You can complete them, no more stupid suicide missions. The problem is how the AI and the entire game behaves, whether it's the main game. Basically the enemies get stuck into walls, detect you from a mile away, the game slows down (I am on a PS4 however so it might be from my side), Eivor can't climb stuff to save his life, and so on. It's basically a string of annoyances that prevent me from enjoying this game. I will have to admit however, Forgotten Saga might be the best AC Valhalla DLC. There IS some challenge and thinking involved this time around. I might not crap on it this time

Oh well, he has to die so... This part had me cracking up!! Seriously tho, they couldn't come up with... ANYTHING FFS??! Here, how about this: Ifrit the Immolater? See, not the best but still way better than bum-ass Fire Giant ? That dude was a total chode, even with my well-leveled up Astrologer, he took me more tries than I'd care to admit ? I will just once again say how amazed I am to see you do this Copanele ? Most impressive watching you rip these bosses to shreds! That fucking Godskin Duo... Holy shit man, I was prob a level 100 Astrologer and it took me 100 tries to get them. I had no clue about the sleep strat which is genius!! I was also weak to watch that bird just plummet to his death... Funny how you only took 1/3 health loss but he lost... What was it, like 17k hit points??! Bahaha you clever man, you!! I saw that there was some lore implication, that Queen Marika loathed giants so much that she wanted them wiped out from the history, that's why you have only "Fire Giant" instead of Big Cheese the Spicy King or something. Doesn't excuse the fact that the boss itself kinda sucks As for the others...honestly Elden Ring finally made me go "screw melee only mode, let's use all the tools in our arsenal", gravity included. My first Godskin Duo playthrough was mad brutal, took me a lot of retries, that's such a cheap boss! Eventually I just summoned my OG Mimic Tear and finally did it. If it wasn't for the sleep arrows...I would be still stuck at this boss probably. 16 hours ago, Joe Dubz said: Keep em coming man... I will be very much looking forward to seeing your victory video against Malenia... And the Elden Beast... Fuck that giant coward who won't stay still to get his ass served up proper! Many thanks. Right now I have like 1 week of grinding against Malenia. It's either me being tired or the boss being a piece of shit because MY GOD every time I come close she pulls out another bullshit attack out of her ass. Right now my main roadblock is her 2nd phase clone attack...NO IDEA HOW TO DODGE THAT. It's absolutely bonkers, I might actually need to go naked light roll because holy crap she catches me every single time. Definitely my least favorite "fanservice" boss in the series But once I get her down, it should be "a bit" easier. I still dread racing after Elden Beast though. But until then, I can finally write here about something else other than Elden Ring. Assassin's Creed Valhalla - The Forgotten Saga DLC Hardest Trophy - Pure of Heart Defeat Nidhogg without using an Elk Shrine (no healing) Difficulty - 5/10 When I first heard that AC Valhalla would add a "roguelike" DLC, my very first though was "REALLY UBISOFT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You really would go so low as to copy the latest trend?". I expected buggy stuff, lost progression, you know...the classic Ubisoft quality. However I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this DLC ain't so bad! Sure, it's part of AC Valhalla, means you're gonna have the janky combat and dumb AI, buuuuuuuut surprisingly I had a lot of fun time going in this new mode. In Forgotten Saga, our dear viking Eivor goes again in dreamy mode as Havi, as he struggles to traverse Helheim and reach the final boss. In order to do that, he has to tackle and complete 4 realms: Kalstad, a Jotun infested snow-land, Dokkerland, a forest with...random lava pools and fire cauldrons(weird?), Nidheim, a swamp that reminds me of Blighttown and Helheim itself which is ... a series of random rooms. Not the most interesting locations but the DLC itself is pretty small anyway. At the start of every run, Havi's gear is randomized, him being able to tackle various paths within each realm in order to upgrade his gear, health, abilities and so on. At the end of each run (either via winning or...well..dying), you're awarded a special currency called Memory, which is used to upgrade an ability tree and to buy various talismans that will help you with the next run. I was impressed to see that unlike everything else in the game, this DLC is actually challenging. I challenged the enemies head-on, just to discover that I am not in the main game anymore via a hammer to my head. The enemies hit fast and hit hard and you really need to be on your toes and actually focus on getting good gear. Every enemy is also weak to one element (fire, ice, lightning, poison), so it's best to have at least 2 types of elemental damage incorporated in your build. The DLC can be easily broken however, if you focus on shock damage together with the explosive arrow ability, since no enemy is resistant to shock damage and the explosive arrow makes short work out of the bosses. The story and why Havi is doing what he's doing is...well, pretty crap, but at this point I am pretty used to it. I did enjoy the twist at the end however. My main feeling is that the devs of this DLC actually had fun developing Forgotten Saga, so I'd say this DLC is worth an investment (especially since it's free ) But seriously though, they should stop releasing so many DLC and move on already. Just give me the final Eivor Epilogue and be done with it! THE GOOD: - somehow Ubisoft managed to make a decent roguelike - the randomizer factor is working properly - you can easily break the game as soon as you have Mjolnir and the Incendiary Pouch ability THE BAD: - the AI still loves to get stuck in walls and skip animations when attacking you - game's just as clunky - can I get rid of Havi and play as Eivor already?
