@ArcadeJedi I should try TLOU Remastered’s online again then. Maybe it’s apparent that everything is lost, but by actually playing, all progress comes back. ?

For Rogue Legacy, have you tried on other platforms? Have you tried the cross-save upload/download?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (DLC, Campaign and Special Ops save files are intact - Still being able to play Special Ops online - Multiplayer rank and progress are reset)

I think it should be noted (for MW2 at least, I haven't played the other CoD's on PS3), that your multiplayer rank and progress reset every time you reload the game. Based on how it is worded on the list, I assumed that meant it was only reset once after you changed your PSN name, which I was fine with. It resets every time you reload the game after exiting, which I found out the hard way. Is it confirmed if it will fix itself if I change my name back?

Don't see how. Multiplayer will freeze PS3 regardless of how you try to sign in. Zombies has to be done through LAN/Local, and still hast a major chance of freezing. gg 3arc.

All PS Vita games:

  • Another World - Saved data is intact, in-game cross-save feature also works.
  • Jak and Daxter Collection - Saved data is intact for all three games.
  • Shutshimi - Saved data is intact, connection to PSN works and using the in-game cross-save feature also works.

@DevFin22 Thank you for adding this detail, I just added it to the list.

It’s very likely that reverting back to the previous ID will fix the issue. In a similar case, Starblood Arena (2017 VR game) has the same issue, my progress and stats were wiped out and I couldn’t progress beyond the ‘Single Player’ Match 1 and no stats never get registered. I had to revert to my old ID to be able to progress in the game.

Personally I’ll change back to my new ID after I platinum this game. I don’t mind of seeing my MW2’s Multiplayer profile being screwed.

@ArcadeJedi Cannot you just test it out? Thanks.

PS3 ~

Final Fantasy X HD - Old save file from 2014 still works. Cloud-sync worked perfectly as I was able to load my progress from the PS4 version of the game. The PS4 save was also made under the previous name.

PS Vita ~

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves - No issues as the save loads fine and my progress remains intact.

So I assume that it’d also work with FF X-2 and the other Sly games too, as they’re part of collections. I’ll add them too.

DJ Hero 2 - No issues with save file, local progress, or connection to servers; online rank and progress are intact. Removed from leaderboards.

Finally I finished with Starblood Arena, it was unplayable under the ID change so I had to revert to my original ID when I started the game. I tested additional games:

  • Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender DX (PS4, Vita) - All  the Vita local progress is as I left off. I could upload the save to the cloud.
  • Burnout Crash! (PS3) - Servers have been shut down a few years ago (making 100% trophy completion impossible), but the local progress is intact. I keep the same total of stars as before.
  • Dead Space 2 (PS3) - No issues found. In-game trophy progress stays at 100%, save files are unaffected, and I could access to Multiplayer as the online pass works.
  • Dead Space Extraction (PS3) - No issues found. All my challenges scores, profile stars and weapons are kept untouched.
  • Hotline Miami (PS3, PS4, Vita) - No issues found.
  • Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS3, PS4, Vita) - Same as above, I could cross-save.
  • ModNation Racers: Road Trip (Vita) - I got first a “file corrupted” error while loading and the touch screen couldn’t work anymore. I had to hold the power button to shut and restart the system. After a reboot, everything worked normally: career progress and saved creations are untouched, even though servers have been shut down in 2017 (online trophies unobtainable)
  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Vita) - Offline progress are untouched. As already know, servers have been shut down (online trophies unobtainable)
  • Sonic Adventure 2 (PS3) - No issues found. All the emblems, A-ranks and Chao are present.
  • Sound Shapes (PS3, PS4, Vita) - As already knew, servers have been shut down, thus Cross-save is no more. At least, the local data and DLC are unaffected.
  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz (Vita) - No issues found. My current progress and all the levels with “All bananas collected” and “Completed with motion control” badges are present.
  • TowerFall Ascension (Vita) - No issues found. Save file works.

More games tested by me:

  • Assassin’s Creed III Liberation (Vita) - No issues. Story mode progress is untouched. Multiplayer stats carry over the new ID.
  • Gravity Rush (Vita) - No issues. All the save files are here, DLC is also supported.
  • Limbo (Vita) - No issues. All chapters were selectable, plus I kept all collectibles I found.
  • Tearaway (Vita) - No issues. All progress is intact.
  • WipEout 2048 (Vita) - Servers have been shut down a year ago, but 2048 campaign and DLC progress, and personal records are unaffected.
  • WipEout HD (PS3) - Another game with no more servers. Once again, all the HD and Fury campaigns, personal scores and stats are unaffected.

