  1. 1. Another year Monthly Madness?

    • Count me in!
    • Depends on the themes
    • Thanks, I'll pass

Recommended Posts

I think I found one more to add. Tell me if you agree or not.

Guacamelee!: Super Turbo Championship Edition: Goat Fly, a skill that allows you to fly from one wall to another.

If this does counts:

  • Counts towards a different PSNP event: Bingo
  • Fulfills the Hardcore requirement
  • Completed all currently released DLC: 'Frenemies' Character Pack
  • Started this month

If it doesn't, oh well. I'm going to go play either Trine 3 or Assassin's Creed Syndicate and wait for the next challenge to start.

Edit: One last game. This one I know counts.

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power: Zoya has her Grappling Hook to swing on things and Pontius has his shield to glide.

  • Fourth game this month.
  • Fulfills the Hardcore requirement
  • Started this month

And, my 4th game of the month is Castlevania. I don't know if turning into a bat by Alucard counts, but at the beginning of Rondo of Blood, you ride a coach and horses to the castle, fighting Death along the way. You are ferried by a ferryman multiple times, and even ride rafts down a waterfall.

So, this has been a very productive month all in all. I knocked out almost all challenges!

My current stats:

Plats: 329

Completed Games: 405

Completion%: 82.57%

Just ?% completed Datura today. Most of the game you are walking but you also travel in an ambulance, a police car & you drive a vehicle.

This game also fits the challenge "Complete a game that counts towards another PSNP Event" (event is Spring 2019 Backlog Challenge) and I believe it also counts for "Complete a Game in which you got your first trophy a year ago" but I am not sure as my first trophy I got was over a year ago on 7/7/2017 (a little over a year and eight months).

That puts me at two Y04dodB.png and one ?% towards this month's challenge.

New Stats:

Platinum trophies: 32
100% completed: 42
Completion: 30.59%

Pulled in a 4th game for this month: Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (PS3)

Challenges completed:

  • Hardcore (Magic brooms mostly)
  • Started this month
  • 4 games in a month

I'm not sure what game I'll go for for April, but with the remaster challenge, I'm guessing a bunch of people will be able to get the 10-year old challenge.

I got a 100% game that should count for March's theme yesterday. Q*bert: Rebooted. Normally you jump around the pyramid of cubes but there are discs on the side that you can ride to the top of the pyramid. Does it count as HC? I don't know how the discs work, is there an engine underneath it or is it video game magic? I guess it would've also counted for April's theme but I ended up beating it in March. I guess there's always the PS3 stack :awesome:

Two done this month. Might have had more if I didn't fail at InFamous: First Light or pick two strategy/sims where it's not you riding around. Whoops.

1Sc4ba6f.pngDragon Quest XI

-Hardcore (you get a horse early on, and really random other things as you progress)

-Different event (Bingo)

Spyro 2 (railway cart and absolutely pointless miniplane pulled by a boat)

-Different event (Bingo)

-Started this month

-10 year old game? (original released in 1999)

stats:

Platinum trophies: +6
100% completed: +7
Completion: +0.35%

Loved Dragon Quest, aside from the casino trolling me for 8+ hours. Easily the best jRPG I've played in ages - got good and caught up in the story, characters (both in your party and not) have personality, you get a nice variety of places to explore, combat's good if slightly confusing - the enemy gets to smack me three times in a row why? Sadly, the music's a weak point; it's not bad, but it's not high quality and gets really repetitive after a while. Nearly a hundred hours of what felt like the same ~5 songs for most of it. Here's hoping PS4 gets the extra content and the orchestrated option to go with it somewhere down the line.

Only Child of Light and a gold rank for me this month. March was a pretty busy ordeal.

It qualifies for the following:

Complete a game that counts towards a different PSNP event. [Bingo Bonanza 2019]

Complete a game that fulfills the Hardcore requirement of that month.

- Complete a game you started in that month

Stat Changes:

Platinum trophies: +6
100% completed: +12
Completion: 1.62%

Just got God of war done. Should qualify as HC since you're rowing a boat in Midgard to get all collectibles. Also counts for another event (bingo bonanza)

My new stats:

Platinum trophies: 31 (+5)
100% completed: 33 (+7)
Completion: 53.29% (+3.36%)

The only requirement for the over a year challenge is the first trophy being unlocked at least one year ago. It also can be two or even five years ago.

Remakes/Remaster count for the 10 year challenge. I guess that's the ? for.

I counted the game but not for the hardcore.

Normaly I thought about if the player character has to use his own strenght to move. It sound that you are just standing on the platform and get moved.

I'm not quite sure if I took the right trophy picture for this game. I think the one I picked is for completing the story. Let me know should I have taken the wrong one.

Everything up to this post should be updated. As always let me know if I missed something. With this mass of conten to update there could be missed something easily.

Next are the reminder for the people who haven't submitted a game for March yet. This time they are:

@Ampplaca @cerafinn @Dessane @Dinkus83 @diskdocx @Howling-Lady @Kittet3 @Psy-Tychist @The_Accountant13

Last a reminder to those people who haven't posted since three month. According to rule 9 I'm going to move you to the inactive list if you don't post a game for March in the next few day. You then can rejoin by posting again.

April's theme will be "Too good to be forgotten"

Did you ever think: "That games was very good. A shame that I can't play it on my consoles."

Then this month might be for you.