Popular Post Copanele
@Joe Dubz the deed was done and the hardest boss has fallen. Warning, STORY SPOILERS regarding 2 of the end-game bosses. If you want to avoid Elden Ring stuff, now's the chance. The Foul Tarnished Experience - an Elden Ring story Part 7 - It's all in the blood Ever since the release of Demon Souls, there's another trope that was developed in the Souls games, together with Moonlight Greatsword and filthy Patches - the tragic overpowered humanoid boss opponent. Out of all the bosses, the most memorable and the ones that give the most headaches (with minor exceptions) are always the "sole warrior with an awful past, a sick weapon and a truckload of damage". Sure, experiences may vary, but off the top of my head these are the bosses that kinda check all the requirements: Demon's Souls - False King Allant Dark Souls - Knight Artorias Dark Souls 2 - either Fume Knight or Sir Alonne, both of them are brutal Bloodborne - we will pick Lady Maria since she is way more memorable than Shrimp Boy Dark Souls 3 - none other than Lady Friede Sekiro - Sword Saint Isshin I could say that Fromsoftware and Miyazaki love their classic 1vs1 battles, where the opponent is so damn strong and demands such skills that you wonder how would you ever get past that roadblock. This also is true with Elden Ring, where Fromsoftware created probably the most evil and powerful bosses in all the company's history - Malenia Blade of Miquella. Who is Malenia, you may ask? Well, she is a Demigod, one of the twins born from Radagon and Marika. She and her brother Miquella were each born with a curse. While Miquella was cursed to be forever trapped in the body of a child (he never ages), Malenia's fate was way worse. She was afflicted with the Scarlet Rot since the beginning, a type of poison that rapidly erodes everything. The Rot is so devastating that it turned the entirety of Caelid into a poisoned wasteland. Despite that, Malenia was at the time of the game the most proficient swordsmaster in all Lands In-Between. The only one who could stop her was Starscourge Radahn, where she had to resort to her Scarlet Rot to defeat him, thus driving him mad and throwing his entire land into chaos. Since that battle severely weakened her, she has fallen into a slumber and was put to rest near the Haligtree, while her brother Miquella went to slumber himself in order to find a cure to both their afflictions. Yeah it doesn't make much sense, but there has to be a symbolism there that I've missed. Anyway why this long intro? Well, just to focus on how absolutely batshit overpowered Malenia is. Miyazaki's aim in this game is to make you feel that you are actually fighting demigods here, and not some chumps with a large health bar and worthless titles. These bosses are not to be fucked with, you have to come in prepared, with all your homework done and all your buddies, items, potions, spirit ashes, nukes and whatnot. You would definitely not want to go into the Haligtree for a stroll, especially at Rune Level 1 with an allergy to spells and summoning of any kind. Unfortunately, this is what I did. And it was pure pain. 8 days of pain. It was stated before that Elden Ring is both the easiest and the hardest game in the franchise, which is absolutely correct. If you were to play with all the tools at your disposal, you could completely obliterate this game. There's so many ways to own these bosses, it could easily turn into a walking simulator. At this point in the game you could beat every boss with Spirit Ashes alone, you just occasionally popping a healing spell, a freeze bomb or a dodge in case the boss wants to brawl with you for a second. However, if you were to go without any outside help and no magic related attacks, just you, your sword and your reflexes, this game is pure hell. And it's pure hell by design, because like in no other Fromsoft game, this game WAS INTENDED WITH CO-OP IN MIND. Demigods are demigods, a dragon WILL flat your ass regardless of your level, FIRE BURNS, gravity works etc.etc. The game is as hard as you want it to be. Except Sekiro, I've managed to defeat every game at the base level. Soul Level 1 for Souls games and Blood Level 4 for Bloodborne. Before this game, the hardest game for me was Bloodborne, mainly Pthumerian Descendant in Pthumeru Ihyll Dungeon. That boss was the bane of my existence and I hated it with passion. Well that boss was dethroned because Malenia is oficially the hardest boss to defeat at the base Rune Level 1. Holy crap the insanity was off the charts with her and the best way to show it is to describe the boss fight itself. Malenia has a wide array of moves, slashes, charges, grabs and kicks that feel more like Sekiro than Elden Ring. All of her attacks can easily one shot you, if by any chance you don't die, you get staggered enough so that she can follow up with another attack (THAT will kill