IF was first introduced in Hyperdimension Neptunia (the first game) and was your third party member. She is a main character in the main line Neptunia series and I believe she makes at least a minor appearance in the spin-offs. It's very easy to miss her if you're not familiar with her character in games like Megatagmension Blanc + Neptunia VS Zombies due to her bland appearance and lack of story involvement. It can be argued that the IF in this game is a new character because she is a different IF then the ones in other games. She wheres different clothes from all the other IFs and has a different backstory. She shares the same personality and combats almost identically. There is also a bunch of Neptunia Universe lore that I don't feel like getting into. My apologies. My Neptunia exposure consists of spin-offs, this game and Megatagmension Blanc (where I don't even remember seeing IF but I'll take your word that she's there), and intermittent videos that I've seen and discussions I've read. I'm not well versed in the lore of Neptunia. Thanks again for the very comprehensive look into this game. I'm enjoying it so far though it's nothing spectacular. Only have a few more characters to finish fully recruiting.

Became much less interested in this Sonic game when I read a patch has made it more difficult. Possibly a lot more difficult. And I don't even know how interested I was to begin with. Never owned a Sega console, and only remember liking one Sonic game. That was Adventure DX, which is nothing like the old ones which this is modeled after.. Think it's better to play another game I paid money for than waste my time with it. So, if you could replace it with Lollipop Chainsaw, that would be great. See which one of these "school girl fighting zombies" games is the better one. Have a feeling I already know the answer, but I could be surprised. Done. Can't go wrong with Suda51.
Popular Post Kevvik
Game #5: Papers, Please Initial Impressions Time played: 7-8 hrs Papers, Please is a simulation game putting you in the place of a pseudo-Eastern bloc border guard. You receive the job through the lottery and are put to work checking passports and accompanying documentation where you either approve or deny access to your country. While it starts out simple, it gets more complex as events lead to more and more documentation. You must weed out those with incorrect docs (for example, expired passports, incorrectly completed work visas) and only allow those in who have everything in order. You our can make up to 2 mistakes (or deliberate eye-turning) each day before you start getting fined. Your family in your rented apartment must also be looked after and at the end of each day, you receive your salary, tally the occasional bribe to pay for rent, heat and food. If you work well enough, your savings will increase. Do poorly and you may start running out of money. You can choose to skip food and heat but your family members may get sick and medicine drains your funds as well. I played completely through a 31 day story and the game saves after each day, allowing you to return to any day to work on side trophies or work towards different endings. In addition to just doing paperwork, there is a rebel/terrorist group also working and seeking your cooperation. Terrorist acts against your border post can be dealt with by taking a shotgun or sniper rifle out of a locked cupboard to defend your post if necessary. Your booth also gets upgrades of fingerprinting, search scanning and a drawer for confiscating passports late in the game. The graphics are old 2D when looking at your overall post but get a bit better when dealing close-up with people trying to cross the border. It has sort of a Commodore-64 kind of feel to it. The controls work fine on the Vita as you become a paper pusher of sorts. The gameplay keeps it moving well and you don't have to rush but likewise you can't waste too much time either if you want to keep your salary moving up. I enjoyed my playthrough and only have a few trophies left to obtain, the main one being for cooperating with the resistance movement. I'm going to take my time with that one so I'll mix it in with other catch up from earlier in the event. While I enjoy the game, it's not a real binge style game as I found that my attention to detail on the docs dropped after playing too long so I've mixed in some gaming on Sega Hard Girls and The Bridge. We'll see if I get any more trophies on this today or tomorrow. Trophies earned: 11/13, 78% for A rank Score so far: 6/10
Popular Post AsaraBaenre
Bonus Game: Burly Men At Sea Game Stats: 31, 925 Game Owners; 21,406 (67.05%) Platinum Achievers; 71% Average Completion 25 Trophies (1 6 14 4 ) Playstation Store Description: One of TIME’s top ten games of the year, Burly Men at Sea is a folktale about a trio of large, bearded fishermen who step away from the ordinary to seek adventure. Set in the waters of early 20th-century Scandinavia, the game's story branches through a series of encounters with creatures from folklore. You play as storyteller and wayfinder, shaping the narrative around three ungainly heroes. Play through once for a single tale, then set sail again to uncover paths to new adventures. Playtime: 2 hr 45 minutes I got very frustrated with Tooth and Tail today and decided screw it, let's platinum one of the short games I have in my backlog. This was a 0% game that I had gotten from PS+ back in November and so I decided to give it a try. Personally, as a game developer I thought it was a very interesting game. The art style and sound effects are very simple and fit the idea of the game very well. The game runs through a playthrough of the story in about 5-10 minutes each, with three branching choices that determine where the story goes from there. There are 12 possible endings, and the game remembers what you have done before (the characters will remark upon things they have already done or greet other characters as though they had seen them before upon replaying). A very quick platinum that I achieved in about three hours that really cleared my mind from the frustration I had been having with Tooth and Tail (one level in particular, though I will NOT let it beat me haha!) Very cute, very simple little game that I can definitely see as not being everyone's cup of tea, but if you go for it for the easy platinum, you do owe it to yourself to actually take the two or three hours and enjoy the experience. I give this 6/10 just because it does seem very niche, though I personally enjoyed it very much. Now back to Tooth and Tail!