There are a few things I'd like to be sure of:

- Some say one loses trophies if one changes the ID. Are they referring to (already) synced trophies? (trophy total);

- If we change our ID, how does that affect "account linking" to third party accounts? (Ubisoft Club, Rockstar's SocialClub, Square Enix account, WB account, etc...). And in how many of these third parties's accounts can we also change the ID to match them with the new one on PSN?;

- All I have in my purchase history is the Digital Deluxe Theme and "The Art of..." for Horizon Zero Dawn. Would they be lost if I change the ID? The rest I have are just free themes and free avatars;

- I have not played any PS4 games yet. Nevertheless, would any of them become unplayable due to changing the ID?;

- Anything else that I and others should know?

As for PSP premium account retention, I guess I can find guidelines in here somewhere.

1: Unsynced trophies, because synced ones are hardcoded into your profile so cannot be lost.

2: Unknown but I imagine some older sites with that function wouldn't react well to an ID change, thus you will have wait for confirmation from someone who has done it.

3: No

4: See the OP

5: No

6: The PSP almost certainly won't react well to an ID change, since it's a much older platform that was designed before ID changes were a twinkle in Sony's eye and has long since been discontinued.

@ShepardNMDY

Q: Some say one loses trophies if one changes the ID. Are they referring to (already) synced trophies? (trophy total)

A: You’ll never lose trophies synced to the PSN account.

However, you may face this temporary issue I got but there’s nothing to worry about: I once reverted back to my new ID (after I reverted to my original ID

and platinum’d Starblood Arena, because it couldn’t handle it. Servers have closed and it’s now an unplayable game), I had my trophy collection on PSN intact but my trophy count on my profile went to 0, plus I couldn’t update my profile on PSNP. I only had to earn a new trophy and sync it to see everything working back to normal.

QIf we change our ID, how does that affect "account linking" to third party accounts? (Ubisoft Club, Rockstar's SocialClub, Square Enix account, WB account, etc...). And in how many of these third parties's accounts can we also change the ID to match them with the new one on PSN?

A: As far I can tell, all those third parties accounts transitioned smoothly with the ID change. My Rockstar Social Club, Uplay, Origin and Square Enix accounts had no issues at all.

Q: All I have in my purchase history is the Digital Deluxe Theme and "The Art of..." for Horizon Zero Dawn. Would they be lost if I change the ID? The rest I have are just free themes and free avatars.

A: You won’t ever lose any purchase on your PSN account. I have purchased a ton of content over the last 10 years and everything is still here and ready to be downloaded. I haven’t lost access to any game.

A: I have not played any PS4 games yet. Nevertheless, would any of them become unplayable due to changing the ID?

Q: You will never ever have issues on games you never played on your account before, when you change ID. I can assure you that every single game I tested so far (disc and digital), that I played before are playable, all the DLC and save files were untouched. If some games ever have issues, it’s mostly with online functions. Please read my list in this topic and you’ll see which games are affected.

Q: Anything else that I and others should know?

A: Sync your trophies before doing an ID change, just in case. Better be safe than sorry. Get the online trophies on the games (that you played before) having issues with the ID change, before you consider changing it.

PS3 version? How about the Transfarring feature, does it upload/download save files? Do you lose any save file stored to this cloud?

I'm hoping to change my profile name in the coming months, but would need the following games tested and confirmed working to do so if anyone can help:

  • Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) - Career progress
  • Pure Pool (PS4) - Career progress and accolades
  • Table Top Racing: World Tour (PS4) - Career progress
  • The Four Kings Casino and Slots (PS4) - Multiplayer level, in-game progress
  • Worms 2: Armageddon (PS3) - Career & DLC progress, multiplayer progress

I can't afford to lose any progress in these games.. ?

So I can add the Vita ports to the list too!

Vita ports work well still, no issues with progress. I can download my ps3 saves onto the vita but I can't upload the vita saves, I think I was playing offline and they don't let you upload them unless you're okay with the save not contributing to trophies.