you). Spamming attacks on her won't work, she can deflect your 3rd or 4th attack and back off, putting distance just so she can load up another one of her filthy attacks. What's worse, when SHE attacks, she has hyper armor, meaning that she cannot be staggered by anything until she finishes her attack. Basically Malenia is a "fuck them rules, I do what I want" kind of boss. Another small addition is that every hit she lands will heal her. And I really mean ANY HIT! Did you block her attack? Did she hit your summon? Doesn't matter, she will heal PER HIT! Even during your death animation she can heal, adding insult to injury Her most dangerous attack however is her infamous Waterfowl Dance, where she jumps in the air and starts spinning and slashing around, tracking you and dealing absurd amounts of damage. Trying to outrun it is impossible, you have to dodge through a certain segment of the attack, else you will die instantly. The awful part is that you have to anticipate this attack, because if it catches you off-guard...you're dead, plain and simple. This attack took me a good 20 deaths before I learned how to dodge it properly, or cancel it even. And that's only the first phase... PHASE 2 is where shit starts going WILD! If you could somewhat "bait" Malenia in doing certain attacks...forget it. In Phase 2 Malenia almost becomes a goddess and it shows--she will do ANY move from ANY position regardless of what she was previously doing. Baiting won't work, she will constantly run after you and you have to pray to God that she won't pull one bullshit attack after the other. I had instances where she did a Waterfowl followed by another Waterfowl followed by a Clone attack. There's no rhyme or reason to her strings of attacks, this boss is purely reaction based. Oh, and almost half of her attacks how have a Scarlet Rot Area of Effect. If you are too close, even if you aren't next to Malenia, you die via Tuberculosis. Plain and simple. How to defeat this boss? I was stumped for a good number of hours. Zweihander wasn't effective, that shit was too slow and Malenia whacked me instantly. Rapiers? Nah, if I did 2 more hits she would deflect my attack. Parry? I needed to parry her 3 times in a row in order to open her up for a riposte. Uchigatana? That crap was too weak to even be considered. Note: I know people defeated her naked with a wooden club. I am not that proficient + I wanted to do it my way...sort of Ultimately, after some extra grinding, drawing charts, calculating velocities and such, I ended up with the following loadout: 2xBlood Greatswords, powerstanced. Right hand greatsword has Bloodhound Step attached to it Pulley Crossbow with Burred Bolts, that cause bleed Stacks over stacks of damage and jump attack damage Freeze Grenade, for staggering/extra damage Fire Grenade, to cancel out Freeze, not used in the fight Stacks of Knives, for baiting Phase 1 - Malenia Blade of Miquella Start the fight by throwing a knife at Malenia while she is mid-distance, she will dodge and dash into you trying to kick you. Intercept that dash, jump L1 to crash on her with the powerstanced swords then Bloodhound Step (BHS) back. If she does an upward followed by a downward slam, you can jump L1 her. If she does a thrust attack, BHS sideways and press L1 to thrust her with your swords If she does 2 slashes and lingers, she will do a dash towards you, so intercept that with jump L1 If she does 2 slashes be on your guard, she will attack you with a zigzag slash (showed by sparks), followed by a sweep. If it 's a short sweep, be on your guard, if it's a long winded sweep, that one can be punished by a Jump L1 If she pulls her hand backwards BE CAREFUL that's a grab. Time your dodge and don't try to punish. At 2/3 of her health, stop using the knives to bait her, she will be able to use her Waterfowl Dance. The moment you see her jump start running like hell! The most effective way to dodge the Waterfowl Dance (needs practice) Do a BHS when she lands during her first spin Roll/BHS INTO her during her second spin Stand still and roll backwards while Malenia goes around you with her third spin. You will need practice to avoid that stupid attack. No idea how to dodge it point blank. Freeze Bombs kick her out of Waterfowl, but they must be thrown the moment she jumps AND she has to be defrosted. Phase 2 - Malenia Goddess of Rot She will always start her phase with a Rot bomb. Unlock the camera, run forward to a safe distance, switch to your crossbow and pelt her with 3-4 sets of blood bolts. Switch back to your greatsword All of her phase 1 moves except Waterfowl can be cancelled into a jump then slam into a vertical Rot geyzer. Be VERY careful, none of her moves are safe to punish anymore. She will nonstop chase you, so knives are obsolete. Waterfowl Attack can be detected by her doing a massive spin with her wings. She gets a new move CLONE ATTACK