Thanks I am not at the level of "RL1 Naked Club Only run" sadly, I will use every tool at my disposal that is not a summoning. Can't afford to spend 3 weeks at Margit There's some bosses where reflexes won't work, in that case I am using the Bloodhound Step. Goddamn Miyazaki trained us to dodge in a certain rhythm, just to mess everything up in Elden Ring

Hah, truth be told, it's not the Elden Beast that I am afraid of in this run . That boss might be a massive pain, but at least it doesn't keep saying "I am Malenia Blade of Miquella" over and over again. Heck, I hope I CAN reach the Haligree, considering that I have to avoid a crapton of invisible assassins in order to activate that stupid portal..

You make this shit look so easy, which I know from personal experience is far from the case! Thoroughly impressed with your flawless fight with Radahn.. I always fought him at range (pussy Astrologer was my choice ?), so I was basically today years old when I realized he has a horse underneath him... Poor horse, having to carry his fat ass around all day! ? Anyway, this is quite fantastical man, definitely looking forward to hearing about the rest of your SL1 journey... Many thanks for the appreciation dude The shit only LOOKS easy, but I think I had over 30 tries at Radahn. Holy crap is he a beast! The biggest issue is that spin of his, he can position behind your ass and instakill you just because the camera can't keep up with his erratic movement. His lore is mad dope though. He loved his horse so much (named Leonard btw) that he learned gravity magic so he won't let his entire weight on the horse. Also he stopped a comet or two from falling. He might be the most badass boss in the entire game lorewise. Too bad he looks silly as hell with that tiny horse galloping at top speed ? The beauty of Dark souls series is that "the weakest entry" is purely a subjective matter ?for instance the weakest for me was Sekiro and I still thought it was mad amazing. I do think you will have a fantastic time with the game. It's only considered "weakest" by hardcore fans or people that are in it for the memes. It really is a fantastic game actually, in which you will dump a huge amount of time should you start it. It's one of the few games where you can also wield two ultragreatswords, one blue and one red, and you can "explode the world" ? Popular Post Copanele
The Foul Tarnished Experience - an Elden Ring story Part 4 - Rumble in the Capital INTRODUCTION: In the last episode I visited Lunar Princess Ranni and properly started her quest. I wanted initially to go to Nokron and grab the Black Whetblade. which would allow me to infuse with Bleed, Poison and Occult. Buuut... I wasn't feeling like diving into the depths of the earth, since the things there are scary and dangerous. I decided to finally tackle The Capital of the Lands Between, Leyndell, unlock my final pouch for talismans and open the path to Mountaintops of the Giants and final tier of upgrade materials. Going into the capital via the main gates is impossible - they are locked shut and you can't open them with your frail Tarnished arms. Instead, you must go in a roundabout way and enter through a back door ....whiiich was guarded by the first major enemy and boss of Leyndell ROUND 1 - Draconic Tree Sentinel This boss was insanely dangerous. This variant of Tree Sentinel is an armored mounted heavy knight that wields a large club and a dragon shield. He hops around and slams that stupid hammer everywhere, creating shockwaves, if you sit by his right side, or slams the shield around if you sit by his left side. Most of this attacks are somewhat predictable, but he has a sudden point blank bonk attack that I never managed to read. His horse can spit fireballs too, for...some reason. Suffice to say, one hit is an instant kill at this point. Things get even more hectic in phase 2 when he unlocks his lightning powers. All of his attacks do get through your shield unless you have lightning resistance. He unlocks 2 new attacks, a sort of lightning rain that drops randomly in a set area and a homing lightning bolt which must be dodged at the right time. The Sentinel doesn't have the lightning powers indefinitely, which is when he unleashes his most dangerous attack. After a set time he creates a lightning wave and then he slams the hammer into the ground for a huge Area of effect attack. I decided to block the first attack and run away from the second one, because I have NO idea what the hitboxes are for those attacks. I tried a lot of tactics, fought mounted (died instantly), tried my zweihander (tried instantly), tried my katana (got him to 50% and then died instantly). Finally I got angry, used my AIDS Needle Antspur Rapier and the Morningstar, Scarlet Rot his ass with the rapier and then whittled his