RuneEyesDragon
Sorry guys, I failed the challenge. I missed my second day of Game #5 because I woke up at 4 PM and spent all day playing Dragon Quest Builders, so I didn't have time to play my game. I'll try to play the game after I get off from gym and grocery shopping tomorrow but I only participated in Game #5 two out of the three days I was supposed to. Popular Post Caju_94
I know I am still at Game #2, next week I will have Game #3 and #4. From the 20th to the 28th I will be traveling but bring my Vita with me so I can test game #5. Game #2 Batman Telltale: The Enemy Within (PS4) Completed 1 Episode out of 5 I really enjoy Telltale games as well as the first season of Batman Telltale. And you get a second season with more improvements than the previous one, than I knew this was something promising. I guess the fact that this is the second season, makes you somehow "skip" all that is introductory to the theme and to what is going on, and puts you into almost immediate action. The story starts off pretty well, and after finishing the first episode, I can say the story gets even darker, tense and the decisions seem to have more weight this time. This time, you have more people that can either love you or hate you, and you can't please all of them either (love Telltale for that). Story aside, I must admit that the action and the fighting on this one got a nice improvement. Instead of "pre-choosing" how Batman would approach his attacks, you can now choose during a fight how you want to approach. Want to be a brute that uses his bare punch and kicks, or do you want a more strategie and clever approach, using your hook? Do you want to remove the gun of the bad guy or pull the person you need to save? The fighting coreography got more interesting and entertaining IMO and the next episodes look really promising. I am really looking forward for some enemies that will show up and reveal themselves. Edited July 15, 2019 by Caju_94
Popular Post DamagingRob
Day 1 2- Lollipop Chainsaw You play as Juliet, a just-turned-18 cheerleader, who is worried about what her boyfriend will think about her "strange" family. Who really don't seem all that strange in the opening cutscene, where she describes them all. But then a zombie outbreak occurs and she pulls out a chainsaw, and starts going on a zombie killing spree. So, there is probably more to this seemingly normal family than meets the eye. So, after fighting through the undead and saving a few people, we find Nick. Who fights off a zombie who had been sneaking up on Juliet from behind. He gets bit in the process, sadness ensues over him turning into a zombie, confessions of love, and then the game ends. Or not? Juliet is not okay with this, and proceeds to... chainsaw his frickin' head off!? This seems like it wouldn't save someone, and not sure why you wouldn't just cut the infected arm off instead. But, umm, okay? And I have to start the next chapter to see what happens next, so that's all folks! For now. I really have no idea what I'm doing with the gameplay. Playing on Hard, so that's not exactly good. But if you die, it's easy enough to hit Continue. It's basically a hack and slash game, and you fight with your pompoms and a chainsaw. The pompoms are supposed to stun zombies, but I haven't had much luck with that. What does stun them is the dropkick attack, which had me scrambling to see if I could alter the controls at first.. The guide made me think I had to press and at the same time. This is tricky to do. But simply pressing then is all that's required. And this will stun them everytime... when it connects. Found out in the boss battle at the end of the chapter how to lock on to enemies, which will probably help with that. It can also send them flying too far, though, and they may get out of their stunned state before you can get there. But while they're stunned, one hit with the chainsaw instantly kills them. Much better than wailing on them and taking a load of damage in the process. I don't really understand the sparkle thing. Might be if you kill a number of zombies at the same time, it activates. And I guess it gives you more points? You're graded at the end of the level, based on how you performed in multiple categories. Lots of D's and a B got me a C overall. There's also a special meter that fills, and when that is activated you can kill tons of zombies in a hurry. There's also students to save in each level, and they can die if you don't protect them. And then turn into powerful zombies. Don't want that if you want the Good ending, so I had to retry with one guy. Each level has some collectibles to find, as well. Your health can be healed with lollipops in your inventory, of which you can carry up to 3. Some can be found scattered around, or you can buy some from a shop in certain parts of the levels. There are also upgrades in the shop, and it plays that old lollipop song while you're in it. Great soundtrack in this one. Bought a new combo and a 10% health increase. Early on, this seems a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. Most people on pst seem to think it's a joke for difficulty, but it doesn't seem that way to me. The boss battles were fairly difficult, and protecting some of these people I need to save could be annoying. But I'm still enjoying it, so far. Though I only played the first level. Time played: Little over an hour. Trophy progress: 5/51 for 7% and a E rank.
