Lady Lilith
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/28/sony-confirms-playstation-4-does-not-have-a-power-brick Shuhei Yoshida, Sony President of Worldwide Studios, has confirmed via Twitter that the PlayStation 4 will not use a power brick. Instead, the power supply will be housed internally, not unlike the Xbox One. Additional details regarding the PlayStation 4's power supply and how the company managed to fit it within the console's relatively small casing are still unknown, but at least we have a better idea of what Sony has in store for us later this year.

silver_pigy
Wait so the Xbox 1 is half the size of my TV AND needs a power brick! You would think with how big that thing is they would stick it inside.
lporiginalg
"not unlike" means the same, in other words xbox one also doesn't have a power brick, according to this article.
Dragon-Archon
So, is there any info on a 'beep' sound when the PS4 powers up? I really hate that every time I activate my PS3. Still hoping for a patch to mute it.

Tomato
whats with microsoft and Nintendo's huge power bricks? why they don't go like sony with this matter? The power brick although very inconvenient actually helps the system keep cool, as you can probably can tell that power brick is not just big but also gets pretty warm after a while. I guess Sony is confident with their cooling for the system. WTF he means he's not allowed to show Us the ports in da back.?? Azaan60
I hope this doesn't mean it's going to be more likely to overheat. The back of it is filled with ventilation holes, so I doubt it will overheat easily

Parker
I can't say the other consoles power bricks ever really bothered me but it is nice to see that the PS4 looks to use the same power cord the PS3 does. Parker
Yengoshi
Good. I don't like power bricks as they are always a pain to place somewhere out of view. Glad to see that the PS4 woun't have one.

x_First2Fight_x
I hope this doesn't mean it's going to be more likely to overheat. This is my thought exactly. While people may complain about power bricks, having an external power source means less internal heat. Here's to hoping the found a good way to cool the boards. AUX port is a dedicated socket for the camera. You won't be able to connect it to anything else apparently. So I would start pricing new monitors if I were you...