health little by little with the Morningstar. It took an absurd amount of tries but finally the monster fell and the capital was unlocked, ready for the taking. Winner : Tarnished One Leyndell might be one of the most beautiful cities Fromsoftware ever developed. Really, I think they outdid themselves with the vista, the dead dragon, the huge tree and all that. Visually it is a 10/10 Traversing this damn city however...lord in Heavens have mercy. I have NO idea where each street goes where and why and what. Obviously everything big or small can shank you big time, from the white trumpet singers that throw bubbles at you to the assassins with the explosive crossbows , to the knights in golden armor that buff themselves with the power of wind and of course, to the goddamn dogs that are as vicious as ever. Leyndell is a nightmarish place covered in gold and you will feel it in every nook and cranny. I did try to fight the enemies but since most of them travel in groups...I had to apply the ye olde Metal Gear method of sneaking around, putting arrows in unsuspecting enemies and running like crazy when things got heated. By sheer dumb luck I also unlocked the Leyndell Sewers, a completely different area where enemies are way more high level and aggressive. I tried to face them one by one but every single fight devolved into one outcome: Managed to sneak past lobsters, get all the available Smithing Stone upgrades, had a run-in with gravity and finally found the supposedly final boss of the area Mogh the Omen. I tried to fight him and...I got pancaked so hard that I said "HELL NO, I will return here later once I have a +25 weapon". My +16 2 handed zweihander barely did 200 damage to the damn monster, while he effortlessly one shot me. So I fucked off with tears in my eyes and in my trousers, promising to get back. Winner: Mogh the asshole Back to the actual capital - after fumbling my way around, I managed to find a huge branch that was connected to an upper area of the map. Climbed it, avoiding every tree guardian and found myself facing the second main boss, none other than Godfrey, The First Elden Lord. Or at least, his Golden Shade. Golden Godfrey (in short, GG) is a very straightforward and fair boss. He's similar to False King Allant or Artorias in a sense, he has huge telegraphed attacks and foot slams that cover an area of effect. He is simple BUT he is not easy to beat! Patience and reaction is still needed, because one wrong roll and his axe will one shot you. Compared to the Draconic Sentinel, he was more manageable. Still stole some wins from me, but I finally put him down and grabbed the fourth pouch talisman. Winner: Tarnished One With GG done, I was set for the final boss of the area. Except...one more obstacle appeared. The city itself. I defeated Godfrey, I went around, checked the next area, got sprayed by a perfumer, fell down a roof, went in circles... ...yep I got mad lost. I had no idea where I was. Complaining didn't work. Messaging @DrBloodmoney with complaints didn't work, he got mad lost in the city as well. What the hell Fromsoft? It's my second playthrough and I STILL got lost? In the end, I checked Google shamefully and just saw that there was a stupid ass branch popping out of a window that took me DIRECTLY to the next and final boss of the area... Anywayyyy, my beautiful trip came to an end, because it was time to face Morgott, the Omen King. Morgott is an amazing boss. Morgott has a ton of moves. Morgott is also a piece of shit that can corner you big time and deadlock you into an inescapable situation. Goddamnit Miyazaki wy did you curse us with this boss? The boss is VERY dangerous in regular runs, I don't have to tell you how nasty he is at RL1. Not only he has super fast attacks, no range is safe from him. He can throw knives in an arc, charge you with his holy spear, slam with a hammer, slash and so on. Phase 2 is even MORE dangerous, he ...barfs....some weird ooze that covers the entire arena and every attack slammed into the ground causes a geyser to pop. Usually he slams his attacks when he has an opening, with that geyser the damage window is minimal, so you really need to know his moveset before attacking. I think I died the most at Morgott. Most of the time because of his random spin attacks, but also because he CAN corner you. I can't say Morgott was cheap, he was VERY tough but a fair fight. However, I was simply not doing enough damage, despite having a +17 Cold Uchigatana. It was a battle of attrition and Morgott was always winning. I needed more power and I remembered that Powerstancing is a thing in this game. So I quickly had a short detour to Caelid Gaol Cave (nice dungeon btw), picked up the Wakizashi, levelled it up to +13 and went back to face the Mayor of Leyndellville. After many duels, in