Popular Post eigen-space
10 Things I Hate About Games We all know what kinds of games we like to play, and we all probably have types of games that we vow never to play for one reason or another. This event brings forth 10 of the most commonly-hated types of games or trophies, and event participants will play them without prejudice (but maybe a little bit of disdain). Note - Please list any game completions in this thread. @gruffiiti and @BigHonkingOne are currently taking lead on making updates to the Google Sheets document. Categories 1) EZPZ Games -- What do I look like, a trophy whore? Play a game that has an 80% or higher PSNP Rarity for the Base Game (eg, a ≥80% Platinum). If playing a DLC, all DLC trophies have to be 80% rarity or higher. Game/DLC must be at least 1 month old. Examples: My Name is Mayo, Aabs Animals, Jack N' Jill DX 2) Ultra Rare Games -- This Hollow Knight game looks really cute... let me check out the trophies first... *click* 3.28% Platinum Rarity? Hahaha.... nope. Play a game that has less than 5% PSNP Rarity for Base Game completion (eg, a <5% Platinum). If playing a DLC, at least one trophy has to be below 5% rarity. Game/DLC must be at least 1 month old. Examples: Hollow Knight, Super Meat Boy, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time 3) Platinum-Less Games -- Why settle for anything less than platinum? Play a game that lacks a platinum trophy. Examples: Hatoful Boyfriend, Child of Light, Hitman 4) Unpopular Games -- Literally no one else wants to play this... that can't be a good sign... Game must have fewer than 1500 PSNP game owners, or fewer than 700 PSNP DLC owners. Game/DLC must be at least 1 month old. Tip: You can sort games by Owner Count by going to Games --> Sort By User Count; Pages 82+ will have the qualifying games. Examples: Earthlock, The Banner Saga 3, Wizard of Legend 5) Games with DLC -- Those money-grubbing devs and publishers!!! Releasing incomplete games and then expecting us to pay for the additional content?! *shakes fist* Complete a DLC pack for a game. If there are multiple DLC packs, this is the only category where you only have to complete 1 DLC pack for the category to count. Examples: Final Fantasy XV (7 DLC Packs), L.A. Noire (5 DLC Packs), Rocket League (9 DLC Packs) 6) Difficulty-Related Trophies -- If the developers really wanted the game to be competed on Insane Mode, they wouldn't have included an Easy Mode, right? Complete a game that requires you to beat a certain boss, level, entire game, etc on a particular difficulty for a trophy. At least one difficulty-related trophy must be earned during the event. Examples: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered - Charted! - Crushing, BioShock - Seriously Good at This, The Last of Us Remastered - No Matter What - Survivor 7) Speed Run Trophies -- Ain't nobody got time for that. Complete a game that requires you to beat a certain boss, level, entire games, etc within a specified time limit for a trophy. The time mechanic must be real-world time rather than an in-game time mechanic; a further explanation would be that you can use a game which requires non-consecutive real-time (like if you pause or quit a game and it stops the timer), but you cannot use games that have in-game time mechanics, such as Atelier Rorona where traveling to a dungeon may take 4 in-game days but really only takes a few seconds of real-time. At least one speed run trophy must be earned during the event. Examples: Tales of Grace f - Lambda in 60 Seconds, Shadow of the Colossus - Speed Demon, Kingdom Hearts - Speedster 8) Multiplayer Trophies -- The event runner's personal most-hated category... Complete a game where you are required to play with other people either versus or co-op for a trophy. Games where you can substitute AI do not count (but no one will really know if you're using an extra controller as "Player 2"). At least one MP trophy must be earned during this event. Alternately, if there is not a trophy that can prove you played with other people, you can boost/play with another PSNP forum member during the event and have them vouch for you (the verifier must have joined the PSNP forum before Dec 1 2018). Examples: Overcooked 2 - Battered!, Tekken 7 - Not Bad, Fat Princess Adventures - Winner Winner 9) Games Requiring Peripherals/Accessories -- You mean I need to download an app for that or play with a plastic guitar? Lame. Play a game that requires VR, PlayLink, Camera, Move Controllers, musical instruments, or microphones. Turbo controllers, rubber bands, extra dualshock controllers, PS Vita, Playstation TV, PS+, etc don't count, and games that are merely compatible with a certain peripheral will only count if there is a specific trophy that requires the peripheral. Note: PlayLink is free, and check this comment for additional tips on peripherals. Examples: Hidden Agenda, That's You!, Knowledge is Power 10) Games with a Bad Reputation -- This game is crap-- all the critics say so. Game must have a Metacritic Metascore of less than 60 or a Metacritic User Score of less than 5.0 for the version you're playing (so if the PS4 version ranks a 61 but the Switch version ranks at a 59, it won't count). The game must be at least 