I think there have been cases where the DLC affected tracking of stats in an original game. For better and for worse, can't think of any examples off the top of my head though. There's been instances where you can earn DLC trophies without buying/playing the DLC, because the trophy requirements aren't DLC specific. (Example: Play breach mode in For Honor) You don't have to buy the DLC. But Sony don't allow a plat not to be earned if it requires extra purchases.