which the Wakizashi truly showed its worth, I did finally manage to kill him. It took 2 days but damn did it feel good. With Morgott Dead and the path opened, I darted through Mountaintops of the Giants to grab an upgrade stone and make my Uchigatana a +21. Final score: Bosses defeated: 61/165 Areas completed: Limgrave - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Weeping Peninsula - Hardest boss: Ancient Hero of Zamor Equipment: Zweihander +18 - back in my good graces after pulverizing Golden Godfrey Lightning Morningstar +18 Cold Uchigatana +21 Antspur Rapier +18 Pulley Bow +9 Torch for lighting the areas Inverted Hawk Heater Shield Buckler for parry god moments Crimson Hood (+1 Vigor) Raptor's Black Feathers (increases jumping attacks damage) Sage Trousers (because I need pantaloons) Radagon's Soreseal (+5 in VGR, END, STR, DEX) Starscourge Heirloom (+5 STR) Green Turtle Talisman/Ritual Sword Talisman Psyhick Flask - Crimson Crystal Tear (restores half HP)/Opaline Bubbletear (negates 1 hit) Lords defeated: Godrick the Grafted Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Starscourge Radahn Morgott the Omen King MAP PROGRESSION Spoiler What's next? Sadly one boss must die - Commander Niall. He is one bastard of a boss but he also has the second Haligtree medallion half. Need his trinket so I can get access to Consecrated Snowfield area and finally get my weapon to +25. THEN I can get back to cleaning up the previous areas (Liurnia, Caelid etc) Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele

Popular Post Copanele
The Foul Tarnished Experience - an Elden Ring story Part 5 - Shooting for the Stars Mountaintop of the Giants! The beautiful place where everything gets 5 times more unfair in Elden Ring this is the part of the game where previously dangerous bosses are reduced to measly grunts, every single one of them wanting a Tarnished piece. Since fighting them was a complete no-go, my first goal was reaching Castle Sol, because that's where the second half of the Haligtree Medallion was. A simple +21 Uchigatana sword would simply not cut it, I needed the fully upgraded piece. So off I went to Castle Sol, avoiding every single grunt on my way (because honestly at this point fighting the enemies is useless - they take a million hits to die whilst you get obliterated in one sneeze). The Castle itself was quite easy to traverse - weird, I remember it being a lot more bigger. Huh...Other than the pesky lion at the gates, the path to the inner Grace was pretty simple. All I needed to do was to defeat the main boss of the Castle, Commander Niall. And Commander Niall showed me what it means to be a cheating bastard of a boss The main issue with Niall is that he starts the fight by summoning 2 Banished Knights, a dual sword variant and a sword&shield variant. These assholes are very dangerous to face since they can, of course, one shot you with ease. Thankfully, these knights are vulnerable to the Bewitching Branch, an item that can turn an enemy into a temporary ally for a while. Using the Bewitching Branch on the dual swordsman is the way to go, since that one is more dangerous than the boss itself. Of course, he dies instantly, leaving me to deal with only the Sword&Shield soldier. Once both soldiers are dead the true fight begins. Niall summons the powers of frost and lightning and charges his peg leg to attack you. Yes you read that right. Niall goes "ARR me hearties " in the air and tries to slam a bolt of lightning down your throat. While massively dangerous, Niall is also predictable and prone to parrying, which allowed me to successfully best him and grab the second haligtree medallion from him. Now with both medallions, it was time to activate the secret passage from the Lift of Rold and reach the Consecrated Snowfield. And this is where I believe that Elden Ring is actually Dark Souls II 2 - Consecrated Snowfield is a horrible place full of blizzards, wolf riders, NPC invaders and so on, reminding me of the Frigid Outskirts in Dark Souls 2. Thankfully all I had to do here was grabbing all sorts of goodies to level up my Uchigatana to +25 and finally be POWERFUL. Also unlocked the Yelough Anix Tunnel, a perfect dungeon to farm +7 and +8 smithing stones. Also while I was at it I also accessed Mohgwyn Palace just to get the extra goodies. NOW I was ready to traverse the dreaded underground. My plan is to clean up everything that can be cleaned up before setting fire to the Erdtree. That includes the side quests and missable bosses (aka Fia Questline and Ranni Questline). I had to get through several steps in order to get all the quests done. STEP 1 - RENNALA, QUEEN OF THE FULL MOON Magic lady had to fall first, since she has an item in her boss room that I need to get later. The run towards her was actually easy, minus