Popular Post nudoetcrudo
THIS POST IS FULL OF SPOILERS! Thanks a lot of all people below who contributed to this guide! There are 4 endings:• Immortal Severance: side with Kuro on the rooftops of Ashina Castle and get Dragon's Tears (neutral ending),• Purification: side with Kuro and get Dragon's Tears + Aromatic Flower (good ending),• Return: side with Kuro and get Frozen Tears (best ending),• Shura: side with Owl (bad ending).Points of no return:• If you side with Kuro on the rooftops of Ashina Castle you won't be able to get the Shura ending.• If you kill the Divine Dragon before getting the Owl bell charm and the Frozen Tears you won't be able to get the Purification and the Return endings. [After you kill it, you won't be able to talk to Kuro anymore, so you won't be able to get Purification / Return if you missed any step involving him (see below).] Note that after you defeat Genichiro on the rooftops Kuro will ask you to choose between helping him and protecting him. This choice does not matter (you won't be able to break the Iron Code at this time). The best way to proceed is to fulfill the requirements for all endings, beat the final boss, backup your save, get an ending and then load to get another ending.• Get just before the Diving Dragon + Get Frozen Tears + Get Aromatic Flower (or at least the Owl bell charm) (can be done in any order),• Kill the Divine Dragon, • Be sure to have collected at least 4 (out of 6) lapis lazuli, • Beat final boss, • Go back to the Sculptor's Idol, • Backup,• Get Immortal Severance ending,• Load backup,• Get Return ending,• Load backup,• Get Purification ending, • Start NG+ and reach Kuro vs Owl decision, • Backup, • Get Shura ending, • Load, continue towards any other ending to get the remaining lapis lazuli. Why do you need 2 playthroughs? Because Shura has different bosses and you need to defeat all bosses in one save to get the "Man without equal" trophy. You also need 2 playthroughs to get 10 lapis lazuli. Why do I need lapis lazuli? To fully upgrade the prosthetic arm you need 10, but you can get only 6 per game and only if you don't choose the Shura ending. [There was a rumor saying that Okami Warriors in Fountainhead Palace would drop lapis lazuli. This information seems to be false and has been removed from the wiki.] Do NPCs affect endings? No. In fact, they cannot even die of Dragonrot. In the worst case, you'll have to cure them do progress their quests, but endings won't be affected. (Also, there are no trophies related to NPCs). Do I need the Combat Arts obtained after defeating the final boss for the "Acquire all skills" trophy? No, you "just" have to unlock all skills using skill points. Below are the steps for getting all endings. Full details here. For Immortal Severance + Purification:• Follow the story and do what Kuro tells you do to (get the Mortal Blade, the flower past the Guardian Ape, and the stone past the Corrupted Monk illusion).• Return to him and defeat Owl (first point of no return, you can no longer get the Shura ending).• Talk to him and go to the Fountainhead Palace (he'll give you an item and you'll have to go back to the cave past the Corrupted Monk illusion).• Proceed but stop when you reach the Divine Dragon (there will be a small cave where you have to pray and you'll be teleported). DO NOT KILL IT YET!Purification requires few additional steps:• Eavesdrop on Emma and Kuro after the Owl fight by going behind the altar in Kuro's room. (Some guides say you have to eavesdrop on Emma and Lord Isshin, but that is possible only before the Owl fight and it's not required anyway).• Rest, go upstairs to the roof and talk to Emma, rest, talk to her again.• Rest, go to the Old Grave idol and speak to Emma (she is past the door on the left).• Rest, go to Dilapidated Temple and eavesdrop on Emma and the Sculptor, talk to her and she'll give you the Owl bell charm. • Use it (pray at the Buddha statue nearby) and you'll reach an the Hirata Estate, where Owl died in the first memory.• This time things will be different. Make your way to the area where you fought Lady Butterfly, kill Owl again and get the Aromatic Flower item. For Return:• Give the Divine Child the note that the monk in the Main Hall of the Senpou Temple gave you (if you missed it, you can still find it at the bottom of the pond at the Temple Grounds).• Ask her rice 3 times, she will get sick, give her one persimmon and she'll give you rice for Kuro.• Give it to him and he'll make sweets for you. Rest and she will leave the Sanctorum to go to the Hall of Illusions.• Talk to her, go to the cave left to the Main Hall, inspect the corpse at its end and give the note you found to her.• Now you need the two snake fruits. You get one by solving the kite puzzle and killing the first Great Serpent, and the second in the cave in the Sunken Valley where the second Great Serpent is by solving the puppet monkey puzzle. • Give the fruits to the Divine Child and she'll give you the Frozen Tears (you'll have to rest, eavesdrop, rest, be sure to have burned the incense in Kuro's room, and then finally talk to her).Note that you can do everything more or less at the same time. You can even get the snake fruits before fighting Owl on the rooftops, you don't have to wait to reach the Fountainhead Palace. Once you have the Aromatic Flower (or at least the Owl bell charm) and the Frozen Tears you can kill the Divine Dragon. Now you have all items for the 3 good endings: Dragon's Tears (for Immortal Severance), Frozen Tears (for Return), and Aromatic Flower (for Purification). Beat the final boss, backup your save and proceed to the ending. Depending on which items you use, you'll get a different ending, meaning that you can load your backup and simply get a different ending without having to beat the final boss again. Finally go on NG+, chose the Shura ending but backup first. After getting the Shura ending you'll also get the "Man without equal" trophy for defeating all bosses. Now you can load the backup and proceed towards Immortal Severance / Return / Purification in order to get the remaining lapis lazuli and fully upgrade the prosthetic arm. As a personal note, you could also go for NG++ right after Shura. The reason is that you'll need A LOT of exp to gain skills points to unlock the "Acquire all skills" trophy, and every time you start a new playthrough enemies will give you more exp (and also will be slightly stronger). Depending on how fast you can speedrun, you may consider to wait for NG++ for farming exp and getting lapis lazuli. Dice_Hazard
You can farm Lapis Lazuli from the female warriors in the Fountainhead Palace Grounds. Okami Warriors I think their name is. If you make 1. Save before facing Owl the first time. Get bad ending. Reload Then do everything for, get Everblossom, get Frozen Tears, get Dragon Tears. Make a Save 2 before final boss. You can do all 3 endings one after another. Just beat Isshin 3 times. Reload save 2 after each ending. You never need to go into New Game + unless you want to. A guy on a Reddit post said it + I saw a video of the Retun ending and if you have both Dragon's Tears and Everblossom you can't give Kuro only Dragon's Tears to get Immortal Severance. Comments below the video confirmed that. 5 minutes ago, Dice_Hazard said: You can farm Lapis Lazuli from the female warriors in the Fountainhead Palace Grounds. Okami Warriors I think their name is. You really need to correct your OP. You can get the Everblossom from Hirata Owl Father, then you go to the Divine Child rice quest for Return until you get Frozen Tears. Then go kill the dragon to get Dragon Tears. Bring all that to the final Idol. Save. Backup your save to the cloud. Kill Isshin. When you kneel next to Kuro, you literally get a Dialogue Box Menu, and you can select any of the 3 endings. Reload, beat Isshin again, select next ending. Repeat. Also, I checked the video and the name of the tears was shortened (Dragon's Tears instead of Divine Dragon's Tears) and I got confused.

