Popular Post voodoo_eyes
KYC 9 (Starts 1st March 2019 and ends 31st of March 2019) Welcome back for another exciting edition of the Kill Your Completion series. This is the 9th iteration, so most of you probably have an idea of what goes on here, but if you are new to the site or this corner of the forums, here's the previous edition of the thread.KYC 8 Those of you that participated in or followed the previous events, know by now that Hemiak won't be running this event for a while due to life being busy. He agreed that I'd take over in the meanwhile, so you're stuck with me for the foreseeable future. Now what does that mean for the event? Well, pretty much everything stays the same. I'll be largely copy-pasting the OP from the previous iterations, while essentially adding a TL;DR version at the bottom. I'm also inclined to cap the maximum number of games at 15 (which was kind of already a thing to begin with). That's pretty much it though. The Premise Participants will each choose a list of 5 up to 10 0% games from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every couple days for the next month. o.O They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires. I would prefer people do 5 games for 6 days each, 10/3, but if you have a valid reason for only being able to do 6 or 8 games, that would be acceptable. I would like if people could be a little more prompt with their reviews. I understand stuff comes up. However, if every single review is three games rolled into one, 4 days late, you're not trying very hard. I also like to see people get the minimum 3 hours per game, so I feel like more than 15 games would be cutting each one too short, I don't really care if you have no life and can do 5 hours every day. The Deets Spoiler Requirements to Join Psnprofiles member for 1 month (or premium member) Backlog of at least 5 un-started games Desire to be part of something fun. A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)How to Join Say you want in Post your list of the games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started. Post your completion percent for S&G.Game Selection Suggestions These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.- Try Something New or Different - A list filled with AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.- Don't choose all games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Sneaky participant is not sneaky. TL;DR Spoiler pick 5 - 10 games that are at 0% and play them during the respective amount of days (examples: 5 games/6days each ; 10 games/3 days each) don't pick only short and easy games, that's not the point of this even. post your list of games each game should be played for at least 3 hours total write a review/impression/thoughts on the game you played, before moving on to the next one (final review is mandatory, regular updates are optional) If you don't want to miss the start of the event, follow the thread. Popular Post Kevvik
I'm in again. I'll post my list in the next few days but I've got a pretty good idea what I'm going to work on.
AJ_Radio
If this were E rank games I would sign up immediately, but right now I would rather not add more 0 percent (F) games than is necessary. It's taken me months to finish off a series of games and this will just send me back to where I was before. Currently I'm undecided. March is right around the corner so who knows, maybe I'll get more done than I think.
Popular Post GraniteSnake
I'm in. I have a huge number of games at 0%, but for this I've decided to go with the five that have been sitting at 0% the longest. Rise of the Tomb Raider (Jan 3) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Jul 27) Horizon Zero Dawn (Jul 27) Shadow of the Colossus (Jul 27) Mafia III (Aug 7) Should be an interesting month. Honestly I don't know why I haven't started any of the above games already but I guess this thread is as good a motivator as any. I'll update this post with my completion rate at the end of the month. Not sure what I'm after getting myself into here... ?
Popular Post DamagingRob
Well... I believe we all know where this is going. I may just make a full recovery after the previous event's damage, but won't know until I finish The Silver Case, pop all the Vita Plats I've been saving, and see whatever else I may earn before the 1st of March. Before starting The Silver Case, I was still .08% away. :/ Definitely the closest I've come to not making a full recovery in between events. All those Ultra Rare trophy games did some damage.. Probably going with a short list this time, because I keep leaving games from these and never return to them. But the last time I tried that, it didn't work out so well, and I ended up playing 10 anyways. ? Anywho, these are what I'm thinking of playing: .hack//G.U. Last Recode Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Persona 5 Bulletstorm Dragon Ball FighterZ You could call this list "figuring out my next two milestones" edition. Very much a huge fan of most of these franchises, and if I enjoy them enough, that could be what happens to at least two of them. Bulletstorm is the one exception. Didn't really have a 5th game that fit that category, and I wanted to play it in the previous event, but didn't. So yeah, decided to throw it on the list.
Popular Post PerryToxteth
In! (Like there was any doubt ) I'm on vacation in the Golden State so I will post my list when I get back. Probably do the 10/3 as I have already caught up from KYC 8, though not yet attained the vaunted 90% plateau. So close, though!!
Metal Slime King
Starting stats: Games Played - 240 Games Completed - 179 Trophies Earned - 6,680 Trophies Unearned - 1,592 Completion % - 80.74% So at the start of the last event I was at 81.03% and at the end I was at 80.01% so I guess I've made some progress in recovering. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Nice to see some sign ups already- OP is already updated with confirmed participants. Personally I'll be going with 7 games/4days again. Mostly focusing on some PS3 games this time around. My list will probably look like this, unless the next PS Plus offerings hold something of interest. Hyperdimension Neptunia MK 2 (PS3) Saw 2 (PS3) X-Blades (PS3) Akiba's Trip (PS4) Tomb Raider Legend (PS3) GTA San Andreas (PS4) Tales of Xillia (PS3)
Popular Post MidnightDragon
I’m in, too. I’ll do 5/6. I’ll post my list soon. It’ll probably work well with my backlog challenge.