which is her most dangerous move. Malenia jumps in the air and spams clones that attack you, followed by her crashing into you. The clones have 6 attacks in total. The best strategy is to run away from Malenia and be careful that you dodge attack 6 only. If you run away, all of the other attacks will miss you. The end result is the video below. My performance was incredibly sloppy, I know, but you have to understand that this boss is REALLY THAT HARD! With this accomplishment I managed to erase my personal shame of defeating this boss with a spirit ash the first time around. I fully support other players to use any tool at their disposal, however I personally always play these games summon-free. With my RL1 I finally managed to master the Blade of Miquella. With Malenia defeated, I prepared to face her brother Miquella...only to see that he is missing. (how unexpected) And thus, we go to the next boss on our post - Mohg Lord of Blood Mohgwyn Palace is probably the weirdest area in Elden Ring. You reach this area by defeating a random Blood Noble invader in Consecrated Snowfield OR by completing Varre's convoluted quest of invading other players. Either way, a portal opens to this place, which is...probably the most unfair place in the entire game. Everything causes bleed, everything will one shot you and pretty much every single pebble, corner, root or rock will cause you bleed and kill you. This is a very brutal place that also counts as the best farming spot for runes and unlimited level ups. Its boss however... At one point I found Mohg The Omen in the Capital Sewers. He was a brutal boss, but it turns out he was just an illusion. The real deal is here and it's shown why. Mohg ran away from his prison, leaving his illusion behind, and moved to this godforsaken place. His plan is to start a dynasty of his own, by -- and I hope you are seated here -- marrying Miquella and joining him into a literal blood reunion. For that, he stole the egg where Miquella was resting and started feeding it with Blood from an outer God. That's ... one way to start a family. Compared to his illusion, this boss has actual weaknesses. Firstly, the title of Lord of Blood is self-proclaimed, since his actual weakness are bleed weapons. I really expected Mohg to be immune to bleed, turns out he's the weakest to it for some reason. That doesn't mean he can't inflict absurd amounts of bleed buildup by himself. His first phase was very straightforward, however his second phase is straight out unfair. First of all if you don't have the Blood Tear that will protect you from his Nihil attack, don't even think you can survive at RL1. Second, all of his attacks leave a trail of blood flame on the ground, so even if you dodge his attacks, chances are that you'll die from the bleed build up from all of his nasty spit. Mohg was one infuriating boss, so I had to use a ...special item, called Mohg's Shackle, which will chain him to the ground for a short amount of time in phase 1. My super convoluted plan also involved 4 rapiers, because I love to be that extra : I fought his first phase with 2 ice rapiers, since they are super fast and can recover quickly, just in time to dodge his delayed windups Once he reaches 50%, I use Mohg shackle I switch to the 2 blood rapiers and start hacking as fast as possible. By the time he finishes his Nihil phase 2 transition he has barely 10% left I finish him off since at that health he doesn't have time to spread his stupid shit around. Unlike Malenia, Mohg wasn't as much of a threat, so he fell pretty fast. Final score: Bosses defeated: 162/167 Areas completed: Limgrave - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Weeping Peninsula - Hardest boss: Ancient Hero of Zamor Siofra River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier Nokron Eternal City - Hardest boss: Valiant Gargoyles Deeproot Depths - Hardest boss: Fia's Champions Lake of Rot - Hardest boss: Astel Naturalborn of the Void Ainsel River - Hardest boss: Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella Liurnia of the Lakes - Hardest boss: Alecto the Black Knife Ringleader Altus Plateau - Hardest boss: Fallingstar Beast Leyndell - Hardest boss: Crucible Knight Duo Mount Gelmir - Hardest boss: Rykard Mountaintops of the Giant - Hardest boss: Fire Giant Caelid - Hardest boss: Starscourge Radahn Consecrated Snowfield - Hardest boss: Astel Stars of Darkness Equipment: Blood Zweihander +25 Cold Uchigatana +25 Blood Antspur Rapier +25 Frozen Needle +10 Some random greatswords +25 Lords defeated: Godrick the Grafted Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Starscourge Radahn Morgott the Omen King Rennala Queen of the Moon Malenia Blade of Miquella Mohg Lord of Blood What's next? The final bosses, in order: Placidusax, Maliketh, Gideon Offnir, Hoarah Loux and Radagon/EB. Can I just take a quick moment to appreciate your notes here?? That