Popular Post Together_Comic
Game 4: Superbeat Xonic Starting Statistics Platinums 28 Completion Percentage 78.69 Games Played 45 Games Completed 33 Unearned Trophies 396 Let me start by saying that this game is a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I picked it up basically as an alternative to beat saber since I couldn't really justify picking up a VR headset for just that one game. This is a rhythm game for the Vida (though its on PS4, I would highly recommend the Vida version if you pick it up) that takes full advantage of the touch screen and hardware. The game is fun to play and is one of those perfect on the go games where you could be casually grinding out the platinum over a long period of time. The game has two types of tracks: 4-Track and 6-Track. As the name suggests, they each correspond to the number of tracks that a note will appear on. Sort of like guitar hero, where easy only gets you the first 3 buttons, medium adds the 4th, and hard+ adds the fifth. Additionally, these tracks are available in two modes. Stage Mode, where the goal is to clear each song successively getting harder with each stage and World tour where songs are combined into sets and your goal is to complete a goal. For example, one world tour requires you to get 85% of all superbeats (basically the equivalent of hitting the not on the beat perfectly), another requires a combo streak of at least 100, another requires fewer than 5 breaks (note misses), you get the idea. The world tour mode gets really hard really quick and in general this game is very hard but is very enjoyable. Games like this tend to live and die on their track list and while this game boasts no major titles in the vein that guitar hero et al did, but it has a lot of pop-punk japanese style tracks most of which are uptempo and entirely enjoyable if you like that style of music. There are also quite a few tracks to clear, but if you're going for the platinum you'll likely get them many times over on your quest to play 1000 tracks. The game also generally looks good. The style of the game is sleek and not difficult to see which I really like in games where you have to be both fast and accurate. There also weren't any technical bugs that I ran into. Though the loading screens can be a bit slow, the game runs fine and doesn't stutter. Again important in games where you need to be both fast and accurate. Some notes on the features. The game allows you to adjust the speed of the notes along a tempo scale, even real time, which is kind of neat. You'd think this would make the game easier and to a certain extent it does, but some songs I found to be easier at a higher tempo which is really good design. Another thing the game allows you to do is to pick a DJ. The DJ's have special abilities that can be used to make the missions in world tour easier. For example, several of them have break shields which allow you to miss a certain number of notes before it breaks your combo combine that with the combo streak of 100 and it gets easier. Fewer than 5 breaks works in a similar vein. I don't like the PS4 version specifically because of a note called the scratch note. On the Vida version, you use the touch screen to slide the note in the direction it directs you, but doing this on buttons is really difficult and I almost always found myself missing the next beat if the song had any speed to it. All in all, this is a great game if you enjoy rhythm games and have the vida and the time. If you can find it in the $6.99 ball park, I think its worth picking up. Popular Post PerryToxteth
KYCX Game No. 3 Playing Time: 2-3 hours Trophies Earned: 20/37 (33% D ranking) Final Thoughts: Summer busyness has kept me away for a few days and sadly, kept me away from this game as well. Simply put, what a unique idea for a game and it's very entertaining. The gameplay will sound strange but it somehow works. The camera is in the first-person and you are an observer to a story. You're pretty much a ghost, or fly on the wall. Take our pick. The setting takes place in a lonely mansion and you encounter guests, some of whom are historical characters, who have all been specifically invited to this house by the famous owner. Just minutes into the game, a crime takes place and the story becomes a "Whodunnit." As the ghost, you are able to freeze, forward or rewind time. With that ability, you piece together the story by listening to various conversations amongst the guests, as well as follow characters and see what nefarious activities they are up to. This is similar to the time suspension in Sexy Brutale and that's not a coincidence; both games are Tequilla Works titles. In fact, there are Easter egg trophies tied to a couple of Tequilla Works games. This originally came out for VR, but an update now lets any PS4 run the game. I was a bit worried as my previous encounters with VR have ended up with a quick case of nausea, but this one caused no issues. I was able to get to the end of the game, but with the time dimensions to the game, I didn't really discover "an ending." That's not a disappointment at all, I just didn't have enough time to find it. You can replay any of the four chapters in the game and that's how you can piece together the whole puzzle. Follow Character A around for a chapter, than Character B, etc. etc. I'm guessing I witnessed about 50% of the story and I am very eagervto get back to this one to complete it. I really hope Tequilla Works continues to put out games like this because it's really entertaining and a unique concept from the other game genres. Popular Post RuneEyesDragon
