was bugged. v1.01 fixed the issue, but glitched the "Done. First!" trophy. Sniper Elite 5 | There was a now-patched exploit to get the Authentic difficulty trophy by simply pausing and changing the difficulty just before each mission ends. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed | v1.00 allows you to obtain the trophy Yokozuna (beat all Staff Ghosts in Time Attack) just by playing Sunshine Coast (mirror) and beating the staff ghost on there. This saves you a lot of time and frustration because you just need to beat that ghost as opposed to beating every staff ghost in the game. Soundfall | According to this post, there are some OP weapons in v1.0, however, after the patch the drop rates are 0. If you can play the game without the patch and get the OP weapons you can still use them in the current patch. Spelunky 2 | v1.06 made the trophies 'Speedlunky' and 'Low Scorer' harder by no longer letting you use shortcuts [source]. Stardew Valley | Some trophies are quicker on v1.00 due to "X every Y" requirements being much lower. [citation needed] Subnautica | The game has a debug menu that enabled <30m plat times, but was patched to disable trophies. Should work fine on v1.00. Super Blackjack Battle 2 Turbo Edition | In v1.00, everything except 'Perfect' was obtainable, and in v1.01 (latest patch as of May 2022), everything except 'Insured' is obtainable - so the platinum is currently unobtainable unless you downgrade to v1.00 [source]. Super Mega Baseball 2 | v1.00 has this exploit that trivializes the game's hardest trophy, '#Ego99 Challenge'. Super Pixel Racers | In v1.00, the trophy list is a mess - every unlock condition unlocks an incorrect trophy. One such example is the online trophy I am the Winner - which normally requires 8p to boost - that can be unlocked offline on v1.00 by completing the unlock conditions for Wrench and Hammer, repairing yourself 100 times. Supercar Challenge | For those versions incompatible with the v1.14 patch for the ultimate cheese method, updating to the first patch only (v1.10) makes the AI much easier to win against [source]. Surgeon Simulator | There was a useful glitch prior to v1.02 that popped 'Best Surgeon In The World' after scoring A++ on 6 particular surgeries instead of all 20 of them. It's unclear whether this works on v1.00, v1.01, or both. Table Top Racing: World Tour | There was an exploit to achieve 'Gold! Always Believe In Your Soul!' much easier by just drifting in a donut pattern to accumulate the required drift points. Check out this thread for details (scroll down to Special Events). Multiple patches have crippled/removed this exploit, but deleting the patches to play on v1.00 should do the trick. Tank Mechanic Simulator | Patch 1.07 broke all the "You've fully renovated..." trophies (on both NA+EU). Terraria | Platinum is shorter on v1.00 because several patches have added new gear/pets that have become required for base-game trophies such as 'Armory' and 'Pet Collector'. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth | You can revert to v1.00 on VITA or PS4 and use this seed guide to make all trophies much easier, rendering the game "about 80h tops and 3/10 difficulty" (TheYuriG). The Binding of Isaac: Repentance | A debug menu was accidentally patched into the game in Dec 2021 that let you instantly pop all trophies, but was patched out within days [source]. It is currently unknown what the patch URL is, and whether this exploit exists in the PS4 version (Rebirth). The Brookhaven Experiment | v1.07 rendered 'Executioner' unobtainable, so you'll need to revert to v1.00. The Callisto Protocol | Prior to v1.07, you may increase the game difficulty after the final boss fight and still get the trophy for beating Maximum Security difficulty. The Long Dark | v1.07 removed a debug menu that let players instantly unlock all trophies [source]. v1.00 doesn't seem to have the debug menu, and the oldest recorded patch URL is for v1.21, so this seems irreversible for the time being. The Technomancer | v1.00 features this difficulty exploit which lets players achieve 'Extreme survivor' while playing on Easy difficulty. The Witness | v1.00 contains this exploit for the final puzzle, thereby making 'Challenge' much easier since it gives players as much time as they need to work out the solution. Thief Simulator | The trophy 'A what?' became unobtainable on v1.03, and it was also unobtainable on v1.00, so you'll need to revert to v1.01 using this guide to achieve it. You'll need to start a fresh save and beat the game again, but fortunately the game is shorter on this patch. EDIT: v1.04 fixed the glitch, but you can still downgrade if you want to save some time (see link for details). Titan Quest | This duplication exploit worked on v1.03, but doesn't work on v1.07. It made all trophies quicker & easier. Players should test whether this works on v1.00; if it doesn't, you'll have to find the corresponding patch URL to revert specifically to v1.03. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege | A patch changed most of the trophies, making some harder and some easier. You can revert to v1.00 and use this thread to get 12 trophies easier in Situations mode, saving you potentially dozens of hours. Twisted Metal | There's an infinite ammo exploit on v1.00 (detailed here) that trivializes the campaign, most notably the 'Twisted Gold' trophy. This works with disc copies by rejecting the patches, but there's no known way to revert digital copies yet. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered | You can revert to v1.00 to use tweaks for Brutal difficulty as per this thread. Note that this requires The Nathan Drake Collection because the standalone version was released much later and thus it comes pre-patched. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End | You can revert to v1.00, enjoy the game on a low difficulty setting, and then use this exploit to effortlessly achieve the 3 hardest trophies within minutes: 'Charted! – Speedrun', 'Charted! – Crushing', and 'Sharpshooter'. Vampyr | v1.00 contains this exploitable glitch that lets you get unlimited XP using a USB keyboard. Makes all trophies even easier than they already are. Works with disc & digital. WipEout HD | This glitch prevents the AI from using pickups (like weapons), making 'Elite Campaign Legend' a lot easier. And this glitch lets you effortlessly achieve 'Zone Zeus'. See links for further instructions. Wobbledogs | The trophy "Out Of This World" became unobtainable on v1.01 or v1.02. Now let's see some more exploitable games (please provide links to sources) Edited March 10 by hore Added new games
aZombieDictator
I don't have many details on it, but Binding of Isaac allowed you to use seeds and still unlock trophies. So you could use one overpowered seed to run through the game as every character. And you could use it to get super rare items dramatically reducing plat time and difficulty.