Popular Post ImBossy83
Stocked! I've decided to go with the 5 Game Option again and play some of the PS3 games that i have on my download list. My list: Handball 16 Port Royal 3 Tokyo Jungle Hitman Contracts Monkey Island 2 Special Edition I don't know if I'm necessarily going to kill my completion with this list but i think it's a good mix of Genres. Happy to read all those reviews again.
Popular Post Kevvik
Okay, here's the planned list, in no particular order... Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken Cat Quest Omega Quintet The Evil Within Outcast: Second Contact Moon Hunters The Bard's Tale Inner Space Mary Skelter: Nightmares Song of the Deep Bunch of RPGs on the list but I've tried to grab ones that play slightly differently. I actually managed to recover my CR from the last one but still have a whack of unearned left from previous events. I'll post my starting stats and past event status at the end of the month as I still hope to finish a couple from past events before the end of the month. Other than that, hoping to finish at least the plat on Skyrim before this event fires up.
voodoo_eyes
@Kevvik have you played the original Outcast from the 90s? If not, you might be in for a really rough ride. I played it recently and it was a very underwhelming experience: Heads up, you can manually save, it's just not in the menu where it's supposed to be. Instead there's an item in your backpack that called "gamesav". Fairly certain the game doesn't tell you that, and as a result I was waiting for the autosaves to trigger to exit the game. Eventually found it by browsing the inventory for something else.

While it was pretty groundbreaking at the time as one of the first open world games (if not the first, certainly it was the first game like it that I had played), I expect it would seem pretty dated now and certainly not the revolutionary title it was back in 1999 (I think?). I've read stuff that people say this is pretty much a remake marketed as sequel. I expect I won't be as blown away as I was back in the day but I'm hoping it's still some fun. Picked it up for PS4 in a pawnshop cheap like 2 weeks after release so either someone stole it from the store or it didn't impress their CoD mentality. Good to hear about the manual save, I'm sure it will come in handy. Besides, it doesn't feel like a KYC for me without a remake/retro title in my list (2 this time with The Bard's Tale). VR Shaq Fu Red Dead Redemption 2 I'm open to suggestions, advice (or even requests if you are keen to hear a review) on any of the above. I can't comment on any, except for Gwent. If you're going for the plat and don't intend to spend actual money, avoid this like the plague. They recently removed the ability to craft "foil" cards, because they wanted the players to feel "special" when they get one. As a result they are only available in packs, with a low chance to drop. I think you need 100 of them, so yeah. That bs move aside, it's a mediocre and poorly balanced cardgame. While it has an interesting approach to it and is arguably more tactical than other card games out there, the amount of broken cards makes this a somewhat miserable experience. The UI, menu navigation and tutorial are awful, the latter not explaining half of the mechanics in the game. Popular Post Caju_94
Well, to be honest, I should be focusing on getting platinums for already started games and raise my completion rate. But since I really like the concept of this event, I cannot let it slide! Plus, I need to start a couple of new games to not make my gaming life monotonous haha. My list for now is: Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed (Vita) Neon Chrome (Vita) Need for Speed (PS4) Heavy Rain (PS4) Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (PS4)

It's one of those exploration games like Journey or Rime. More open world than either of those and it's interesting how they are able to tell the story without dialogue. Trophies are pretty easy. - I played 11-11 last KYC and recently got the plat. I'd recommend just playing through the game and worry about collectibles with chapter select. The story is pretty good, but not quite great. Can't quite explain why. I'd say don't buy it if it's still above $20 USD. BTW - my list will be posted later today. Popular Post Arctic Cress
I actually looked up Tacoma and found out that it is a one hour platinum and not at all useful for an event that is designed to lower completion, so I'll be switching that one out. Popular Post Gretchen27
Yes, I’ve been waiting for this event. I'd like to join this round Since it’s my first time trying KYC I’ll be going for the 5/6. I have physical copies of my choices so won’t have to waste time downloading for the most part (glaring at those patches though). {PS4} Megadimension Neptunia VII I’ve yet to play a Neptunia game on console so this’ll be somewhat new. Of course, I might just end up remote playing the whole game. {PS4} Horizon Zero Dawn OR The Witcher 3 I’ve got the complete editions for both, but as they are pretty massive games I just want to work on one. Currently leaning toward Witcher as I’m still working on Monster Hunter & HZD would confuse me with a new hunting system. {PS3} The Sims 3: Pets Always been a fan of the Sims & this game has been sitting too long on the shelf. Time to get to it. {PSV} Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate No idea what to expect from this 2.5D platformer other than maybe some recognizable combat mechanics from the Arkham series. Guess I’ll just have to wait & see. {PSV} Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky Another no expectation game. I normally wouldn’t judge on aesthetics, but it looks pretty. Hopefully it’ll be just as fun to play. Okay, that’s my list & I’ll be sticking to it. I probably won’t be the type to post thoughts every single day; my goal though is to have day 1 initial thoughts, final review & stat changes. Copy/Paste Version of List Spoiler {PS4} Megadimension Neptunia VII (March 19-24) {PS4} Horizon Zero Dawn OR The Witcher 3(March 1-6) {PS3} The Sims 3: Pets (March 7-12) {PSV} Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (March 13-18) {PSV} Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky (March 25-30)
