Popular Post QQ_Liu_Xin_Rui
EASY WAY TO GET MVP: No boosting required with friends. I've gotten MVP about 40-50 times between team games and FFA games in showdown series. I run with 2 friends and we do the 16-people lobby since there are less randoms on our team. From my experience: 80-85% of the time, the "correct" person gets MVP. I noticed sometimes the person who "should be" the MVP doesnt get MVP. There were quite a few games where I should have been MVP and didnt get it and a few games where another person should have been but I got it. In "name your weapon", it is usually the guy with the most kills that get MVP, not the guy with the most points (even though tomahawk kills are worth 6 and repeater kills are worth 1). But at least you can see a reasoning why the person got the MVP even though you may disagree with the reasoning. In hostile territories, I noticed sometimes a really shitty player gets MVP for no reason (not the most kills or captures so you cant see the reasoning). As I play more and more, I noticed in some 4-teams or 8-teams hostile territory games, I would need to try to hold down and defend a flag by myself for an entire game since multiple teams are coming at me. By the end of the game, I got the MVP even though I did not get the most kills (maybe 3rd most or 4th most) and not the most captures (only capped 1 position and defended it) whereas teammates capped 3-4 or other enemy players capped 3-4 positions. So as it turns out - in hostile territories, you can get the MVP by holding down a position for the most amount of time within the position as long as your team holds the position even if there are enemies contesting it, as long as you are not dead - they cant cap it until they kill you and during that time, it still counts as holding a position (cant be defending it from far away, you character has to be in the circle of the position). Your team is NOT REQUIRED to win the game. Your team can lose and you can still get MVP. I tried this out with a friend since he needed 1 more MVP and he is always a "middle-of-the-pack" player or ""upper-middle" player in FFA and I always score higher in both FFA and team games. But I told him to just stay on the flag and defend it and he got the last MVP he needed. In short: if you are really struggling - wait for hostile territories mode whether its 2-teams or 4 teams or 8 teams in a 16 player lobby (easiest if its 2 teams) and just cap a position near your spawn at the start of the game and try to stay there for the entire game - you arent exactly helping the team at all since sometimes you dont even need to defend it (especially if there are only 2 teams). But its a way to get the MVP easily and YOU DON'T NEED FRIENDS to boost this with. I see almost everyone is recommending horse races - that is a good idea if you have friends and you play often. If you dont play often, chances are by now there are plenty of other higher rank players that have gotten better horses, upgraded saddles and equipment so lower horse stamina drainage rate - that if you join a lobby now, even with friends it would be very difficult. Also there could be other players teaming up and going for it as well and disrupting you and your friends. EDIT: Keep in mind this post was made in December 2018, pretty much only 2 weeks after RDR2 Online launched and was in beta stage, there was no Gun Rush or anything at that time for me to suggest. Although that is still not a preferred method since you still have to be the best player or survive the longest if its battle royale and since the battle royale modes isnt like COD or Fortnite or other games where the final circle varies every single game, in RDR2 the final circle on a particular map is always that specific area. So players with more map knowledge would be in that final circle already as it winds down and be in power position to camp you out and gun you down. So in the end, if you want to win in gun rush, you actually have to play a lot to know the maps, know the circles and have to win the final battle as well... So it can be a grind if you don't have the gun skills. Plus, if you are a new player and you are going against players around level 100+, you just don't have the ability cards either to outgun him. Same with races, it's about knowing the races and developing good routes for open races which requires practice. I mean I've since won like at one point 10 open races in a row, but it requires a grind that some players may not be willing to go through. I made the post back in December 2018 for players that are struggling and this is the quickest guaranteed method. Last thing - Hostile territories was easy to show up earlier when the game first launched. There was only 3-4 modes. Most Wanted (FFA), name your weapon (FFA), name your weapon (team-based of 2, 4, 6, or 8 teams), and hostile territories (team based of 2, 4, 6, or 8 teams). So you could basically stay in the same lobby the entire time and just enjoy the other modes as well while waiting for this mode to show up. Now obviously rockstar has change the playlist a bit. So it may be more tricky nowadays. Edited August 7, 2020 by QQ_Liu_Xin_Rui