Game #5: Kingdom Hearts re:Chain of Memories (1.5+2.5 Remix) New Completion: 84.67% (-1.51%) # of Trophies That Were Remembered: 2 # of Unearned Trophies That Were Forgotten: 45 My Game Experience: I didn't do much due to the fact that the second trophy I got here, Expert Card Builder, is a horrible boring grind which has you tapping a button constantly and making sure you don't exit the menu by accident. Editing a deck 500 times is torture. But this game is going to be worked on harder when I switch my focus back to it. I am playing on Proud Mode because you can get all of the trophies there, and Proud Mode isn't too difficult, but getting Tightrope Walker is very tricky as you can be knocked out by even the weakling Shadows. The Struggle: Not really a struggle. I haven't much play in this period for a very sad reason: I woke up yesterday at 4 PM, and I got distracted by Dragon Quest Builders (which I need to platinum so I can play the unwrapped copy of Dragon Quest Builders 2 I just bought) and by the time I realized I needed to get into this game, it was already 11:47 PM. So I missed the second day and only played on the first and third day(right after I washed up after coming back from my weekly gym workout) and I only got one trophy on each day. Definitely killed a lot of completion there. My Game Rating: 3.5/5 My Trophy List Rating: 4/5 Hardest Trophy Left to Obtain: Veggie Master (I really suck at that mini-game) Easiest Trophy Left to Obtain: Ace Striker (for some reason it didn't trigger during the tutorial even though I hit the Shadow with a crate, must be rigged) Tomorrow I will dedicate all three days to Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, mostly with grinding. Popular Post AsaraBaenre
Game 5: Tooth and Tail (July 13th - July 15th) Time Played: 6 hr 30 min (plus probably a couple more tonight before moving on to the next game) Trophies Earned: 15/38 (25%) Current Completion: 24.24% (+1.40%) Despite my small ragequit moment that I had about 5 hours in (whoops! ^^;) I really, REALLY enjoy this game. I was skeptical about the controls for an RTS working on the PS4 but yes, they were actually pretty decent. There isn't anything to allow for true micro but you can control each unit type separately from each other or all of your units at once. The game has a learning curve that started challenging me about halfway through (though I will be the first to admit that I'm not GOOD at games). I haven't touched Mutliplayer yet because I want to play the whole story and learn how all of the different units work before playing. The story is pretty dark but there's also a lot in there that made me grin with little references or the way characters talked. The music in my game (as well as the language spoken by the characters) made multiple of my family members peek their head into my room to figure out what the heck I was doing, but my brother after watching for a couple of matches went and bought the game for himself so I have someone to play multiplayer with now! I will be coming back to this to platinum eventually as I have a bit more of the story to go and then I'll dive into Multiplayer and figure out how the heck I'm going to climb the ranks! Overall: 7.5/10 or 8/10, very much reccomend! The mix of strategy and puzzle gameplay promises to be fun and engaging. From RTS to Tower Defense! Part of me wanted to move on to PvZ: Garden Warfare this week but I decided to go with this one instead because I actually wanted to give it a try last night but didn't because I knew it was coming up in the list. I've heard great things about this and I do love a good tower defense so let's see how it goes! I bit the bullet and gathered all the healing supplies I would need to beat up the boss that was giving me trouble. Getting the healing supplies and getting to the boss took an hour. The actual fight went better then I planned. I healed when I needed to, let my companion do most of the fighting and revived her when she got hit by the massive laser. Everything was going well until I was hit by the massive instant-death laser... Yeah, I died. I was instantly filled with despair. Then I came back from the dead instantly. I forgot about the tea I drank that auto-revives me; my safety play paid off and I was happy. The boss died in one hit after and I beat the dungeon. I was rewarded for my hard work with a poorly drawn cut scene and the privilege to watch another Touhou Double Focus advertisement. I also got a trophy but nobody cares about those. I made it to another dungeon and I got stuck again. I have mostly worked out my strategy and tactics for the next boss. Fortunately, this dungeon is shorter and the boss seams easier. I would of defeated her already but I got a headache. Don't worry, I've had this problem for most of my life and I'll be fine after I get some sleep. