I normally never listen to reviews but I keep hearing the words "repetitive" and "boring".

Is anyone feeling this way about Days Gone?

Any response here will have more credibility in my opinion than sites like IGN.

The only thing i found extremely repetetive is constantly refueling my bike. Have probably refueled it 60+ times in 8 hours. It so freaking annoying and booring. I just got the first tank upgrade and it only gives you like 5 seconds more ride time...

Everything else is real fun so far and i can't wait to experience the story and get a better fuel tank.

could you beat the game without the bike? i know in borderlands unless i absolutely needed a vehicle back in ps3 days, id run on foot everywhere.

I would say yes but it would be extremely slow because you also have stamina which recharges very slowly.  Would take you like 200 hours to beat it without the bike haha.  Also fast traveling costs gas and you need to be near your bike so it might take even longer than that.

I’ve seen mostly average to above average reviews ( most of the bad reviews have knocked off way too many points for bugs). The Completionist also loved it! The only really noticeable issue I’ve had was lag during the start of the bike chase right at the beginning. Maybe some slight lag here and there but I’ve also had that in other games including other exclusives.

You also can only fast travel with the bike, which also costs fuel fyi. So a playthrough without the bike would take a long time since you could never fast travel.  You can also only save at the bike or a bed. So dying in a bad spot might loose you progress. Your bike is a important thing in this game. Some miaaion are chase/escort missions requiring the bike.

Absolutely not. I’m loving every second so far. The graphics are gorgeous, the story seems very promising so far and the gameplay is fun as hell especially when you try and stealth. Most of the “reviewers” probably already had there mind made up about this game beforehand and it would have taken something absurd to change it. But I’m finding it as one of the top tier exclusives for Sony and it seems most players I have talked to that are playing it are loving it as well. This is definitely one of those games I would not listen to the reviews at all.

The various mission-types are spread out in a way that keep them from feeling repetitive. I don't think the game is boring at all, rather I find it to be one of the more engaging open world experiences. Fighting freaker hordes in particular are some of the most intense gaming moments I've had in recent memory. The story is also good from what I've played. I feel the main issues with this game are technical. There are things like occasional drops in frame rate, awkward AI movement and enemies sometimes disappearing or teleporting, among a few others. It's nothing game-breaking, but certainly shows the game needs some polish and can have some effect on the overall enjoyability of the game. It might be best to wait until they iron out some more bugs before picking it up, but this is definitely an exclusive worth playing at some point.

Thanks for the feedback. Friends on PSN are saying good things about it also.

The frame rate is something that has been mentioned a few times too especially when there is a horde onscreen. I'm still rocking an original PS4 so hopefully the old thing can handle it and not sound like it's about takeoff down a runway.

This is what I don't like about the PS4 Pro. It's a good system, worthy of anybody's gaming collection and it utilizes most features pretty well. I know this because I have a couple friends who play on the Pro regularly, but they don't trophy hunt.

There is this sound of entitlement and if somebody has a PS4 Slim then well, obviously somebody doesn't want the 4K graphics. I was pissed when I saw that the Pro was released just a year after I got my PS4 which came bundled with Batman: Arkham Knight.

Even if I find a place to transfer my PS4 to try to buy PS4 Pro that still isn't enough and I have to probably spend a couple hundred bucks out of my pocket to pay for it. Plus 4K televisions still aren't at the price point I want, some are still several hundred dollars which is not something I can afford.

Hopefully for those with the Slim, the engine is more quiet amongst a newer and improved Wi-Fi chip. I may get a Pro as we near the PS5 launch date, because I got far too much to just jump ship and worry about the PS5 game selection. Hopefully by then the Pro will be cut in price and I can snag it for cheap, but I might not if the PS5 will run PS4 games in 4K resolution and 30/60 FPS.

This is the same reason I'm hanging in there with my original. If it dies then fair enough I'll grab a Pro but with PS5 hinted to be out around mid 2020 I feel it's not worth upgrading. I keep telling myself not to rush out and buy the first of the PS5's because we all know what happens 12 months down the track but I cave and buy one anyway. ?

If you waited until 2016 then the Slim or Pro would of been worth picking up.

Instead I have to make the decision to either upgrade or wait until the PS5. I just hope it's been set in stone that the system is backwards compatible.

why cant you just upgrade now and then buy a ps5 at launch? its not out any earlier than april 2020 they stated. so based off that i cant really see a console release in summer.  but lets say ok, july 2020, or oct/nov 2020. you can save up 600-800 by then.

Is there any real reason to besides getting the best out of today's AAA games?

I'm not going to waste money on something if it turns out to be less than I expected. The price will drop, but ideally the best time to buy is now.

Should of waited until late 2016.

The wired article that was done with Mark Cerny a few weeks back confirmed backwards compatibilit, at least with PS4. So short of some kind of disaster at sony you can consider it 99 percent confirmed.

I had a *review red flag* moment when listening to gameinformer's review discussion the guy who reviewed the game kept mispronouncing Deacon's name (St. Joan is what he said) and had to be corrected by the other hosts. So this guy supposedly just finished a 40+ hour game and can't remember the main protagonists name? I smell bullshit. They gave it a 7.75 btw which is pretty good. Just makes me wonder ya know? Im getting the game from gamefly this week either way, if it's good I will keep it from them for $44 bucks. Gamefly has saved me a bunch from bad games.

I haven't played much, but I can already tell the game isn't bad and might be really good- but personally I'm sitting here and just thinking ugh, I don't want to play through another open world game, let alone one with zombies and certainly not for 60 hours. I might try and push through, but I just don't know.

UK Charts: Days Gone defeats Mortal Kombat 11 to claim No.1

PS4 exclusive scores decent debut in UK Top 40

Sony's Days Gone comfortably beat Mortal Kombat 11 in the UK boxed games charts.

Its launch week physical sales are 27% lower than last year's PS4 exclusive action adventure God of War.

It is actually a decent performance when you consider this is a new IP - and the review scores for this new game have not been as impressive as last year's multi-award winning effort.

This game really need to fix some stuff but it is sure fun. My biggest problem with it besides bike maintenace is that i have missed atleast 20 conversations because i came to the objective to fast. So im basicly getting half the story of every single fucking conversation.....

The guy doing the vid above was on the ball. Throughout the entire PS4 life so far, there is only 1 AAA game that messed up so bad it deserved to go 5 or below and that was Fallout 76.

My mate is a huge fan of Days Gone and once all content is released I will definitely be buying it myself. Gamespot and other so called major game review companies seemed to have a deep agenda against this game, or perhaps SONY?