is some true dedication right there, mapping out the keys to victory! Gonna keep this one in my back pocket for when I eventually take the plunge again... I have yet to even try Malenia! ? Do I remember reading that she also regens health when you get hit? I guess that's kind of irrelevant when you pull off a near-flawless victory ? I'm just wondering where you got all this info about her and the other bosses? I guess maybe it's just lore spread throughout the game? I tried to check out as much stuff as I came across, but don't remember reading things as in depth as you've laid them out... You should make like a character/boss bio with all this very interesting lore! Absolutely stupendous @Copanele ? Looking forward to your next update at the finish line!

AihaLoveleaf
Nice to hear your feedback on the roguelite DLC that was added to Valhalla. It's about time a Valhalla DLC is actually good, considering the massive jank you had to deal with during the past few updates. The gameplay you described does sound interesting, but not interesting enough for me to do another 200 hour Ubisoft game, lol. I'll stick to experiencing Valhalla though the good ol' Copinator. ?

Not sure how many releases this game had but oh well. Same good ol' KoF, now with rollback netcode! Grinding for 100 wins was abit of a headache but other than that everything was trivial to achieve, given that you can set your character to have MAX gauge at all time and Orochi is a broken menace of a character. This game is worth an investment only if you are into King of Fighters and SNK games in general. Hope they will remaster KoF XIII already... Heck, give me a PORT, fix the damn online a bit and I would not complain at all. With their KoFXV success, maybe SNK will bless us I want my glorious team of NESTS Kyo, Terry and Mai (for obvious reasons :> ) May Kim's Pants lead us to victory! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ahem....updates. Right. Got a Platinum. No. 190 - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PS4) Platinum Name - Thou Art I Hardest Trophy - Cleanup Grand Slam - Hit a home run with the bases loaded, full count and two outs in Arcade or Network Mode. Baseball rules have no reason to exist in a fighting game. Difficulty - 4/10 . Because of Persona 4 Arena. It was interesting to return to this game, after replaying the PS3 Ultimax version (original post here) and the infinitely more dreadful Persona 4 Arena game (original post here). I know I wasn't particularly impressed with Ultimax, but Arena made me love the games. So naturally, I was curious to see how it would feel to replay a game on easiest difficulty setting after defeating it on Ultra Hard mode The PS4 re-release features a new trophy list, rearranged roster (DLC characters are added in the main game) and rebalanced characters and modes. Margaret fans will be sad to hear that they can't piledrive the game anymore with their best girl. Unfortunately, because remastering a game is a difficult business apparently, the game has the bad habit of crashing constantly, so expect to restart the game a great deal of times. As usual, I have no idea what the story is about (SORRY I CAN'T PAY ATTENTION TO VISUAL NOVELS OK?). Instead, all I can talk is about the gameplay and trophies here. Gameplay is quite solid, having a huge roster to pick from. Almost every character has a Shadow variant which behaves differently aka having a completely different set of combos and attacks. Now, a curious thing, checking my previous posts, I did not enjoy P4AU gameplay that much, while having mad fun with P4A gameplay. I thought it might be due to accumulated experience, but replaying this game...P4AU really felt abit more..."stiff"...more limited than P4A where you could do some mad dumb shit. So maybe I wasn't wrong here if anyone else who played both versions experienced the same, let me know! Now, what exactly has changed in this version? Other than online (will cover that later), two main changes impacted the trophy list - Gold Arena Mode and Character rebalancing. Gold Arena mode is a series of "dungeons", each having a set amount of floors. Every 5 floors you fight a sub-boss, final floor is a gold superboss, reminding of Abyss Mode in Blazblue. After every fight you get experience points, being able to level up and improve your various stats. Every boss also drops items that will help you with your journey. What changed is the fact that now the floor numbers have doubled. If the first dungeon had 50 floors, now you have to complete 100 instead. 