Teammates killing you to get the item. First of all, how did they know you had the item (suppose they were randoms if you say they killed you) and second, when teammates kill you they can't loot your death stash.

That's correct because at the beginning of the launch of the game this was possible and they can hear me saying what I get (yeah my fault) then I quit to finish other games and I came back and since past weekend I was able to unlock 2 characters.

Its not hard to find character items. The only really "hard" to find items are war machine and burned doll. (Especially war machine). The rest can be easily found in their consistent spawn on the map, zombie boxes and drops, and in ammo crates. I could see how it might seem painful for a trophy hunter, but I play for fun and have come accross every item multiple times except for War Machine.

To everyone that worked their ass off doing these legit, take it as a lesson and stop buying games day one. Wait a few months. Especially when it's an annual game like call of duty. Even the Burned Doll. I still find that a lot. Almost every supply stash I open.

let me make it less confusing for you. Iff you couldn't find the character items then you suck at the game plain and simple.  you don't deserve the platinum trophy.  Finding the character item to start the mission is the most important part.  With proper strategy and a bit of practice a person can get efficient at finding the items.  If you were getting team killed you could have jumped in solo.  It's actually much easier getting the placements for the characters in solo if you struggle.  I recommend duos or at leas that is what preferred.  but because you don't have time doesn't mean they should just hand you a trophy others spent 100 plus hours on.  sound like a bunch of snowflakes arguing.."i don't have time", "my teammate killed me," "I couldn't find the items", "it's too hard".  Yet the game has been out only a few months and over 300 people had the achievement from earning it themselves.

The people who complain that something is too hard are usually other people than the ones who say that something is too easy.

 

I don't think anyone asked for the trophy to be a freebie, though. I, for example, only wanted an increased spawn rate for the war machine since it never (or rarely) showed up on supplies after an update in mid November. The spawn rate of the war machine was one of the biggest complaints during the last few weeks. I don't think unlocking every specialist for everyone was the best solution for that, oh well... They probably did it for better skin sales because of people who only play Blackout but couldn't be arsed to do the unlock missions.

I can’t feel sympathy for you guys. I know that sounds harsh but that’s how I honestly feel.

 

Treyarch sounds like a shitty company. But this kind of behavior is what we should be expecting from companies like Activision. 

 

This isn't Activision's fault, it's Treyarch's. They could have just changed the requirements for the trophy, but they didn't because they're too stupid/lazy to bother.

Why I can't have the trophy for free?,it was a decision from Treyarch not mine, I complain yes because the spawn rate of some items was way too low and that's it and Im sorry for you if you have to struggle to obtain them but I also congratulate you for getting them legit, but coming here insulting other players because they're happy they get the trophy for free doesn't make you special, only makes you look like a complete fool...

I can confirm this! In the morning the patch has downloaded, after that I launched a Blackout match and suddenly the trophy popped. Although I didn't refresh my trophy list, but I have now. I had 5 specialist, now I has all. Shame that the Blackout win trophy has not been fixed. I have 2 solo wins, but I don't own the trophy :/

the specialists should have never been locked

they are the main protagonists of the game we all paid anywhere from 60-100$ for

they should have been available from launch

the icons and zombies characters, yeah, make us work for them

Is ok mate, I don't agree with this move from Treyarch I just wanted increased drop rate for the items, also they need to better compensate players that already unlocked the specialist with something more than just skins.

Or pheraps include a message when the game came out saying something along the lines "... will eventually be available for everyone at no cost". Wouldn't have spent 8 solid days in a row of only Blackout if I knew they'd pull this shit (obviously). Whatever, as bad is this is, the damage is minimal at most, at least for me. So long as they don't pull this shit with the Zombie/Icon characters, then whatever.

I mean I just spend the last three weeks about 2 hours a night trying to get certain item drops for some trophies in Dark Souls 3 and I was so relieved when I finally finished it. I can understand the frustration when it comes to RNG and the amount of time it takes to do these kind of trophies. I would be livid if they released a patch for Dark Souls 3 that increased the drop rate exponentially so I can see why those people are frustrated and upset. I guess the point I was getting at is that people always seem to have something to complain about when it comes to these games. But I apologize if I pissed anyone off with my first post. The worst part is, you think you actually deserve that trophy.

 

The only spawn rate that would have troubled you is the War Machine, or Recon´s item if you failed to start playing within a week of launch.

that's correct and I understand them, is not fair that some people put a lot of time trying to unlock the characters while others like me just obtain them by starting a match. I said this was poorly handled by Treyarch and from the beginning they should made the unlock requirements not tied to a RNG that gives you at the beginning so little chance to find the item you needed. In my opinion they shoulld have used grind to be the main form of unlocking the characters for example to unlock Alex Mason you needed to win 20 blackout games. Is difficult yes but every win will get you closer to the prize at the end.

I'm not saying that I deserve it, Im saying that I'm happy that I get the trophy. Should I be proud for that? I'm not. Should you be mad about this low blow by Treyarch? Of course you should because you and many others were screwed because you dedicated to a lot of time in unlocking the characters. I do not know why people are mad at other players for this when it is clearly that we never asked for this. If any player who got this via the easy way feels proud they just fooling themselves.

Considering how rough it can be getting some of these, isn’t it obvious? If a trophy is too hard, then accept its out of your reach or up your game and keep going. The idea of gifting a trophy that’s actually tough to get is an insult when for the first few months people have grinded their asses off to get it. It’s not just a case of RNG and play time, but it’s also a case of skill - seperate from the rest of the game. MP is one thing, but blackout is a whole different ball game. Getting a victory can be rough enough but getting a victory whilst having and item from a RNG loot crate dropped whilst also having 3 temporary perks on you and activating them before you get the win and before they run out.. well..

Edit: I actually support the change, I highly down treyarch did it for the trophy however, simply put people are earning or paying for costumes for their favourite specialists, it's only right that you aren't forced to then complete some rediculous task to access that content (looking at you prophet)

IX skins don't count, you have to get the Voyage skins. 

 

Apparently buying the Ultimas Richtofen special order counts when you unlock that skin, but that's not really worth doing just for that as the Primus characters are some of the easiest to get anyway.