the stupid boulder on the staircase that flattened me like Crash Bandicoot several times. The fight itself is a marvelous spectacle of lights and creepiness. However the boss herself...let's say that even at Rune Level 1, I was abit too overpowered with my +25 Uchigatana The first step was very easy to complete. Rest assured, the next one is not as pleasant. STEP 2 - FIA'S QUESTLINE Getting to Fia is way more of a headache compared to Rennala. Fia and Ranni's questlines are linked, I had to progress through Ranni's quest in order to unlock Fia's hidden fight. First thing to do is to go through the giant crater opened by Radahn into Nokron the Eternal City. After defeating various zombie forest dwellers (Regal Ancestor Spirit, Mimic Tears and whatnot), I got the Fingerslayer Blade. Returned this to Ranni in exchange for the Carian Inverted Statue. I WILL PUT A PIN HERE, WE'LL RETURN TO THIS POINT LATER ?. After going through an upside-down temple (filled to the brim with stupid handcrawlers and an annoying mage that shoots nuke arrows)and grabbed the item that was required for Fia's Questline, some Sekiro-ish cursemark. Now that the stupid fetch quest was over, it was time to get back to Nokron and fight the worst bosses I have faced in my run thus far: Valiant Gargoyles. Honestly, there's one thing that's absolutely stupid in Elden Ring, and that's the dual boss fights. Miyazaki really wanted us to abuse the summons and Spirit Ashes because normally these enemies aren't meant to be fought alone. The trick to this fight is - you face one Valiant Gargoyle at first who has a sword and an axe. He can switch between the sword and axe at any time. He also has a very dangerous poison breath that will damage you and kill you in 2 seconds max if you sit in it. Thankfully his attacks are rather predictable. Problem is when you reduce his health to 50%, that's when the second gargoyle shows up. This one has a twinblade and an axe. The problem with this second gargoyle is his poison attack, since he can spam it anywhere on the map. Imagine that you are facing and positioning yourself versus the first gargoyle, just to be barf covered randomly by the second one and die in 2 seconds. Paired with janky hitboxes and phantom hits, I really disliked this fight. The solution was to get rid of the first Gargoyle as fast as possible before the second one could even come close enough. Easier said than done at Rune Level 1...not even my trusty +25 Uchigatana could cut through the fucker, since he is immune to all kind of ailments. The only thing the gargoyles are LESS RESISTANT TO(not vulnerable, please...) is strike damage aka bonk with a big piece of wood or hammer. The final build for this fight was - Heavy Great Stars +22, Magic Resin and Bloodboil Aromatic that increased my damage by 30% while severely dropping all my defenses. This was enough to absolutely pulverize the first gargoyle before the second one managed to figure out why he's not part of a gank fight anymore. Even with that build however, I was kinda lucky to beat these assholes, definitely the hardest fight so far. Can't really call it a 100% mastered boss fight, but honestly I'll take it, I don't want to see these 2 idiots again After getting rid of Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, I had to...climb a waterfall...via a coffin...to reach Deeproot Depths. Not my preferred method of transportation but whatever works, I guess. Deeproot Depths is the place I wanted to get to in order to reach Fia, but traversing it is another matter entirely. The place is infested with gigantic ants, basilisks, phantom soldiers and a TON of roots. Really, the entire area is a maze that can get you to dead ends or dead ends with deadly enemies. Honestly I mostly stumbled around, finding Graces to rest to by sheer mistake. I also faced the side boss of the area, Crucible Knight Siluria. I wouldn't normally share his fight, but this one was special. Let's just say that the weakest part of any Elden Ring boss are the knees ? Now after dealing with this pesky opponent I FINALLY found the actual way to Fia. She was laying in a huge arena near the body of Godwyn, the former Demigod turned Prince of Death (actually a squid with a mermaid tail...I have no idea what that is). But to talk to Fia I had to deal with her Champions. Fia's Champions is...an interesting boss fight. You will need to face a random opponent, then Rogier the mage who wields a rapier and glintstone magic, then a gank squad of 3 opponents, two randoms one of them being Lionel the Lionhearted. Playing this boss offline will always give you the same NPCs, however playing online will really mix and mash the random opponents. I have faced dual wielding greatsword brutes, naked swordsmen, Rivers of Blood spammers, every kind of build