If PS5 allowed you to delete trophies, would you do so?

I wish there was an elegant way to hide trophies that didn't lump you in with the cheaters.

 

If PS5 offered the option to delete trophies I would probably cull about a quarter of all my earned trophies. Mostly I would just delete games I didn't really care for and that includes at least 3 platinums (Coffin Dodgers, Dying Reborn, The Little Acre). I would also delete my Sound Shapes stack because I don't like that I didn't really earn it a second time.

 

As long as I liked the game I would keep it, even those that I have an E ranking in but there has been a ton of games that I've tried, earned a few trophies in and decided I didn't like . There has also been games that others have started playing on my Playstation (Brave, Fallout New Vegas). Those would all go.

 

What do you guys think? Would you delete trophies if PS5 had that option? What would be your rules for deciding what is removed?

I've actually given some thoughts to this: what if one day we could delete trophies, but thing is, i actually dont know, I would want to delete games with unobtainable plats but then doing so would mess up my trophy log and my milestones...

I'd only delete games if the plat is impossible to obtain. I'd love to remove Gran Turismo 5.

Personally I would like to delete the games I didn't like. However, I also would like to delete some I've finished so I could get the platinum again. Although losing the milestones I've accomplished would suck.

It'd be a dream to get rid of those 6-7 games I'll never be able to 100% but then again, it's also just that: a dream. Knowing Sony and their reticence to enact change without half-assing it with needless caveats, such a feature would probably only allow you to delete trophies/lists earned on the PS5, at best. I wouldn't even necessarily be asking for outright deletion; a "hide from yourself" function like with the software library would do as an option.

id delete the frickle pickles outta some of my game lists for sure, namely anything with expensive DLC or boring lists

No, I think of my profile of a journey of were I started and were I currently am. It isn't finished yet. Sometimes I like to revisit the places I have visited and some of the places I don't want to revisit.

 

All in all I am satisfied with what I have done so far.

I would delete my cousin's games for sure. They're hidden, but I'd still like to get rid of them completely.

 

Only one of mine I'd get rid of is CoD Advanced Warfare for the PS3. I needed to confirm something for the guide here and even though I could just plat it again I don't really have plans to unless I'm really bored or need a filler plat lol.

It's a good point but if you have played a game that you wouldnt have otherwise played, say because it has an unobtainable platinum, then that is already artificially changing what your real milestones would have been.

 

I dont like the thought of changing my milestones either but at least that's how I could justify it.

I'd delete Homefront as it's unobtainable and maybe Payday 2, as I haven't enjoyed the game much. That said, I'd prefer to attempt the Payday 2 platinum first and if it proves to be awful, then I'd delete it.

I'd happily delete games where the trophies are impossible for various reasons (server closure, unreleased DLC or delisted DLC). It's a feature that should have existed already. I've heard arguments against it because everyone would have 100% profiles, but I doubt that would happen.

My own trophies? Nah, but I would delete other people's trophies they spent so long getting if I got the chance. All of them. Maybe we could organise trophy hit squads that break into the homes of individuals high on the leaderboards with the sole purpose of deleting their trophies. 

 

The option to delete trophies is a bad idea.

Nope. They are a record of my gaming past, good and bad games alike. If I had ever let anybody get a trophy for me I'd remove it of course, but my account is password protected and I've not allowed anybody else on it unless they would not be able to make progress towards any trophies 

There are lots of games I didn't enjoy and dropped after popping one trophy, but nothing wrong with that.

I have some that I have hidden on my account now... nieces and nephews... that don't reflect MY gameplay... I would delete those but leave everything else. Trophies I haven't been able to get are all part of the journey

What an incredibly lame notion. I really hope they don't add this feature. And no, I wouldn't. When you start a game you make a commitment to finish the game, or fail trying. Rarity already has questionable relevance to determine difficulty, and with this change it would make it entirely unnecessary to track. I realize that there are valid reasons for wanting to remove a list, but it would just be abused. Don't do it Sony.

Normally I would say No, but there is a single exception that I know of on my profile that I would love to get rid of... Dragon Fin Soup, All because the game was released broken, given away free as a PS+ Game, Will never get fixed. 0% Completion Rate - It needs to go.

I'd just delete AdVenture Capitalist cause I can't work out why I even installed it. It's just a shitty freemium clicker. I guess I thought I could get the trophies easily by changing the dates, but it took too long and I gave up.

In a heartbeat. I'd like for my trophy list to only contain the games I liked enough to keep in my collection. Nothing more, nothing less. My list has a lot of trophies earned by my brother anyway and I already hid all of the ones I'd delete anyway, so it wouldn't even mess with my milestones.

A lot of people with high completion percentages use alternate accounts to try new games on. What I'm suggesting isn't any different.

I'd definitely delete some of the games I have on my account, mostly due to me just not having the desire to finish them completely. I imagine deleting trophies will adjust your milestones and your level accordingly, lest we just have a train wreck of a trophy log.

Good thing I haven't defended that then, or I'd be in trouble.  They are different though. You're being cautions about what you add to your list, instead of regretting choices you've made down the line. Not saying I approve or would do that either.