Every game that got the remake/remaster treatment counts for this month. But beware: Only proper remaster/remakes count, no mere ports.

Example: The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune Remastered, LEGO City Undercover (PS4), God of War 3 Remastered

Want to go a bit more hardcore? Then you have to play any remaster/remake of a game released on a console prior to the PS3/XBox 360.

Examples: Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Resident Evil 2

March update for me

i completed 3 for sure

  • Rogue Aces - main mechanic of the game has you flying in a plane, but you also have to use a parachute to hijack other planes. I’m not sure if a parachute would count for the hardcore requirement?
  • Riddled Corpses EX - one of the levels is side scrolling with you riding a motorcycle
  • State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem - you use a car to get around the open world earth sections, and in space you use a space ship

All 3 of the above were started and completed this month. Let me know about the HC requirement for the parachute in Rogue Aces

i have one other questionable game - finished Detroit this month. There are a number of scenes with you in cars/taxis, but these are not controlled by the player so I don’t know if that counts. If it doesn’t that’s cool. If it does, then I should have hit the bonus 4 completions in a month category.

Finally, stats update (didn’t get to this for Jan/Feb, so I’ll do a year to date summary

  • Platinum count +26 (625 start, 651 current)
  • 100% completed +31 (908 start, 939 current)
  • Completion -0.58% (99.33% start, 98.75% current)

Stats at the end of March:
   Platinum trophies: this month 22 (+5) / all year (+9);
   100% completed: this month 29 (+5) / all year (+12);
   Completion: 46.32% this month (+4.8%) / this year (+5.64%).

That was a great month overall, before January I thought that going for 50% completion was a dream, but all events that I'm participating here on PSNP is really helping stay focused. Now a game that I left behind at the beginning of this year is my main game next month, so Spyro it is, I'm happy to play a game that I love so much. :D

Updated stats

Platinums 129

Completion percentage 71.00%

Last minute update on the last day of March:

I completed the story in Kingdom Hearts III today and achieved Y04dodB.png in XBlaze Code: Embryo.

XBlaze Code: Embryo fits the challenge "Complete a game that counts towards another PSNP Event" (event is Spring 2019 Backlog Challenge) and also "Complete a game you started this month". As one of the modes of travel are swimming (the other is a cruise type ship) it fits the "Complete a game that fulfills the Hardcore requirement for this month".

I'm not sure if KH3 can be used towards challenges as only the story was completed but if so it fits the challenge "Complete a game that counts towards another PSNP Event" (event is Spring 2019 Backlog Challenge) and also "Complete a game that fulfills the Hardcore requirement for this month" (using a shield as a sort of sled being the main one but also riding Simba from Lion King).

I've also achieved the challenge "Complete four games in one month".

That puts me at three Y04dodB.png , one 1f4af.png% & one game that I simply finished the story towards this month's challenge.

New Stats:

Platinum trophies: 33
100% completed: 43
Completion: 31.12%

So for March I got 3 plat's and I re-100% Final Fantasy Comrades so that last one doesn't count really. Rayman Legends is the only one that counts for the challenge but gets HC status for the mosquito thing you get to ride on. Here's my new stats:

This month:

Platinum trophies: +3 79~>82
100% completed: +2 86~>88
(Damned FFXV...)
Completion: -0.02% 96.96%~>96.94%

This year:

Platinum trophies: +8 74~>82
100% completed: +9 79~>88
Completion:
+0.66% 96.28%~>96.94%

I'm in good shape for April's theme since I'll be playing the Kingdom Hearts series from start to finish. I'll also finish up the Ardyn FFXV DLC that was added this past week.

My stats at the end of March:
Platinums 55 (+2 from the start of march, +1 since joining this event)
100%: 58

Completion: 49,19%

Question for the april theme: I want to go for Patapon Remastered on PS4, the game was first released on PSP. Does that count for the hardcore challenge or not?
The system was released earlier than ps3, but i could also see it counting as the same era as ps3

Well, it's April 1st, but no foolin' - I'm done with this month already! I give you Spyro the Dragon. It's also hardcore.

Current Stats:

Plats: 330 (+14)

Completed games: 406 (+14)

Completion%: 82.61% (+.84%)

Also, thanks for the update! I just want to mention that I finished 4 games last month (Farcry: Primal, Tales of Hearts R, Jak and Daxter, Castlevania). I think I have only one challenge remaining (DLC challenge, which will be the toughest for me, since I've committed not to spend this year).

Get the LEGO DC Villans game, or one of the older LEGO games since they are quick/fun games, and have cheap DLC

You could also do Guacamelee, which has DLC for like a couple of bucks and was a free Plus game.

Only the one game, Old Man's Journey, for me this month's theme.  Multiple travel modes give it up for HC mode as well.  No other challenges.

Stat changes:

March

Plats: +5

100%: +5

Completion Rate: -0.91%

Event

Plats: 159 (+17 for the event)

100%: 207 (+18 for the event)

Completion Rate: 82.45% (+0.34% for the event)

Working on my backlog should help get me stuff for this month's theme so hopefully no worries on that front.

The trick is finding DLC for a game that fits the theme for the month and doing it all.

That's a good point. I did Guac in Jan, when it was part of the monthly theme. That obviously wouldn't work now.

A couple of options that would work for this month - Bioshock PS4 remasters (DLC is free) and the Uncharted Collection which also has DLC