possible. It was pretty fun but also frustrating since the NPCs can endlessly chase you or pelt you with magic. I really recommend the Zweihander here. In this game, the Zweihander is the NPC killer After dealing with the white "m'lady" knights, I finally reached Fia. Hugged her dearly (it's what you do in this game) and after talking to her for a little bit and showing her the cursemark that I got from Ranni, she fell into a deep slumber, allowing me to finally face my actual target of this dumb quest - Lichdragon Fortissax. Fortissax is the final boss of Fia's quest and is a behemoth of a dragon. He can spit deadly fumes, cover the arena in lightning and fire, being near him gets you zapped with a lightning bolt after a set amount of time, this is a legendary dragon worthy of praise. I really prepared with my best equipment, equipped 2 rapiers (Antspur AIDS rapier and Frozen Needle), said my prayers and faced myself, preparing for the worst.... ....the stupid dragon fell in 4 tries. Really, Fia's Champions were more difficult than this lizard Fortssax, more like Fortisucks. There was only one strategy - run through his legs, poke, run away, wait for him to turn, rinse and repeat. Eventually dodge his super predictable lunge. I think I went overprepared for this fight because my god was he easy to beat. With Fortissax defeated, Fia's quest ended. Now back to the Pin that I added before. STEP 3 - RANNI'S QUESTLINE Now after receiving the cursemark, Ranni disappears and another tower opens up next to her initial place. You need to enter this tower to continue Ranni's questline. By entering this tower, you will find a small doll similar to Ranni. Talking to her 3 times at the nearby Grace reveals that her spirit actually got transposed into this doll. Since Ranni is an ever-demanding witch, you have to defeat a Baleful Shadow to get to the next part of her questline. To reach the shadow ,you have to go through of the most beautiful maps in the game - Nokstella The Eternal City. It's a beautiful yet treacherous area, similar to Nokron, filled to the brim with Mimic Tears and huge rolling balls. Unfortunately most of the goodies here help a fully fledged mage, stuff that is unavailable to me at RL1. So sprinted through this amazing place, reached the end, found the Baleful Shadow and defeated it with some Zweihander thrusts. Ranni thanks me and leaves me alone to deal with the next section of the game, which is probably the most evil place Miyazaki has developed - The Lake of Rot. I will link the main article here, but the TL;DR version is, Miyazaki himself said "While making this game I rediscovered my love for making poison swamps," he told Game Informer. "I know how people feel about them but I suddenly realize I'm in the middle of making one and I can't help myself. It just happens." Well it fucking shows, because Lake of Rot is pure abysmal. Imagine Map 5-2 from Demon's Souls that kills you in 3 seconds. The entire area is filled to the brim with Scarlet Rot water which rapidly builds up and poisons you in no time. This is no mere poison, you take a ton of damage if you get poisoned by Scarlet Rot (kinda like Toxic in DS1). I had to farm for an entire Mushroom set, immunity raising talismans and Flame, Cleanse Me pyromancy to even stand a chance against this literal cess pool. Not to mention that I also had to face a Dragonkin Soldier which I briefly cheesed with a bow because ain't nobody have time for that. Now after being done with this piece of shit area I reached the big kahuna of Ranni's quest - Astel Naturalborn of the Void. Astel is...I have no idea. Lore says he's a fallen meteor but to me he looks like a celestial skeleworm. A very weird Lovecraftian boss, Astel uses the powers of gravity and stars to melt you from any position of the map. His most annoying attack is the teleportation one, he can either fuck off to the opposite end of the map or zap right behind you to grab and one shot you. However his head is 3 times your size, perfect opportunity to poke him with your best tools (in my case the rapiers). So Astel the great outer God got stabbed by 2 toothpicks. Appropriate. After dealing with this monstruous being, I reached the end of my Ranni's chase - the Moonlight Plateau. Defeated a pesky glintstone dragon and finally found my Ranni, all bloody and battered, her quest completed. I gave her the ring that I picked off from Rennala's room and she rewarded me with the Moonlight Greatsword, the signal that her quest was finally over. CLEANUP TIME! Liurnia, Altus, Volcano Manor and Leyndell have to be clean as a whistle before tackling the Fire Giant. Just to make sure I won't miss any boss after preparing the world's largest bonfire. I need to get to Farum Azula so I can get the final bell from the stupid Foreskin Duo bosses.