I can easily provide a screenshot if you want, although I'm kinda sick of fighting Isshin xD. There's bound to be videos out there of the dialogue box with all 3 endings available. But yeah, you can totally do a 1 Playthrough Perfect Game, provided you don't mind cloud saving to repeat a few battles. EDIT!!: Nevermind. Just found out you need to do NG+ for Man Without Equal. Mori
Like others mentioned already, you can get up to 3 options after the final Boss fight, each for one ending. Furthermore you can cloudsave after beating the final Boss. You can go back to the last Idol and quit the game, save and do all three endings back to back.

Plattitudes
Thank you. This has got to be the best guide out right now, and I've been checking hourly for the past few days. All the other guides I've found either ignore timelines and leave you guessing, or have such terrible grammar it's impossible to decode the message. Cheers mate!

I also had problems understanding what exactly to do and had to check multiple guides and Reddit posts (and I was still wrong on some things and other users here helped me). 1 hour ago, UlvenFenrir said: so its safe to assume you need two playthroughs because of lapis lazu? You need two playthroughs anyway because of the "Man without equal" achievement. It is still not clear if you need to reach the Fountainhead Palace in both (so after Shura on NG+ load backup and continue for any other ending) for the lapislazzuli. Yesterday I tried to get at least one from Okami Warriors (all passive skills for increase drop rate + demon bell + Mibu green consumable to increase drop) but no luck. From what I have read, no one can confirm that they drop it, so maybe the guy who first claimed it got confused with the Shichimen Warrior at the bottom of the waterfall (which give you one lapis). I'll try again after I kill the Divine Dragon (which triggers the final phase of the game).
dizayeure
You can't get the Platinum the way you described it because if you only do the Shura Ending, you lock yourself from the lapis lazuli you need (they DON'T drop from Okami Warriors). So, during your NG+, you need to back up your save before speaking to Owl, then choose the Shura Ending. After the ending, reload your backup save and choose to protect Kuro so you can access the Fountainhead Palace and get the remaining lapis lazuli you need. You'll need 4 if you get the all 6 during NG, but if not you'll need to fight the Demon of Hatred once again Edited March 28, 2019 by dizayeure

Since this is still unconfirmed (at least in the wiki), I wanted to test it myself during the endgame (after killing Divine Dragon). I edited the post accordingly anyway. UlvenFenrir
is the rice from the divine child based on time passed or do you need to do something specific? she just keeps saying the harvest isnt ready yet. nevermind. just keep fast traveling back and forth and it will trigger it, if not just eat the rice first. iGGTheEnd
This all makes my head hurt, Powerpyx says back up a save after killing Monk and Ape, What is the reason for this? Where do I actually want to back up save? Also is this after killing Ape and Monk the first or second time? Which 3 ending do I want to get on the first playthrough and which one do I want to start NG+ with? And then what ending do I want to leave for NG+. Thanks in advance. The reason why you should back up your save after killing the ape and monk (the first time) is so you don’t lock yourself out of 3 endings (Return, Purification and Immortal Severance). If you follow the guide that op posted you should be fine, but you just back up your save just incase you miss out on the eavesdrops required for Purification and the steps required for Return. You should also save Shura for your NG+ playthrough to get all bosses trophy (backup your save again before you talk to owl, obey the iron code, kill the two bosses, get the ending then reload and kill owl so you can proceed to Fountainhead Palace to get the remaining lapis for upgrades)

Just one more question, after I beat the final boss and get my 3rd ending I am able to go finish off the side bosses or will some disappear after killing the final boss?