1 month old. Examples: Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, Fallout 76, Syberia Rules 1) Please follow the guidelines posted in the rules when picking your games and ask questions if something isn't clear. The categories were designed to be cut-and-dry as I don't want to be policing people's choices. You will be held to the category definitions 2) You can pick and change your games at any time during the event, however you will be held to the data on your game at the time of announcing your game. For example, if you decide to pick a game that has a 4.99% completion rate for the Ultra Rare category and don't announce it as your pick until after you've completed it, and your completion bumps it up to 5.01% completion, this game will no longer count for that category. This is important for categories #1, 2, 4, and 10. 3) You may only use a game for 1 category during the event. You will be allowed to swap categories if you choose, but keep in mind Rule 2. The only exception to this is if you stack a game; so long as the stack isn't auto-popped, you can use a game as many times as you have completed it during the event. 4) Your game can be counted toward the category once you have 100% of the base game completed. If you have already completed the base game before the event, you can choose to fully complete the game entry by getting 100% of all DLCs. The only category this doesn't apply to is #5 - Games with DLC, in which you only need to complete 1 DLC pack. 5) You can pick games which you started before the event. However, keep in mind that categories #6, 7, and 8 require the particular trophy type to be earned during the event. Note-- completing just the trophy type DOES NOT count for category completion; you still need to complete 100% of the base game (or 100% overall) per Rule 4. Example: If you have 78% completion for Syberia before the event starts, you can use it for the speedrun category so long as you haven't already gotten the "Old School" trophy before the event AND get 100% completion by the end of the event. 6) Sign-ups begin NOW and will end on January 31, 2019. The event will start at 12:01 AM MST on January 12, 2019 run through 11:59 PM MST on March 31, 2019. Click on the links for countdown timers so you can be sure you're using the right time zone! To Make My Life Easier: When picking your categories, I would appreciate using the following format for clarity purposes as well as making it easy for me to double check that your game is appropriate for a given category. You can copy and paste this format into your post. You don't need to pick your games at sign-up or even until you complete them, but remember Rule #2. Blank Format: Spoiler Category Game (With Region/Version) Qualifier EZPZ Completion % Ultra Rare Completion % Platinum-Less Unpopular # Owners DLC DLC Pack # / Name Difficulty Trophy Name(s) Speed Run Trophy Name(s) MP Trophy Name(s) Peripherals Peripheral Used Bad Rep Metascore or User Score Here is a filled-out example: Spoiler Category Game Qualifier EZPZ My Name is Mayo (PS4) 96.56% Completion Ultra Rare Hollow Knight (NA) 3.28% Completion Platinum-Less Song of the Deep (NA) Unpopular Whispering Willows (NA Vita) 815 Owners DLC Final Fantasy XV (NA) DLC Pack 2: Episode Prompto Difficulty Alice: Madness Returns Madness Prevails, ETC Speed Run Tales of Graces f (NA) Lambda in 60 Seconds, ETC MP Overcooked Does not play well with others Peripherals Hidden Agenda PlayLink Bad Rep Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn 36 Metascore What's In It For Me? General satisfaction that you're unbiased against certain game types! .....and event badges! People who complete 5 categories will receive a badge Though there are no bonus badges for this event, badges for participants who complete all 10 categories will be even more grand, more special, and more awesome than the standard badge! @BigHonkingOne is the creative mastermind behind the badges once again! Participants Here is a Google Sheets Spreadsheet tracking all participants with their vetted chosen games and completions. Feel free to use it as a reference when picking your games! If you have mentioned your game(s) in this thread, they will be listed in the spreadsheet, and game completions will be highlighted in green once they are mentioned as being completed in this thread; I will not be checking profiles this time around to keep up with completions. Han_the_Dragon
I'm still struggling with the other event (thanks to SE mainly..), and this sounds impossible with my current limitations/restrictions (time to play and platinum "allowed"). Still, if I read right, I can complete this event with just 1 platinum, right? If that's right, I will try to get a list done, since I still have a few (20+ maybe) trophy less games on my backlog... Still the EZPZ will maybe a challenge ?, while I play a bit of everything, I don't really play that many games with a completion rarity that high all that often.. As for the plaf for me it's easy, I will make Dark Cloud 1 plat my 12k trophy (was lucky yesterday and finely got 3 Bandit's Slingshot in a row in 5 minutes... After grinding last month for 10 hours and getting none.. Ya, the RNG was trolling me hard..).