Popular Post Copanele
The Foul Tarnished Experience - an Elden Ring story Part 5.5 - A small cleanup intermission I did a small clean up of various areas before going after the Fire Giant. I didn't clean all the areas mentioned in the previous posts, but I wanted to make sure I don't accidentally lock out any boss after burning the Erdtree. I sure as hell don't want to replay this game just to beat a random ass dungeon that I missed the first time around So, without further ado, the quickfire version: LIURNIA OF THE LAKES With a +25 Uchigatana and a +22 Zweihander, this area was very easy to complete. Really, haven't met any significant resistance, I was mostly plastered by the environment and random arrows than the actual bosses. Probably the most exciting fight was with Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader, one of the perpetrators of the Night of the Black Knifes. Definitely the hardest Black Knife Assassin to defeat from the game, however she is incredibly easy to parry. Didn't take too many tries and it was overall a very fun fight. She currently is the best summon from what I've heard (outdoing the mimic tear after several nerfs), but well this run does not allow summons ALTUS PLATEAU This area was way tougher to complete. The bosses were quite a pain in the ass, showing that the game does not mess around anymore. In order, the enemies that gave me the most headaches: Elemer of the Briar - the big bad Bell Bearing Hunter, Elemer is found in the Shaded Castle in the north of Altus Plateau, in the middle of a swamp (thanks Miyazaki). He has all the movesets of the regular Hunters, except now you have to fight him in a very cramped space. Best bet is to keep close to him and beat him with a fast weapon, fighting him at range is where he's the most dangerous Ancient Dragon Lansseax - the sister of Fortissax (from the end of Fia's quest), Lansseax has pretty much the same attacks of fire and lightning, minus the deadly cloud farts that Fortissax did. Lansseax was a way tougher fight for me for one stupid reason: the terrain. She would either fly into some rocks or get me stuck into trees or aggro random knights to attack me (they were not part of the fight). It was a frustrating fight that relied on positioning and a bit of luck. I died more because of the stupid rocks than Lansseax herself. Fallingstar Beast - oh this stupid bug-cow-meteor enemy...The worst in Altus Plateau mainly because of the same issue - damn terrain. I faced the same enemy in Sellia Crystal Tunnels and the Beast there is not as awful to face. In Altus, the beast will charge you, stop randomly, hit you with phantom attacks (or miss you completely) and mainly make you tear your hair at how stupid the positioning is. LEYNDELL&SURROUNDINGS Here I lied a bit - I did NOT clean up Leyndell completely. In fact I have one more boss to fight: a duo, Crucible Knight Ordovis&Regular Crucible Knight. Whoever fought these assholes might understand why I avoided them for now, they are really a challenge even in a regular run. But other than that, Leyndell itself was pretty chill, safe for one boss: Mohg the Omen. You find this boss in the catacombs and so far....he's the hardest I've faced. Mohg is the brother of Morgott and he is "imprisoned" in the Catacombs. Except he isn't - what you fight there is an illusion. Mohg the Omen has NO WEAKNESSES and he fights you in a small ass room filled with benches and pillars. Every hit of his is a one shot and what's worst, he shoots at you with bloodflame spells that burn you and inflict bleed over time. The hardest part however are his stupid delays that are quite difficult to read. I ate so many tridents to the face before I finally learned what his gimmicks are. Normally I like to wear clothes when facing bosses, mix and mash to see what looks best/what can give me an advantage. Unfortunately since Mohg proved to be a bigger pain in the ass than anticipated, I did the only thing I hate to do in Souls games - I stripped to improve my rolling and to get an extra damage bonus from light equip load. So butt naked, armed with a rapier and the Carian Retaliation skill ("parry" Mohg's blood shower to summon some swords), I finally managed to beat this horned bastard after many, MANY tries. Hope his real version won't take this long.... Final score: Bosses defeated: 117/167 Areas completed: Limgrave - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Weeping Peninsula - Hardest boss: Ancient Hero of Zamor Siofra River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier Nokron Eternal City - Hardest boss: Valiant Gargoyles Deeproot Depths - Hardest boss: Fia's Champions Lake of Rot - Hardest boss: Astel Naturalborn of the Void Ainsel River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella Liurnia of the Lakes - Hardest boss: Alecto the Black Knife Ringleader Altus Plateau - Hardest boss: Fallingstar Beast Equipment: Blood Zweihander +22 Cold Uchigatana +25 Blood Antspur Rapier +23 Frozen Needle +10 Great Stars +22 Lords defeated: Godrick the Grafted Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Starscourge Radahn Morgott the Omen King Rennala Queen of the Moon WHAT'S NEXT? - Time for Fire Giant -> Godskin Duo, THEN I can upgrade everything I want to tackle the rest of the stupid maps! Gotta make a backup save first, for good measure Edited July 31, 2022 by Copanele