RNumbers
If you're including trophies rendered downright unobtainable, you can include Rack N Ruin, which has one trophy (Dependency) that you cannot get on the latest patch (1.02). I've been unable to get the 1.01 patch link, so you have to go 1.00 for that trophy alone. Battlefield 1 has (had?) a trophy (Taking down giants) that was made much harder through patches. If you have the disc it's very easy to unpatch and obtain, but it hasn't been possible with the digital version till recently. Just saw that the last post of this thread suggests it has been fixed, so perhaps no need to list. Playstation All Stars Battle Royale has a trophy (Character Mastery) that was much easier pre-patch (not sure which version). Again, disc versions have it easy. Not sure if we can down rev PS3 (or Vita) games, but it fits your question otherwise. No fancy methods needed to down rev PS3/Vita games. Brookhaven Experiment and the Executioner trophy was broken with patch 1.07 Mortal Blitz added a new harder difficulty in patch 1.03 that also has to be beaten in order to unlock True Hero trophy. I don't believe that exploit for the trophy in Playstation All Stars Battle Royale (digital) is broken unless a new patch came out after online servers shut down a month or two ago? I could still find a character, switch to their last combo challenge, and do that to unlock the trophy. Probably same for Vita.

With 1.00 "Character Mastery" is a breeze. Edited December 5, 2018 by Smashero
RachelCharlotte
In Uncharted 4 you can skip the speedrun, just completing the game somehow gave you that trophy - but I don't remember the specifics, hopefully there are others who have a better memory. wackt1
The "Love and war" trophy in Black ops 3 on ps4 where the player has to complete the Easter Egg for the Gorod Korovi map (the one with dragons in Stalingrad). A few people have been able to obtain it recently but the majority haven't been able to unlock the trophy. It is because for most, the game crashes before the cutscene ends, preventing the trophy from popping. Activision says they are working on it, but I am 70% sure that it is not going to be patched. The "Run like the Wind" trophy in Grand theft auto 5 where you have to survive 48 hours with a bounty on the Ps3 is also unobtainable without modders hacking your account (which I think is the only way to get it now). Rockstar removed the bounty function in April 2017 and has not brought it back into game yet. Though I need someone to confirm if you can still get bounties on yourself from hijacking non players cars. scemopagliaccioh
Very interesting thread. Back in the 2013 DmC reboot playing unpatched made the building of the style system easier, making the Jackpot! trophy easier, doesn't seem to work on ps4. RNumbers
2 hours ago, Trope Hore said: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale | On PS3 and VITA, you can simply reject the patches and play on v1.00 to obtain 'Character Mastery' faster – you only need to complete the final combo for the trophy to pop. Just to clarify, the "final combo" thing is true regardless of version; the difference is that one specific character's (Drake's) final combo is much simpler in the unpatched version. Another one that falls under "potential": according this this thread, the difficulty of the Bozak Horde DLC for Dying Light was increased with a patch. This would affect a few trophies, probably most notably Things That Go Ka-Boom, which requires you to complete the trial within a certain time limit. Reverting to a lower patch may or may not help (and would force you to play single player). I'll likely try this at some point in the not too distant future.
Zenpai
In Uncharted 2: Remastered, the only way to enable the tweak glitch is by using version 1.00 of the game. Furthermore, it has to be the version included in the Nathan Drake collection, since the standalone Uncharted 2: Remastered came out a year after the Nathan Drake Collection and already comes pre-patched.

I forgot to mention it on @Mako's thread when I did it, since it was 5am and I went to sleep straight after, but Surgeon Simulator can be downgraded with the method that was posted. I haven't tried to get trophies for the game on version 1.00 as I'm not in the mood to work on the game yet, but the link @Trope Hore posted is the method that I used and it worked. Anyone else is free to try it with that information, the game goes on nearly every sale so it's worth waiting for the next one for any serious trophy hunter to find out.

AvengedEvil
There has been a great exploit which made We need to go Deeper - Gold for Gauntlet a lot easier. Sadly, it has been patched a while ago. It might still work if you use the "revert to v1.00" method. 31 minutes ago, Trope Hore said: i've been suggested some more games to add like Orc Slayer and Claire (NA), so i'll look into those tomorrow The PS4 version of Claire has been patched in the NA but not in the EU store. itachi-destroyer
When a developer change the requirement of a trophy does it change because of a new patch on a game or do they directly change the requirement on the trophy list ? Because if the change is on the trophy list itself, Mortal Blitz wouldn't be possible even if the game is unpatched. I'll play the game "soon" anyway but it would be nice to know if I can avoid to unpatch the game for nothing since I've never done it and I'm not really good at these kind of thing. The game will recognise whatever caused the trophy to unlock on the version of the game you're playing. If you do those requirements on the old patch for the game, the trophy will unlock regardless of how PSN itself has been programmed.