100 turned into 200 and the final dungeon has a whooping 400 floors. Doubling the grind hours is really a downside in my book, fortunately the devs added a "special" dungeon with only 50 floors which resets every day, changing the reward at the end. The slight issue would be the fact that every opponent in the dungeon is level 99... ...which wasn't an issue for my dear Labrys set on Auto Combat mode. Labrys is a powerhouse of a character and I used her to complete Gold Arena in the original PS3 version as well. Her best attack is Brutal Impact, where she charges her axe and delivers a devastating attack that could easily one shot opponents with the correct build. So just like before, I let Labrys do all the heavy work, me only having to increase the correct stats and get the good items. Character rebalancing severely changed the way combos work in this game, which also impacted the Finish all trials with one character trophy. Previously the easiest character to finish all trials with was Margaret. Her trials were so easy you could do her trials incredibly fast. But since she got a nerf in this game, her final "inflict x amounts of damage" combo became quite difficult. Instead, I opted for Shadow Labrys, since she was the easiest character to do trials with in Persona 4 Arena (you had to do all trials for all characters there). Shadow Labrys is an incredibly easy to use character, her trials are incredibly short and easy to memorize and her only gimmick, Titanomachia, is trivial once you understand how it works. The hardest trophy for me was Cleanup Grand Slam, where once again you have to use Junpei Iori and land a Home Run with all Balls, Bases and Outs filled. Junpei is a baseball themed character. I do not understand baseball at all, but basically all I had to do is having all the lights being colored in the SBO area below (not my screenshot btw) The problem is...I have NO IDEA what triggers a home run. I checked the guides. I've seen the videos. I am just as clueless as I was the first time I went for this stupid ass trophy. I fulfilled all conditions and still missed the home run 6 or 7 times. At one point it finally unlocked but...hell if I know how. Baseball is an obscure game to me as it is, adding it in a fighting game is just a headache with extra steps. Overall...this ain't the hardest fighting game around. I'd say it is worth an investment because it's pretty solid, but buy it only at a discount. Game still crashes like mad and the grind can be a bit off-putting. Oh and online is dead, despite it having rollback, so you'd better find a boosting partner. That's what you get for trying to revive old and dead games instead of working on Persona 5 Arena THE GOOD: game still looks crisp soundtrack is 10/10 as usual you can play it on PS4 now! you can be a chad once again as Yu Narukami DLC characters are now part of the main package THE BAD: game crashes a lot now rebalances just increased the grind time Gold Arena can get boring Online is deserted Recommendation - Blazblue Centralfiction While I was playing this game I was "damn, I'd play some Blazblue instead". So naturally...I'd recommend this one if you want an alternative. I dare to say that it's even a better fighting game than P4AU
Popular Post Copanele
No. 52 - Capcom Beat'em Up Bundle Hardest Trophy - There's no I in Beat'em Up play all titles with another player Difficulty - 2/10 One sunny day, while I was minding my business in Elden Ring, a wild @Yuber6969 corrupted me to buy and go for the online trophies in this bundle. I also never played a Capcom Beat'Em up and I always was curious to see where the origin story of Cody and Guy in Final Fight, so this was the perfect opportunity to play them. To be honest...I don't think I am a big fan of beat'em ups ? First of all, this collection contains 7 Capcom beat'em up classics. You have infinite lives thankfully, these games are normally so cheap even SNK shudders. The games in question are: Final Fight - Haggar's daughter has been kidnapped by the Mad Gear Gang and you have to save her. You can pick between 3 characters: Cody the brawler, Guy the ninja and Haggar the mayor wrestler. I picked Cody since he's my favorite character in Street Fighter (the only dude who actually does "street" fighting). Game was interesting but I must have died over 20-30 times. It's definitely a coin muncher. The King of Dragons - Probably my favorite, you can pick out one character out of the following: Warrior, mage, elf, paladin and dwarf. You can level up and find better items, goal is to defeat the dragon at the end. Straightforward, but it was actually mad fun. Captain Commando - I really disliked this one. I know Captain Commando is a staple in Capcom lore, but his game sucked ass. I don't even know what it was about. Knights of the Round - Similar to King of Dragons, you play as King Arthur, Lancelot or Percival and you have to defeat the evil knights and secure Camelot. Pretty ok. Warriors of Fate - the Japanese version of King of Dragons, this time you control 5 Japanese heroes. I was pretty done with the beat'em ups at this point so I just picked the archer grandpa and laid waste on the fools. Armored Warriors - You play as mecha here! This one was