Just keep playing regular Showdown matches until you unlock it. Usually your best chance at getting MVP is when you play a Free For All mode and win. Like any other trophy, it just takes a bit of time but it's not too difficult overall. It's also a good way to get easy XP and cash without having to do free roam stuff.
