you're lucky you're getting games for the price you are today.  Do you have any idea how much a game was back in 1990?  The same as it is today, 59.00!  How do you think the gaming industry has been able to keep that price?  By getting some people to pay more by offering more content or micro transactions.  You ever watch the credits role after a game and see how many people that are involved in making a AAA game?  Credits can roll 30 minutes for some of these games. Video games are about one of the only things that haven't went up in price but don't worry I'll keep buying the additional content for the games i like so you can keep on paying 59.99.  A simple thanks would suffice.   I'd pay a extra 30.00 to get  season pass for a AAA title any day of the week over buying a quad stack of the same game that lasts  half an hour.  Good excuse though buying shit games to get back at the gaming industry for shoving DLC price tags down your throat.  As good as an excuse as any.  There really aren't a lot of things that can keep a person occupied 50 to 150 hours for 59.99 I consider it cheap entertainment.

Top streamers and reviewers get free games like MK11 and promote it so its equally biased propaganda, but common amongst indie devs to promote it's games.

I just think people are being way too hard on this developer considering they aren't AAA and are simply porting over games that are fun niche titles.

A game is a game imo and I like to give them a chance regardless if they are absolutely trash or best of the world.

 

You discover hidden gems that way, but that's just how I personally approach games.

 

Not buying rata games for just being rata is plain dumb.

 

You won't know if you like the game if you don't give it a chance and play it.

 

 

I have played their games so you can stop assuming that I have something against them while not playing them. The games are mediocre mobile tier trash that takes 0 effort to port over to the ps4 and should not be dumped onto the store as rapidly as it is. 

On the topic of reviewers and streamers getting games for free to promote it, that is true, but even though review sites get games early/free they still give them bad reviews if they're bad games. No amount of paid reviewers saved Anthem or Fallout 76 review scores.

By reducing self-cost of physicals to practically $0, introducing digital distribution, rehashing assets, reselling "remakes", porting, slave-driving devs in the absence of worker unions and using pre-made engines.

Customer base became humongous too, billions of people are playing videogames and a good portion of that spends money on products that can be duplicated infinitely, at no additional cost.

Some game companies spend over $100,000,000 to advertise a single game and you keep acting like they're starving.

 

A lot of JP porn games, made by individuals and distributed for free, have more effort put into them. There's also abandonware, Humble Bundles, amazing oldies for a few bucks each on PS Store and GOG.

yes, for the price point $4 at release or often at sale after that, I have no qualms about the value of the game that Ratalaika releases.  I've only played Full Blast but it was $4 of enjoyment. 

 

The issue as far as trophy hunters is the stacking (regions and ps4/vita) which is true with any game.  Having these count as 1 is fine, but getting 8 platinums from it is ridiculous but that is more a shortcoming of the trophy hunter than anything. 

 

And there are already rarity leaderboards for those valuing rare trophies and platinums.  I prefer those anyway.

Yep, I'm betting we'll have to implement some sort of "Effort Ranking", and maybe the rarity or an effort leaderboard, or something along those lines to combat Sony's carelessness with trophy list rules & organization, much like how we flag down cheaters in the leaderboards to combat Sony's carelessness with trophy cheaters.  I'd imagine we'd add something like that down the line once it keeps getting worse than it already is lol

 

We can get a effort leaderboard to name and shame people who decide to play certain games, but we can't get PSN name changes supported like 3 weeks later, or the rarity board updated so cheaters aren't on there, or any of the suggestions posted on the site even acknowledged?

Ratalika makes the lists though. The games are fine, but the way Ratalaika makes the trophy lists is bad.

 

For one you know he doesn't play through the entire games he just does the bare minimum to make sure all trophies will pop.

 

It's kinda sad because all people see these games as are trophy games and the developers that worked on these games don't even have their games played or appreciated, just people that play them for 5 minutes then never touch them again. I really wish they required you to beat the game, but that would be too much effort on the publishers side.

A game being indie doesn't preclude it from criticism. Just because a lot of work went into something (which is debatable) doesn't mean it deserves praise or that it's worth $5.

 

Regardless, the quality of the games Ratalaika publishes shouldn't be the focus here. Making multiple easy trophy stacks for every single game and then getting people to spam endless promotion all over this site is a scummy practice, and that's what people here need to be pushing back against.
