Is Wolfenstein 2 a "woke" game?

Don't wanna ask this on game's forum since it's more political question. I haven't played it yet but a friend of mine loved it at release. From what he told me it actually sounded like anti-woke game, criticizing modern political climate and SJWs.

 

However from what I read on the internet, it's exact opposite and it takes shots at Trump and similar topics. I'm sick of SJW agenda being shoved into games and I want to avoid it as much as possible.

 

So people who played it, how was it? Avoid major spoilers, please.

It's a fun game, with good mechanics and fun gameplay..

 

The game has Nazis in it, if that makes it anti SJW then sure whatever.. Just play it and enjoy it for god sake..

If you are a white supremacist then chances are you won't like certain aspects like an NPC important to the plot and certain lines of dialogue. It also features strong women and breastfeeding. So, you should probably head back inside your cave.

 

Edit: No gay people though that I can remember so if your problem is respecting other people's sexualities then you can play it fine.

Personally, I come from a long heritage of Nazi-punchers, as my grandfather was a tank commander in North Africa during World War II. And the present day has not entirely enough Nazi-punching to suit my needs, being that they now call themselves the "alt-right" and they're apparently a valid viewpoint we're supposed to allow a stage to word-vomit from. It absolutely is an SJW game, it's got the whole package. It also features some of the ugliest characters you will ever see in a videogame because beauty standards and leftism don't go together. It's got a lot of SJW shit in it. I've been playing it on the Switch (platinum is too hard for me) And I've been enjoying it. While I do like Nazis because they have cool outfits I still think it's fun to slaughter them. To answer your question, the game doesn't feel political at all. Sure there are SJW crap in it like a pregnant woman fighting Nazis made no sense. But I honestly don't care, the game is just fun as hell. I still think DOOM is waaaaaay better. Hell, Old Blood was freaking awesome. Wolfenstien 2 just doesn't feel like "Wolfenstien". If that makes sense.

I haven’t played it but from everything I’ve heard it’s not simply a fun game about killing nazis like the previous entries in the series, it seems like the writers have felt the need to go above and beyond in places to equate the games cutscenes and situations to modern political Twitter hysteria of all things - So depending on which side of the aisle you lean on you may be rolling your eyes through the cutscenes or find it relatable 

 

Lol I guess you can skip cutscenes, and to be honest if you do that you probably won’t be missing much regardless of political leaning. Gameplay is what it’s all about

It had all the ingredients from the very start and it just keeps getting better. "Woke", the SJW acronym, Nazis, Trump, people who are too lazy to spell out the word "cuckold" and clearly don't understand its definition. I'm one square from getting Bingo. ?

I literally laugh to myself every time I read one of your posts. I guess with Trump in office there isn’t a limit to the amount of ignorance people spew out of their mouths these days. Here’s to hoping things get better in 2020.

Strange, while I admittedly never played this game myself (and never will thanks to the series being censored to the point of insanity in germany) I had the distinct impression so far that you pretty much have to be a racist to love this game, although a white hating racist, because the gameplay looked quite bad so the cringy "dem white boyyys baaad y'knaw" cutscenes are what must get it over with these people. Not that I care too much, If you ask me games should be allowed to do absolutely anything including racism against whatever race they have beef with, as getting offended by games is not usually my thing, but that is the clear impression I got from trailers, videos and people talking about it, so just another reason to give this one a pass.

I never could agree more. this was not a wolfenstein game. Wolfenstein was about you being the only guy who can be behind enemy lines and kick the asses of the Nazis and wolf 2 just does all this crap plus limit your hp turning you into a stealth character for most of the game where fighting it like an old wolfenstein game is gone. just out the window like the songs. it is a crap game.

 

I rather play new order or old blood or hell go back to return to castle wolfenstein then this. but I sadly have to put an end to the trophies and once it is am throwing this on the bookcase to never be played again.

This wasn't a bait though I knew it would get spicy. That's why I put it here instead of the game's forum. I come from ex-socialist country so I know too well what communism really is and I'm watching the events in America with very skeptical eye. I'm sick of politically correct culture that's growing in the west and SJW agendas getting mixed into media that don't need it. Free speech is getting censored just like "in the old days".

 

Only two comments to potentially label me a white supremacist. ? I'm almost honored since you know, these days even ortodox jews are being called nazis. I'm a centrist, liberal, btw. Pro-abortion, pro-LGBT, not that it matters.

 

From that video it seems the game's not for me even though I platinumed first one and loved it (Old Blood was boring, imho). I don't agree with some stuff said there and I laughed at the bathing-in-blood sex scene (it's so over the top, I love it) but overall it's a good case for why the game is definitely woke. I don't want to inflame any arguments here but I just can't ignore the insanity on the left in the west. My problem is people focus too much on the “political” aspect of things more than just enjoying what it was meant to be: a video game. 

 

This generation is a bunch of sissy SJW, overly sensitive snowflakes. Anything you say can be held against you. That is political correctness at its finest. 

 

In many ways this draws parallel to what African Americans had to go through before Martin Luther King Jr said “enough is enough” and brought The Civil Rights Movement. Giving minorities an opportunity that was not available to them in the past. 

 

Now you have a bunch of ‘feminazis’ saying they hate white people just because. I have zero respect for any of them and they should be thrown in jail for expressing such racism. 

 

Just because Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Glenn Beck and the rest of those clowns say it, that does not mean every ‘white’ person who is older supports the same fucked up values. 

 

Politics has twisted this generation into being a bunch of crybabies and overly politically correct jackasses.

Yes it is, actually one of the wokest ones along with BFV, how they market it, the leftist content it has (which praises communism), the wahmen "power" cliche reflected in the female characters and how BJ gets constantly trashed through the game will let you see that this isnt a Wolfenstein game but instead a political propaganda turned into a "game" (yes, even the gameplay is trash when you compare it to the previous titles), check the video that panikooooos left, so you can get an idea of how woke the game is in case like me, you despise political propaganda games.

I can understand where you come from and I have the same kind of view point. but however. The reason why people who are like myself hate this game as it pushes the sjw crap down your neck plus the gameplay is not fun. you can't play this game like other wolfenstein games. you must run and hide behind cover and stealth around and if your spotted your gun down and can die very fast even with 200 armour and overcharged hp of 200.

 

While I might come off as a hater of wolfenstein 2 to hell and back it is because they will make more games like this. Think of your fav game series. and then have it throw random crap you don't care about in the next entry and or has nothing to do with the game other then pushing the devs outlooks onto you. The gameplay does not have any kind of feeling to that series at all on top. that is how I feel with this game. I don't care for sjw crap. Hell have a ball is what I say as I could careless about it. However once it is in games, I will put my foot down as it is like poison. It will try to push random bs then tell a story that aint about pushing crap on to you. It will make the experience be too close to home/ to out of the game. It sucks you out of the game to remember the bs world we are in and so on.

 

We play games for both fun and to escape our day to day lives not be reminded of it every bit of the way.

 

While I might come off like am kind of going onto rant mode here just giving my outlook as I agree with your outlook and also don't at the same time. As I come from a place where games are to be enjoyed and not push crap like that down on us.
