I mean, I saw the final trailer and it was really dark, it made me wonder if everyone is going to... well, it was scary stuff. Trophy speculation for KH3 aside, I think the rule for the Speedrun category invalidates the Speedster trophy: 2 hours ago, eigen-space said: 7) Speed Run Trophies -- Ain't nobody got time for that. Complete a game that requires you to beat a certain boss, level, entire games, etc within a specified time limit for a trophy. Yes, that trophy would work as the time scale is real-world time (what I'm trying to avoid is people choosing games where certain in-game actions deplete in-game time... like how a certain side quest may take half a day of in game time regardless of how much real-world time you spend on it). I'll try to re-word that requirement to make it more clear. And if you need examples of "unpopular" games, I have plenty that have low player counts but were actually really good games... just... not well known 12 minutes ago, Kevvik said: Is a list mandatory prior to entry or can we just fill as we go the way we did with Gaming by Numbers? Sofa King
Perfect timing for this since I'm out of work for a couple of months from knee surgery. Sounds like fun so I'll give it a go. Not a problem. Just to clarify, for the base game completion rate we are talking about trophy rarity, right? So if the game has a plat it needs to be >80% or <5% to be blessed for the event, not an average completion rate of over 80% or less than 5%? IE - Hollow Knight has a plat with 3.29% rarity but a completion rate of 22%. Games without a plat would require to have at least 1 UR trophy to count for #2 similar to the DLC rule? For #9 (peripherals, and I may be screwing myself here), will a game be considered where the peripherals are not mandatory? For example, games that are compatible with but do not necessarily require VR (such as RE7)?

For #9 (peripherals, and I may be screwing myself here), will a game be considered where the peripherals are not mandatory? For example, games that are compatible with but do not necessarily require VR (such as RE7)? Yes, it's completion percent (platinum rarity) rather than rate. Non-plat games also have their own completion percent rarity, so they'd use that (ex-- Song of the Deep (NA) has a 15.92% completion percent whereas its most rare trophy is 18.89%); the only time trophies would have to be looked at in the case of a non-plat game is when the game also has DLC, as the completion percentage will get fudged by the addition of the DLC. For peripherals, the game needs to require the peripheral/accessory. So RE7 wouldn't count. A good rule of thumb on finding games with required accessories is to look at the game on the PlayStation Store. They will mention that the use of an additional device is required underneath the system specifications, whereas games that don't necessarily need it will only mention that it's compatible (for example, Moss mentions that VR is required but RE7 says it's VR compatible). The exception to the rule is if there's an actual trophy that requires the use of the device, even if the entire game doesn't require it. Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
Thinking over the accessories required category? Here's a couple lower cost ideas! Playlink Games are ones you can connect to with a smartphone or tablet for free once you have the game and all are on the cheaper side. So there isn't much investment. They each have their own individual app and not just one Playlink app that services them all. I've played most of these as they've been free with PS Plus several times. I'd recommend Hidden Agenda for this event. It only requires 2 players and most trophies are solo-able. If you're competent with a PC you can spoof it and join your own game multiple times to meet player requirements for some of the other games. There's a forum post somewhere on PSNP on how to do it. Found it! It is explained in the trophy guide for That's You! https://psnprofiles.com/guide/6202-thats-you-trophy-guide I don't actually advocate this; but if you want to take advantage of GameStop's return policy, You can buy used games/accessories and return within 7 days for any reason. You can use them like an unwitting free rental service. That opens up a whole slew of games that you can quickly get 100% in with other accessories. Playlink Games Uno - $9.99 - Doesnt require play link so doesn't work for this event. Don't pick it! Hidden Agenda - $4.99 - Choose your own adventure-type game. In single player mode you can easily bang out all the story trophies. Similar to playing Until Dawn or Heavy Rain over again for different outcomes. Story is about 2 hours long. The multiplayer portion gives you a hidden agenda that you need to try to accomplish by swaying where the game is going. You still play through the story but everyone has a vote when decisions get made and majority rules. So you have to try to lie/convice people to vote the way you want to fulfill your agenda or use power plays to override the majority. You can earn by being the fastest to locate clues or swiping to dodge obstacles etc. I'd suggest playing blindly with a friend and then doing single player clean-up. That's You - $4.99 - Trivia Game that has you guessing information about your friends and family. Have to get up to 6 local MP players in games for trophies so can be a pain. This is actually a lot of fun and can get inappropriate fast if your friends are like mine! Frantics - $9.99 - Mini-game stuff kind of like Mario Party. Need to have 4 players for one of the trophies. Knowledge is Power - $4.99 - General trivia in a game show format. Another one where you need to get up to 6 players locally. Can be fun with friends. Just Deal With It - $19.99 - New one so I'm not familiar. Looks like a compilation of card games with some RNG trophies like "Play a Full House in Poker" and maybe some grindy stuff like getting $50 million dollars. Has online MP and not just local. Melbit's World - $19.99 - Cutesy-looking puzzle-platformer. Need 4 players for one of the trophies. Release 12/31/18. Ticket To Ride - $19.99 - I believe this has glitched trophies so I would avoid for this event. Singstar - Free (but not really) - Singstar also Requires PS Camera as well for a couple trophies. You'll need to invest roughly $15 into buying music for the game. You can buy Singstar Celebration used at Gamestop for $2.99 when I last looked and that has plenty of music for the platinum. Your phone is the microphone, if you use playlink. There are other easier karaoke games where you can just use any old microphone though. So play one of those instead. Let's Sing/We Sing/Just Sing/Everyone Sing etc. WordHunters - $19.99 - Looks like a bunch of word games like Boggle with easy trophies except a 6 player game requirement. Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier - $19.99 - Another narrative game to explore the Planet of the Apes Universe. I haven't played, but don't see any hard trophies and it has a 33%+ plat rate so I don't think its too tough. Looks pretty but rating are bad enough to qualify this for the bad rep category. Chimparty - $19.99 - Another goofy mini-game thing with a 4 player requirement on some trophies. ladynadiad
I'm shocked you didn't include missable trophies or trophies that can only be done on a NG+. But count me in. Won't get the extra special since I don't play MP games ever and don't have any peripherals, but completing 5 should be doable. I know a good UR pick would be for me to finally get off my butt and do the PS4 stack of Ys Origin since I know that's doable in a reasonable timeframe. I know a good UR pick would be for me to finally get off my butt and do the PS4 stack of Ys Origin since I know that's doable in a reasonable timeframe. Those were both considerations, but it's very hard for people to know if there are missables or NG+ trophies ahead of time if there isn't a guide or extensive forum discussion about it (and also would make my life much more difficult trying to verify that games are OK for categories)... also didn't want to get into the gray area of if games having Chapter Select can't have missables because you can easily go back to a chapter / negates NG+... or if using save slots smartly (like for games that have different character endings) would count as a second play through because *technically* you're only supposed to get one ending per play through.... etc. Too messy for my tastes I'm glad you're joining up again! I like reading all your commentary on games, and especially interested in what you have to say about Ys since that's been in my backlog for a while now.