ihadalifeb4this
I still think it's easier to win open race solo than this. In race card abilities have lot less effect, there's no difference in guns you use between you and high level, and there's no auto aim. Giving lower level player better fighting and surviving chance. Plus fighting is not really what you have to focus on in open race. My advice for open race would be to either look up online for best line through checkpoints, or like i did figure out who's good at it in your loby and try to follow them to learn path. Avoid fight unless you are neck to neck at end for first place. Also if you have ultimate edition from what i was told you get horse with same speed and stamina as the thoroughbred you unlock with 18 gold bars at level 51. I don't have ultimate edition so i can't confirm this myself. Of course you also want to max bond with your horse. I'm not saying that tactic suggested by QQ_Liu_Xin_Rui won't work for you. I just think it will take you lot more luck and/or lot better loadout than in open race. However i didn't test out his method and i could be red dead wrong on this. Edit: Blackwater is shortest open race, but i advice you to learn route for at least 3 open race. djippps
On races, it is much more about knowing the maps, and strategies and luck of course. The level is not so important (if you play with agressive players spending their time to shoot, it can be crazy of course). For smoke-checkpoints races, I never waste time by shooting other players, I only focus on the checkpoints and imo: - Hard : Blackwater and Tumbleweed : very quick, requires luck not to fall by encountering other horses - Medium : Valentine - Easy : Rhodes and Saint-Denis are really easy if you know the good paths, little probability to encounter players (and a lot of players waste time by roaming on the map) I would say : do not be impressed by high-leveled players with the best horses. Many of them are really bad about races ?
SarcalogosVermis
With regards to standard races, I found that giving everyone else a head-start helps. Everyone tends to get caught up in trying to take the lead early on and a lot of players crash into each other and die since they're all bunched together. If you purposely stay behind for a while you can avoid these potentially violent situations, and then start to catch up with the leaders. If your timing is good, you should be able to collect newly-spawned weapons and stamina boosts as you do so (it's always worth collecting the latter, even if you have to go slightly off-course to do so). Dead-eye helps in taking out more aggressive players, but don't antagonise people too much; this can backfire. I usually only start shooting at people if a). they're harassing me (I stop, let them pass, then pursue and aim for their head), or b). the end is in sight and there's a good chance I could win with some accurate shooting. By no means will this method guarantee a hot winning streak, but I honestly believe there's no point in charging ahead from the get-go. I've been winning more races since I started to hang back for the first few checkpoints than I was before I adopted this strategy. Admittedly my win/loss ratio is not good, but hey, I got the trophy doing this! My personal favourite racecourses for this method are Pike's Basin and Fort Wallace.
IoIly
To get this trophy easy you need to find Races lobby with only 4-7 people in. The best time to find such lobby is about 3-7 am GMT
Sikutai
I did this Trophy in the Beginning with races only. But then everybody was new. After I had the Throphy i was 7-9 times MvP in Gun Rush in 2019. Maybe this Battle Royal Mode would be something for you? waterfields1
I just got it - don't waste your time on races - Hostile Territory and just camp out the whole match in the nearest area - if you get killed just run to the nearest again.

Inuty
Didn´t had any experience in RDO since yesterday. This Topic make me think, that I should try it to get the MVP trophy out of the way. Not sure if I did something wrong but I wasn´t even able to participate on an Hostile Territory game because I could only join series and it never showed up. Funny enough I got the trophy in 3 different maps as MVP even if I was garbage in killing People because with Level 1 you just get wrecked by the other Players and their weapons I was getting MVP in one of the supply maps where you Need to steal it from the other Team and get it back. In this map in my opinion it depends on how many suppliers you steal and if someone has the same amount it depends on the kills. But once one guy had 16 kills and no supply steals so maybe this changed if you have a high enough number of kills. Second MVP was in this fortness / garrison map where you Need to hold more flags then the other Team. Just run like a lunatic to all the flags and flagged them for my Team. In the end I had after 3 round round about 31 flagged flags and some kills and got MVP. Second one got round about 20 flags but more kills then me. Last one was the map where you Need to bomb the Opponents camp. I just delivered 3 times a bomb in the other camp with 0 kills. Second one had bombed the other camp 2 times and between 5-10 kills. If there is a possibility to choose a specific mode like Hostile Territories I would go for that, but I didn´t find a Option in the Internet oder ingame. Maybe I was just to stupid to find it
HOGIE838EIRE
This worked great. I stayed in territory A while they were all fighting over territory B and even though in the beginning I got killed twice I still earned MVP. 1 down 2 to go, only trouble is waiting for the mode to come up... lucky0ne16
I did the camping near points because I plain suck at playing. Playing the capture the flag and stay near point is best. rockstarjazz
how is it possible to boost this if you cant even manually select the race or game you want to play, and it always has randoms in the lineup?

You need to wait for that mode to come up it's a pain alright! Once in it most players will fight over two sections (i.e. - A and B) so you just hang out in C and defend yourself from attackers. Having spent the most time in a section you will obtain MVP no problem.
Mr_Buzzinka
you dont need to know any route for open target races. just rush to the biggest blip on the minimap...it is the nearest one to you. thats how i got 3 MVP easily...though i had to do 4 for the trophy with at least 4 players in the match
