Popular Post Viper
I just never stopped playing my PS3 after getting a PS4...there was too much left to play in my backlog. I STILL have a hefty backlog. But because of this, it still feels natural to play the PS3...I don't have any issues switching back and forth. I like looking at pretty graphics as much as the next guy, but they aren't important at all. They're literally the LEAST important aspect of a game...they have no barring on how a game plays. So playing something that doesn't look all that great on PS3 doesn't bother me. Hell right now, I'm working on Tales of Monkey Island...which is a Telltale games from the days before The Walking Dead put them on the map...the graphics are horrible, but it doesn't stop me from half enjoying it (I say half, because it's not that great, story wise, so far). I did stop buying PS3 games a while ago though, with PS+ only adding a few things over the last couple years (Zone of the Enders HD Collection being a recent one)...so once this backlog is done, I'll be done with the PS3...that'll be a sad day. Pumpkin Head Cthulhu
I do not find it a chore but I guess that is part of my adaptability. it really comes down to the individual, I say dont let it bother you.
URB4NPR34D4T0R
I play mostly on my ps3 and have done for the last year or so and will continue to do so until I've knocked out the online trophies for as many of my games I can
Vytautas20
Not at all, I like PS3 UI much more than PS4. Also no installation is need for retail games, which is a huge bonus.
gazdavis11
I switch between the 2 consoles frequently as they are both hooked up, my current single player game is Rage on the PS3. Whilst the system is a little cumbersome in terms of navigating the store or synching trophies I have no qualms going back to the PS3
GoldenShaka
I have no problems with ps3 interface. But I'm getting used to dualshock 4 better. For the rest no problems switching between both consoles.
ResidentDarrell
Sadly Ive gotten to the point where I dont want to play my PS3 anymore either. I have moved over to my PS4 full time now and my backlog thanks me for it.
Fenrirfeather
Personally, I don’t mind going back to older gaming systems. For the most part. There are games that I still look forward to (re-)playing on PS3, including (but not limited to) Tales of Graces f, NieR RepliCant, Ni no Kuni and Tears to Tiara II! While I do not use the majority of social interactive features that the PS4 offers, I do very much appreciate that it allows me to suspend apps on the fly with a press of the PS button. Love that feature. For easily distractable hyper bunnies™️ such as me, myself and I, this option is perfect ? I’ve gotten used to being able to suspend games on the VITA and was happy to learn that the PS4 allows me to do that as well. In the past, the lack of a true ’suspend & standby mode’ on both the PSP and the PS3 sometimes gave me trouble in long JRPGs with few opportunities to save. The one thing that is keeping me from playing my PS3 right now is that I was in the middle of Resonance of Fate before the account switch. I plan to go back to the game eventually (possibly after the VITA birthday community event) and finish it but I have to go through 9 whole, gigantonormous chapters until I’ll have reached the point where I left off = I’ll have to replay every minute of the >75 hours that I’d previously put into the game on my old account (-᷅_-᷄๑)
TheCrimsonJoker
I didn't have that trouble because I never stopped playing the ps3. But I am focusing more on ps3 because I would like to get done with my backlog with ps5 on the horizon. Ps4 I would mostly get through during the first year of ps5 as consoles tend to take a year before they are fully online in terms of games
electrifryer
I do get the urge for the ps4 but for now I did set a goal to get as many ps3 platinum as my age.Currently at 51 needing 19 more to complete, you can do the math. Not easy to achieve playing hack & slash/shooter games like GOW ascension,Mirrors edge,FC 2 so on.Many games not yet tried sitting on the shelf saying pick me/pick me for your next game.I will have to extend the time into next year for sure. Many of these ps3 games have great graphics & game play the ps4 must be awesome. Maybe the Ps5 will be out by then.
Red-Izanagi
I still play on my ps3 ( Vita sometimes too ), but when im playing ps4 and switching back to ps3, the controlller for the ps3 feels so weird. So i put a ps4 controller on my ps3 and it feels so much better then. Honestly the ps3 is a good console but coming back after playing with the ps4 feels weird at the begining Edited February 11, 2019 by xTrap-ViisiioNz some words was spelled wrong
Honor_Hand
Not really. Got a PS4 recently and even though it has a bevy amount of features compared to the PS3, I honestly don't see anything wrong with going back to it. I'm going to go even farther and say that I like the look and feel of the XMB on the PS3 more. I really don't get too excited about the PS4's social media capabilities so those really don't add much to me. One thing I find the PS3 can sort of a chore is due to how slow it is to do any task compared to the PS4. The latter is much more efficient in copying files, opening menus and just moving back and forth. Other than that, playing games feels roughly the same for me. Both do it in their own way and they do it fine so I'm happy. The fact that I have way more games on PS3 than on PS4 makes me spend most of my time on that one and really doesn't come off as a chore to me. Lumibella
It really is a chore. I've completely moved over to PS4. Can't even bring myself to download MGS4 (always wanted to try it, but I feel like it's not going to happen). At this point I'd love to get rid of mine but no one is interested in a free PS3. I think one day I'm going to follow my sister's advice and just smash it with a hammer or something like that.
WhiteDragonAura
Yup, feel the same way. I tried going back on my PS3 to net a few easy plats but going from PS4 to PS3 feels really backwards and clunky. Maybe I'm just not in the right mind-set. daftprophet
No, it's not a chore. I've been popping back and forth between the two since getting my PS4. Actually, I would say my PS3 has received more attention within the past 6 months.
Floorkiller74
I really wish I could play my PS3...but both my consoles quit synching trophies over a year ago (I got one to synch once last year after giving it a new HD...but after the initial update...nothing)

rusty1027
I've actually started going back to my PS3. I played Eiyuu Senki recently and now I'm playing Drakengard 3. I actually didn't think I'd use my PS3 again for months after Eiyuu Senki but then one day I just felt like buying and playing Drakengard 3.

I'v been wanting to get for years based on the tactical gameplay and waifu warlords but never seemed to get in a promo or sale , always at launch price being a digital-only , it kinda killed my mood to get it and play it after so many years waiting for a sale. StewartBros
I still have a handful of PS3 games to try and plat, and I have no issues with switching back and forth between PS3 and PS4. Yes, the PS3 is slower overall, and syncing trophies takes much longer than on PS4, but performance-wise, there's nothing wrong with it. Currently I'm looking to play the ZOE Collection, Steins Gate and Resistance 3, and would also like to try and finish a couple of others such as Frozen Synapse Prime. I'll probably play those games to finish my PS3 backlog, and play largely MP trophies on PS4 to get those out of the way, so that I can then focus entirely on PS4 single player.

closertim
Depends what game I'm playing. It is a chore but I'm playing Arkham city, slowly getting through the campaign challenges. Much rather be playing ps4 instead.
Mrhemptastic
I still have over 100 games to play on ps3. Ive had a ps4 since black ops 3 and have hardly played it tbh it just sits there gathering dust. I still enjoy my ps3 and will prob be playing it still at ps5 launch lol.
