Guess I'll be resurrecting a topic people tend to stray from when I'm on a console site xD.

I call my PC the Red Dragon, for the obvious reason that it's sporting a red theme with MSi parts.

Main Components

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k @4.2ghz

Motherboard: MSi Z97 Gaming 5

Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO

GPU: MSi GeForce GTX 970 4GB OC
RAM: HyperX Savage 16GB 2133mhz

SSD: Zotac T400 120GB (Boot Drive) / 2x Samsung 240GB in Raid-0
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue + Seagate Barracuda (2TB)

PSU: Rosewill Photon 650W 80+ Gold Fully Modular

Case: Corsair Carbide 500R

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

Peripherals

Monitor: Asus 23'' VS239H-P IPS / Generic Gateway 23'' (using it as a placeholder for another VS239H-P)

Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Blue (Non-RGB)

Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 300

Headset: HyperX Cloud Core

All in all,

This setup totaled to almost $1600 USD. It a was year's worth of savings and tax returns.

I call my current PC "The Toaster". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I bought it for 50€ on eBay, because it annoyed me that Sony's webbrowser sucks... also I needed Word, LO Writer, something.

Which also makes it the first PC I own that isn't put together by me (or, my father, back then as I was 10 or something).

And, seriously, DON'T do that! Don't buy a PC on eBay! It feels even more worse than having a stock supermarket PC...

It is always giving me shiver when I'm using eg the HP PC from my brother... dunno... Maybe its just because he wasn't trusting me to build him a PC... and then I upgraded his 600€ crap with a 7850 GPU and a stronger PSU, which made it 200€ more expensive... Good job, bro...

...geez... why havn't I bought a Raspi instead... meh... whatever...

CPU: Core2Duo 6600 2.39GHz

RAM: 2,94GB usable from 4GB. Finest DDR2 modules of unknown origin, and I'm too lazy to open it. Uhm, I meant... Nobody ain't got time for that!

GPU: MSI 8800GTS (640MB) ...Hey, it has a score of 6.7 in Windows performance rating! It isn't that bad! :awesome:

MOM: ???

PSU: ???

FAN: It was some Zalman. Pretty loud. (Another reason to not buy someone elses exwife) Thing is, I put the fan control already basicly to "super tolerant" in the BIOS... It really is. The PC is crashing in Starcraft2 sometimes due to heat. So tolerant is the fan control. And it's still making way too much noise. ...And no, the fan isnt broken.

Case: ???

hda01: Ah, yes, it was so damn slow, I put the stoneage SSD from my laptop (RIP Scada... love of my life... next to... other people I like(d) too much...*is taking a "I'm not going to cry..."-break*) in it... Some 120GB Sata2 Intel drive.

fd0: YES. Prepare for war! I have... rockets... bombs... things... stuff... with a detonation power of 1.44MB!! >:c

OS: Windows 7 Prof x64. ...Old but gold ;)

What else should I say... Dunno... It can run Starcraft2 Legacy of the Void in the second lowest setting.

It's good enough for me! PC has nowadays no games anyway...

But next time when I'm going to get a low budget PC I'm going to build something on AMD FM2+ base. Or whatever is up2date then...

Seriously. To use this PC is kinda upsetting me... Don't know how to describe it...

.... My latest computer, specifically bought to be a gaming station:

Raspberry Pi 3 Model B

  • SoC: Broadcom BCM2837
  • CPU: 4× ARM Cortex-A53, 1.2GHz
  • GPU: Broadcom VideoCore IV
  • RAM: 1GB LPDDR2 (900 MHz)
  • SDHC: 16GB
  • Power supply: 5V 2.5A
  • Raspbian OS with RetroPie 4.3

Yeah I know, not much compared to the stuff you lot have, but it's my own little emulation station and it does what I need it to do :) to wit: be good at emulating old systems and not take up much space so I can leave it behind the television.

Intel i3-6100 3.70 GHz

HyperX Fury 8 GB RAM DDR4

MSI GeForce GTX 1050 TI Gaming X 4G

(I'm too lazy to search for the other sub-parts' names lol.)

I built it maybe two or three weeks ago, but after a couple of days of weaboo mode and PCSX2 testing I went back to PS4. I'm hopeless.