Popular Post Copanele
The Foul Tarnished Experience - an Elden Ring story Part 6 - Mistakes were made After cleaning up most of the "southern and central area" of the game, I decided to brace myself and go after the main unskippable boss, Fire Giant. It's funny how they created this boss - out of all the crazy regal names "Godrick the Grafted", "Rennala Queen of the Moon" "Starscourge Radahn", now you are facing...Fire Giant, lord of the Fire Giants. Oh well, he has to die so... In terms of fighting the boss...he kinda sucks not gonna lie. Design wise, the Fire Giant is an imposing and well built boss, with lots of attacks and unique animations (and a sick transition phase). When you actually fight him however - hack the leg, dodge all the bullshit that will easily one shot you since he's the size of Eiffel Tower, hack the leg, get him on his ass, hack the leg. It took me a lot of tries because of the random firestorm summons and meteor bullshit, but eventually he died because he is VERY weak to bleed. Honestly, I had to rewatch the video because I had no memory of this fight at the moment of posting this. I will post the video but believe me, it's just 7 minutes of me Bloodhound Stepping and hacking a leg. Now, by defeating the boss and setting the tree on fire, I reached Farum Azula, a beautiful area populated by dragons and ...zombie dog-people... which is constantly crumbling and is plagued by strong winds and tornadoes. The reason why I reached this area is because it contains a Smithing Stone bell (4), this particular item would allow me to buy upgrade materials and upgrade anything I want up to +24. Since the material required for +25 is found pretty much anywhere, it was the best course of action in order to tackle the rest of the game. Biggest problem - a boss has this item. The worst boss in Elden Ring. The Godskin Duo. Fromsoftware has tried to replicate the amazing Ornstein&Smough duo fight from Dark Souls 1, to various degrees of success. I believe that fight is the equivalent of "lightning in a bottle", because my god no matter how they tried, no other Souls game managed to encapsulate that particular feeling of facing a super fast but rather weak opponent and a slow but insanely powerful monster. The closest they've been to this might have been the Demon Prince fight from Ringed City (DS3). Well, if O&S was the best duo fight, Godskin Duo is the worst duo fight in all Fromsoft games. Scratch that, it's one of the worst boss fights in general, just a little bit better than Bed of Chaos. In this fight, you face a Godskin Apostle and a Godskin Noble. You do face these bosses individually throughout the game, and they are overall a good fight, paired with the best soundtrack in the game. Alone they work amazingly, TOGETHER however they're the worst matchup ever. To cover this in the fewest words possible: The Godskin Apostle is the slim yet slow variant, who just sits back and constantly throws black fireballs that have insane tracking. When phase 2 activates, he can cover the entire arena with fire and slither to your location instantly. The Godskin Noble is the fat yet incredibly fast variant, who has a huge rapier that can do quick thrusts. Of course he can throw fireballs as well. When phase 2 activates, he rolls towards you until he either hits you (one shotting you) or stops into a wall after rolling for 30 seconds. He also can do an instant area of effect explosion that has to be predicted, you can't react to it. If you heal, they both automatically throw fireballs at you, they can read your inputs. If one Godskin dies, the other will revive it with full health If both Godskins die, you will have to wait for 20 seconds like a moron until one of them spams with full health. In order to defeat this boss, you have to hack away at their health until the huge health bar at the bottom of the screen depletes. This fight is abysmal even with a summon or co-op partner and with a fully upgraded character, let alone with a schmuck at rune level 1 who doesn't want to summon (aka me). Fighting them head on was a no-go (it would have taken me too many attempts), so I had to resort to ... a bit of "cheesing", if you could consider that a cheese. I consider