Sinden PC lightgun for LCD monitors & TVs, no IR sensor needed.

Someone is working on a new lightgun called Sinden, which will work on LCD TVs/monitors. When you're using it, Sinden's software will put a border around the game screen to help the gun track your aim. It won't need infra-red sensors like Namco's GunCon 3 or Nintendo's Wii remote. It's supposed to be so accurate that no crosshairs are needed.

Well this is nice. Hopefully Namco can license the technology for consoles or bring out something similar & make a GunCon 4, so we could get the Time Crisis series including TC5 which is overdue for a port. I'm sure this would be 10 times better than using a Move controller as a gun.

Here, we see the Sinden's creator try out a few Guncon games on PlayStation consoles hooked up to a LCD TV using this gun & a little bit of extra hardware (Raspberry Pi & Arduino). Sweet.
