Expert Mode Trophy Glitch

I've played through the game twice on Expert Mode and both times the trophy for completing expert mode failed to pop. Checking playstationtrophies.org reveals this appears to be a fairly common glitch without a solid solution.

 

That said, to all those that encountered this glitch, how did you get past it if you did?

So as it turns out, the advice I found which suggested playing through the game in one sitting did the trick. More specifically I played through the whole game without pausing or going to the PS4 menu at all so perhaps that's why it worked. That said, hope this is helpful to anyone else that finds this post and has the glitch working against them.