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #5 - Burnout Paradise Remastered - Final Impressions Time played: 3-4h Trophies earned: 25/95 Didn't end up playing it as much as I thought I would, as I've been going back to Game of Thrones. Anyway, racing games fall under the category of genres where you don't really need to play a whole lot of, to be able to form an opinion on them. Burnout Paradise is a open world racing game, similar to the NFS games in recent years. You drive through a city, in search of races or just to explore the varous beaten paths. There are several different race tupes. Regular races, stunt races, marked man (other cars try to destroy you before you get to the finish line, burning routes (time trials that reward you with a better version of the car you used), road rage (destroy other racers), regular time trials and showtime (high score mode). There are 3different car tupes to do those races with.. Winning a set number of them, will spawn a car that you can take down, resulting in it's addition to your junkyard (garage). The city is cluttered with billboards, gates and ramps that may detract you from your destination. The driving is very arcady, and feels a tad stiff as a result. To be fair that doesn't bother me too much, contrary to some other things. So there is no waypoint system, or marking events on the map. There is no picking cars except at junkyard to which you can't fast travel to. Also, having to search for events is not a design choice I would've given the green light on. Got to give props to the general traffic AI though, they actually try to get out of your way. Need for Speed needs to adapt that, because their AI (racer or traffic) is a bunch of dicks, that literally try to crash into you. I'm not much of a fan of the menuing to be honest, it's just impractical. That I can forgive though, as they at least have Killswitch Engage, Saosin and Seether on their soundtrack list, as well as some other solid stuff. ANyway, it's the first in this event. It's fun, but there is still quite a lot of room for improvement. Edited July 16, 2019 by voodoo_eyes
Egozentrum
After finishing Final Fantasy XIII two days ago, my motivation to continue dropped below zero. I started XIII-2 in the meantime, but the story of this game sucks ass and I really don't wanna continue. The other stuff is boring as well. Wolfenstein is so bland and uninspired, its mere existence is a disgrace to all good shooters out there. Maybe I should do what I initially had in mind: Play Final Fantasy X. Or Mass Effect 2. Or Half-Life 3. Or just with my balls. After 30 years of gaming, my passion for video games seems to be at an all-time low.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #6 - Pyre - Preview So this is a game from Supergiant Games, who have a pretty good track record with me. Played a little Bastion before and it seemed good, but didn't quite grab me (still planning on getting back to that one at some point). A few KYC events back, I played Transistor as one of my games, and it was great, and have recently started my second playthrough of it. I've also seen gameplay for Hades, which is their newest one, and I'm hoping that it comes to consoles at some point. Now Pyre is a bit of an odd one... From what I've seen, I'm not sure if I like the gameplay. It's looks like some futuristic version of 3on3 basketball .Seems like a weird concept for a game, and it could potentially be my least gavourite of the bunch I've picked for this event. @PerryToxteth I recall The Invisible Hours being on my radar when it released, but then it was supposed to be VR only, and my interest for it dropped and never thought of it again. Since they've made VR optional now, I'll be keeping an eye out for it. Edited July 16, 2019 by voodoo_eyes
Popular Post Psy-Tychist
Trials Fusion. Playtime: 4 hours Played: 5/285 Challenges completed Trophies: 6/16 - 30% Base Game (35 DLC) Completion: 60.71% - ? 0.15% Feeling: Humbled and Chilled. I saw Trials years ago when it was originally on XBox Live Arcade as Trials HD and enjoyed watching the gameplay on Roosterteeth and the challenge it posed. Since then, Redlynx has made Trials Evolution and then Trials Fusion and most recently Trials Rising. Each iteration has become graphically more impressive and slightly more user-friendly but still is very challenging. So, how have I done so far in this physics driven arcade racer? The game is quite easy to grasp to begin with, the controls are simple and the training modules help you come to grips with slightly more advanced manoeuvers. The problem for casual gamers comes in the different bikes you have available. After the fourth area, you should have access to several bikes with slightly different speeds, accelerations, and