it extensive game knowledge but anyway. The only major weakness of the Godskin enemies is the Sleep status. If you put them into sleep status, they will be incapacitated for a full 2 to 3 minutes, until you hit them. This trivializes the fight, turning these turds into probably some of the easiest bosses to defeat in the game. Basically the main tactic: Craft a butt ton of sleep arrows and grab a fully upgraded bow (more damage = status effect builds faster) Put the Noble to sleep - he s the more annoying one Put the Apostle to sleep - careful, he loves to dodge your arrows Powerstance two bleed rapiers and HACK AWAY until he dies - he has low health and will die by the time he wakes up Hack away at the noble but be careful, he has a ton of health Hide behind a pillar and shoot him while he rolls, putting him to sleep again Hack away and kill noble Wait for Apostle to respawn, sleep, hack, win. Is it cheap? Yes. Do I care? Hell to the NO! Bell grabbed, victory claimed, upgrade ensured. After defeating the Godskin Duo, I went back to cleaning the entire map before following the main quest. And here is where I was struck with one Elden Ring issue - so many reused bosses, Jesus! I have to remind, there's 167 bosses in total and...probably 30 are unique? I don't know! The rest of the bosses are reused, reskinned, recycled and boring as heck. I went from Caelid to Mountaintops to Snowfield and cleaned up every dungeon and cave and tomb and tree trunk that I could find. Out of all of them, probably the worst were the Crucible Knight Duo , that have the same stupid premise like the Godskin Duo except they have no weakness. Parrying works wonder on them however Other than that, at some point I got legit tired so I resorted to cheesing most of them. The funniest bosses were Death Rite Birds, who despite being more dangerous than the final boss of the game, are so easily beaten by the terrain that it's not even funny imagine that this is how I dealt with all of them. In the end, every single garbage boss has fallen, so I resumed my fight with the main chungus. Unfortunately for me, for some reason I decided to tackle the Haligtree first, to get rid of the hardest boss in the game, Malenia Blade of Miquella. Reaching the boss was pretty easy (minus Loretta, which took a few tries). However Malenia....oh sweet Malenia... Want to know how this boss works? At the moment of writing this, I have over 300 deaths and counting at Malenia... That's why I said "Mistakes were made". Final score: Bosses defeated: 160/167 Areas completed: Limgrave - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Weeping Peninsula - Hardest boss: Ancient Hero of Zamor Siofra River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier Nokron Eternal City - Hardest boss: Valiant Gargoyles Deeproot Depths - Hardest boss: Fia's Champions Lake of Rot - Hardest boss: Astel Naturalborn of the Void Ainsel River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella Liurnia of the Lakes - Hardest boss: Alecto the Black Knife Ringleader Altus Plateau - Hardest boss: Fallingstar Beast Leyndell - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Duo Mount Gelmir - Hardest boss: Rykard Mountaintops of the Giant - Hardest boss: Fire Giant Caelid - Hardest boss: Starscourge Radahn Consecrated Snowfield - Hardest boss: Astel Stars of Darkness Equipment: Blood Zweihander +25 Cold Uchigatana +25 Blood Antspur Rapier +25 Frozen Needle +10 Some random greatswords +25 Lords defeated: Godrick the Grafted Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Starscourge Radahn Morgott the Omen King Rennala Queen of the Moon What's next? Either Malenia or AC Valhalla DLC, I don't know which one will get to me first

Normally if the boss falls off one pebble, he'll insta die. Knees weak as hell As for the birds... here's another one. This was a double KO, but it counted! I don't know what the hell were they thinking, but Malenia breaks every single rule in Elden Ring. Regardless, I managed to more or less perfect her first phase. However her second phase...god have mercy because I have no idea what's happening anymore. She is so random that it's not even fun anymore. And since Fromsoft nerfed Bloodhound Step and every bleed build with their latest patch... I'm in for a world of hurt ?

Desperate times call for desperate measures ?. This reminds me of a speedrunning strat. I believe it's called "death warp". You die at a certain spot so that you can spawn at a later checkpoint instead of going all the way to it. Nice to see other uses for killing yourself in a game ?. 1 hour ago, Copanele said: So, this boss... is insane. Well, at least in the RL1 run, you don't live long enough to see her gain all her health back after taking a few hits in a row, so that's one positive, ...right? ?