SuperSmash5U
Sign me up. I can't get the extra-special badge, since I am never going to do the Peripheral category(unless someone loans me a VR set and I don't intend to use PlayLink since I don't know how sketchy it is), but I can think of ideas for five of the categories.

Just found 2/3 candidates for me "speed Run", 1 obvious for the UR (about half the trophies are UR, but the game isn't supposed to be hard at all with a guide ?), and I have way to many on the work dlc, so that's easy too, plus the Plat (Dark Cloud) and Plat-less game (a random one..), also have 1 with online on my backlog that was to be used on the Numbers event, if @eigen-space says Syberia is a bad game, so it should be used for that spot ?. In the end, I will be looking for 4 more games or DLC: 1 EZPZ 1 Unpopular 1 Difficulty Related 1 for periferals - wait a sec, LBP2 move dlc work, right, I have that halfway done... You can use games without plats or finish up DLC on already-platted games if you don't want to earn any platinums. Ya, I actually never had seen Syberia called a bad game, but took the cue to add it I will essentially be continue my journey from the Numbers event, since Syberia 1 and 2 (speed run entry options too), Vessel (lots of UR), Backgammon (online) and Sam & Max Beyond Space and Time 1-5, were all already in my backlog and originally to be played during the Numbers event (I will play Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Episode 1 on Christmas day for the Numbers event, and I still hope SE fixes Comrades EU bug by the end of next week... Otherwise I will have to do The Bridge on the last weekend of the year..). I will fill what I can with the DLC from FF15, Comrades (maybe), LBP2 (it's the easiest I can find for the "Periferals" category) and I was thinking in using also Gravity Rush (I'm only missing 1 time trail to 100% tgat trophy list..). Still, this extra step to find games that I would enjoy to play that fulfill the requirements for the event is also part of the fun of joining! Edit: I will only post a formal list after a find something for the 10 spots + a bonus (you forgot to add a category for the RNG...) And now that I'm writing this, I just realized that I have a game for Difficulty requirements (I Am Alive), and it was also part of my original plan for the Numbers event ? 2 to go! SuperSmash5U
Category Game (With Region/Version) Qualifier EZPZ Jack N' Jill DX (PS4) 98.91% Ultra Rare Dark Cloud 2 4.00% Platinum-Less Song of the Deep Unpopular ? DLC Ni no Kuni II Lair of the Lost Lord Difficulty Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Proud Player Speed Run ? MP ? Peripherals ? Bad Rep ? This is my list. The reason I axed the following is listed below: Unpopular/Bad Rep: I know this event is to be unbiased towards any game, but I don't want to set myself up for failure. I might look into the games in this category and try to see if any of them might be interesting to me but not during this event. Multiplayer: I might try Final Fantasy XIV, but I have to move my Square-Enix account to this account before I can do that. Sad because they just added a really interesting DLC in Shadowwalkers. Peripherals: The only periph I am interested in is maybe a VR game but VR would have to be borrowed from my acquaintance as I don't intend to shell out $120 for a VR set just for one game. Speed Run: I know a few games with Speed Run trophies but they are "speed runs" and I could turn off my PS4 and play SSBU between sessions. I don't know any game which requires you to do time trials. Then maybe use Kingdom Hearts 2 (or even 3 as I'm sure it will have a Proud/Critical mode) for Difficulty. I'm sure you'll be getting Kingdom Hearts 3 on release, as I know you're a big Kingdom Hearts fan