weights. With each bike comes pitfalls and positives. The Baggie is the basic bike, evenly balanced, reasonable acceleration but has terrible top speed and grip. The Roach is heaviest which adds to its top speed has reasonable grip and good acceleration but no lift from jumps. The Pit Viper has the best acceleration and lift but top speed is low and is incredibly fidgety. Each track works best with certain bikes but most of all, with patience and practice on the players part. Personally, I have hit a brick wall when it comes to ability for the moment. There are many tracks which require momentum, maneuverability and advanced techniques after the fourth area (such as Endo Grabs, near vertical wall climbs and Bunny Hopping) and I haven't got the skills or the muscle memory for it at the moment, so am stuck. Trophy-wise, the game is going to be a giant pain in the ass to complete, completing all the tracks won't be the hardest part when you have the techniques down. The hardest part will be completing all 285 challenges and completing the final level. As only 281 people tracked have even achieved that, it will be a long time until that is achieved. Overall, the game is fun in small doses, the controls are tight but take an incredible amount of time to master and for trophy hunters, this will be a long and arduous road which will make or break them. If you like this (style of game), try these: Super Meat Boy, Trials of the Blood Dragon, Giana Sisters. Next Game: Tharsis.

Popular Post SixyLove
Review "Plan on There Being a Remake" Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded Playtime: 30 hours Trophies Earned: 13/45 21% Why this game? I was interested in buying Touhou Genso Wanderer but I forgot about that game. A remake came out so I wanted to buy the remake because remakes tend to be better then the original. I bought Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded during the Christmas sale last year with a bunch of other games and never got around to playing it. Original or Remake? I haven't actually played the original but from what I've heard online is that Reloaded is just the original game, DLC included, with a lot of new content. The only reasons to buy the original now is to play the game on Vita or you want to stack trophies. Gameplay I have little to no experience with dungeon crawlers. I have played a little (about a dungeon) of Pokemon Mystery games when I was a child. The only dungeon crawlers I own are Dragon Fin Soup (PS+), Dragon Crystal and Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God (I really liked the name so I bought the game). I didn't play those titles very much and haven't touched them in years. Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded is a dungeon Crawler. Your goal is to go adventure through many floors of a dungeon and sometimes beat up the boss at the end. Your goal each floor is to find the exit and not die; it's a good idea to find weapons, equipment, items and food and/or beat up the enemies for experience. On boss rooms, you just want to kill the boss before they kill you. Dungeons can have various modifier that make them easier or more difficult. Some don't allow you to bring anything in with you or bring your companion along. Some contain cursed items. I'll stick to mechanics that are consistent between dungeons because of this. You always start at level 1 (at least in every dungeon I've done) when entering a dungeon. You will gain experience points by defeating enemies.and level to increase your hit points (HP) and other stats. If you fail or leave the dungeon, you start over and your level goes back to 1. You explore dungeons on a turn system. You are allowed to use one action under normal conditions per turn. Doing anything besides shifting your characters orientation will use a turn. During a turn, you can move attack, throw use a item or wait. You can move to any tile that doesn't contain a non player character, wall or terrain you can't stand on. You can move diagonally in this game, there is even a button that you can hold to it will make it only possible to move diagonally; it's very useful because it can be difficult to move diagonally with the D-Pad. You are allowed to move with the analog stick but it just feels wrong with this type of game. Choosing to wait let's everyone else take their turn while you do nothing; it's good if you need to regenerate you heath or need a enemy to be in a certain position. You have two types of attacks. You can preform a basic attack that will attack whatever you're facing with your equipped weapon/s. Every character can use their Danmaku to attack. Every character has at least 4 Danmaku. Danmaku costs power cubes to use. Power cubes are common enemy drops and you can hold 30. In addition to your hit points, you also need to keep your tummy gauge full. The gauge will go down a little each turn and you must eat food to replenish it. As long as the gauge is above 0 you will recover HP every turn you're not fighting. If the gauge reaches zero, you lose HP every turn. The tummy gauge acts like a time limit and keeps gameplay fast. Floors have a turn limit but I have never reached it and only know it exists because I got a message warning me I was close to reaching it. Food is common enough that I rarely reach 0 and I've never died of hunger in a actual dungeon. There are 3 types of equipment, weapons, shields and charms. All equipment types can have abilities, resonance and seals. Abilities are passive effects a piece of equipment has; these rarely change if they can even be changed and are always active. Resonance are passives that only activate if another piece of equipment has the same resonance; these are a stable as the abilities. Seals are work the same as abilities but you are able to change them. Equipment can have slots for seals, you are able to give a equipment seals by fusing it with equipment with seals or by using seals on that piece of equipment. Weapons are used for attacking. Weapons come in two types, one handed and two handed. One handed weapons can be duel wheedled or used with a shield. Two handed weapons are very powerful but you can't hold another weapon or shield. Shields are your defensive item. They work automatically and make you take less damage. You can only equip one. Charms have there own slot and can always be equipped. Charms have the most powerful passive benefits. Talismans are scarps of magic paper that do various things. These items can be used multiple times but have a limited number of uses. If use use the throw command on a talisman, you will use all of it's uses but the effect may be more powerful. Medicine are items that you can drink for positive or negative effects. Drinking medicine will also restore a bit of tummy. Throwing medicine at a companion or enemy will give what every you hit the medicines effects. Spell cards are powerful one use items. Then can contain powerful effects or devastating attacks. Food, you eat it so you don't starve. It may give you a beneficial or negative effect. Gaps are some of the most powerful items in the game if you use them well. There are many different gap types gaps but most I've seen interact with the other items in interesting ways. Gaps can have between 1 and 9 charges. You also can have a companion tag along on your dungeon exploring, well most of the time. Your companion just tags along and will help you kill enemies, They're AI controlled but you can give them 4 commands. Follow me; they will follow behind you and will attack enemies if you are fighting them. Fight with me; they will follow you but if a enemy is within range, they will make it their one goal to kill them. Explore; they will go explore the dungeon on their own and kill anything they see. Wait; they will stand still but will attack anything in range. Companions also have Danmaku and will use it a random. Companion can be equipped with a weapon (no two handed or duel wielding), a shield and charm. Companions don't have a tummy gauge to manage. If they die, they're dead until you use a revive spell card or you find a shrine. Floors also have traps on certain tiles. You can't see them under normal conditions (Gap Trap being the only exception) unless you attack the space they're on. Traps are there just to ruin your day. There are too many traps to mention here but 99% of the time they're bad. Story I can't be bothered to talk about the story. There are multiple story lines in this game that involve a incident that a duo of characters must solve by clearing a dungeon and beating a boss. I haven't encounter all the characters yet so I won't do the thing where I point out all the important character's unlikable traits and write things about them in this review. Maybe next time. Graphics and Sound The game looks good. There a a few fully animated cut scenes but the majority are visual novel style; only facial changes between lines. The music is very good, not surprising being Touhou Project, but I enjoy everything I heard so far. I really enjoy that the weapons and shields you equip show up on your character and companion. Trophy Thoughts I think this game will be a bitch to platinum. It may be the hardest one I ever complete, if I ever get around to it. I'm adding it to the list but it's not very high up. Final Thoughts I really like this game. I can't wait to come back to it in the future. I'll definitely review it again. I will be awhile because the game has a lot of content and I get threw it at a slow pace. Sorry if it seems like I gave up half through the review; it is only like that because I gave up. I want to do other things today. Update 014 "It's good!!?" Valkyria Revolution Playtime: 6 hours Trophies Earned: 6/28 10% This game didn't live up to my expectations at all. I expected it to be a terrible game that I would force myself to play for the sake of this event. To my surprise, I'm actually enjoying this game. It's not perfect but I'm having a great playing this. I would still be playing if I wasn't obligated to write a Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded review today. So far I'm very invested in the story and the characters. I'm having a very fun time with the gameplay so far. The game struggles in the visual department but I'll save my complaints for the review.
voodoo_eyes
So, I got the plat for Game of Thrones and my opinion on it didn-t change really. It's a decent game, that lacks polish.Unfotunately it overstays it's welcome a bit, as some of the chapters seem to drag on for way too long.. There's also 3 different endings and one plot twist towards the end, that I didn't quite see coming. THe final boss fight was way too easy, compared to a lot of the other fights in this game, that was a bit of an odd one. In other news, I'll also be making a couple of changes to my list. I'm replacing Battlefield 1 and Torment: Tides of Numenara with Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Pillars of Eterntiy respectively.
Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #4 - The Silver Case HD Time played: 4.5 hours Trophies: 6/26 (11% - E) I went from one visual novel to another and I feel that the two games could not be more different. The Silver Case is one of Goichi Suda's early games that he directed and co-wrote. You may know him better as Suda51, known for game such as killer7 and the No More Heroes series. The game has you control a self-insert character that you name (though one of the characters gives you the nickname "Big Dick"). Through a set of bizarre murders, you eventually become a part of the 24th Precinct, helping the detectives with certain cases. While most of the scenes in-game are text only, there are several cutscenes and exploration parts where you must explore an area to continue the game. However, the exploration can get a bit clunky as the interface was seemingly not updated at all from its original release way back in 1999, so the adventure sequences just feel awkward and difficult to navigate at times. The game has updated many of its in-game portraits and textures, but some of it still looks like it stepped out of the PS1, like the building in case #0. There are also some live-action cutscenes that pop up at certain points, but they aren't utilized as much as you would expect. So far, I've finished the first two cases, case #0 Lunatics and case #1 Decoyman. It seems, through what I've played, that everything seems to have been resolved overall between the two cases. Of course, with another chapter being unlocked, that is obviously not the case for the entire game, but the ending for case #1 did seem to wrap up everything by the end of it. I've also unlocked the first Placebo chapter, where you take control of a reporter who covers the investigation in each case, excluding case #0. Obviously the story is the highlight here, as is with most visual novels, and this one seems to be interesting enough to keep heading forward. Another thing that really sets this apart is the music; it really sets up each scene pretty well and is definitely one of the highlights of this game. I'm definitely interested in continuing this further as I really like mystery-based visual novels, despite the lackluster graphics and gameplay. There's even settings that let you restore some of the graphics and other things to the original PS1 effects, and playing through a full case like this is required for one of the trophies. I'll probably do that after I've finished all of them. Starting completion %: 71.51% Current completion %: 70.97% Difference: -0.54% Mary Skelter: Nightmares - 10/34 (14% - D) Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll - 2/42 (2% - E) [Apex Legends - 3/12 (15% - D)] Nurse Love Addiction - 16/25 (56% - C) My completion percentage only went down 0.04% due to the fact that I actually got more invested into Nurse Love Addiction the more I pushed through it. I will amend my earlier review later on, but it definitely gets better as you explore the actual routes rather than just the normal ending where nothing happens, so that's an improvement. I also did finish Fill-a-Pix as well to push that out of the way. I did say I would play Fate/extella link in my last post, right? Maybe that's next. There's only one game that's a download left, so I'm going to have to go through these physical copies sooner or later.