quite unique, since you could defeat enemies and pick up their weapons, like a primitive The Surge. This one wasn't too bad, but it was brutal. Battle Circuit - You have to retrieve a special disk from an evil overlord, all characters are Darkstalkers lookalike. I played as the bootleg green Felicia and it was pretty fun. You can also buy skills in this game, which was pretty unique for its time. As mentioned, you have infinite lives. It was a blessing since I was constantly surrounded by enemies who simply obliterated me. If I can appreciate something about this collection, it's that it's built for maximum enjoyment, aka you even have a built-in turbo button so you could spam attacks without mashing the buttons. Unfortunately, the only way I would recommend this collection is if you are a beat'em up fan or you want to have the entirety of Capcom catalogue under your belt. Otherwise...it's best if you skip this one. THE GOOD: You get the opportunity to relive the great Capcom classics You have unlimited lives, so there's no stress at all THE BAD: games are incredibly cheap even on easiest difficulty they're not really that fun if you aren't into beat'em ups Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele

She had a cameo in UMvC3 as an alternate skin for Felicia, so your "bootleg green Felicia" comparison is not too far off from the mark. xxD I'd so play with her...in the game, of course. ? I love the beat 'ems so the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle is an obligatory pick for me at some point. Funnily enough, Final Fight is the only game there I'm familiar with. Everything else there is going to be new for me. Highly looking forward to Battle Circuit for obvious reasons. The only big downside I see to the collection is the easy trophy list it has, as it doesn't challenge the player too much compared to other similar games out there with more demanding lists.

The only big downside I see to the collection is the easy trophy list it has, as it doesn't challenge the player too much compared to other similar games out there with more demanding lists. Ohhh no no no...believe me, in this particular instance, be happy that it's an easy list these games have not aged well in terms of cheapness... They're so devious, I bet you would have needed to make a bank loan in order to have enough quarters for even one of these games. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been on a roll lately. Took a break from Elden Ring, despite having only 4 more bosses to beat. I'd rather take a break than have a major burnout Cuphead DLC - Delicious Last Course Hardest Trophy - Ranger defeat all DLC bosses with A rank or higher Difficulty - 8/10 D(elicious) L(ast) C(ourse) is the latest addition to the masterpiece that is Cuphead. As usual, heavily inspired from the 1920s-1930s cartoons, this DLC offers a new map, new bosses, weapons and more. Out of all, the best addition is the playable character Ms Chalice. With a special charm, you can play as her instead of the classic Cuphead/Mugman. Ms Chalice is a force to be reckoned with, being able to dash through the pink projectiles (compared to Cuphead's jump attack), dash mid air, double jump and invincibility roll. What's more, she gets one extra health bar. Paired with the overpowered new weapons (Crackshot for instance, which is a homing attack that doesn't have the disadvantages of the main game weapons), Ms Chalice is the perfect pick if you ever get stuck on a boss. Even if you get a massive advantage, it doesn't mean that the new bosses are easy. All of them are tough as nails, yet unique and fun in their own way. They are definitely harder than the main game bosses and require way more reflexes to be defeated. Together with the bosses, you unlock a special gauntlet, where the king of a chess board asks you to defeat the other pieces. You can't use anything but parries to defeat them, which adds a new fun way of approaching bosses. This DLC also adds an interesting new talisman, a "cursed relic" which will activate once you defeat a hidden boss. The relic reduces your life to 1 and randomizes your weapons. In order to purify the relic, you will have to defeat between 8 and 10 bosses. The purified relic is a very powerful charm that will grant you all of the other charms at the same time and increased firepower (but with the randomizing mode stil in effect). However, to be completely honest...I raged at this DLC As fun as the game is, the new bosses are so cheap it really started to not be fun at one point. Even with Ms Chalice, which is supposed to be broken, the bosses handed my ass to me so many times that I had to take breaks. Now, I am not a genius bullet hell player (i am quite bad at them actually), so maybe that was the reason why I struggled so much. But in the end, even with my "fuck this shit" tendencies, I still will say that this is an absolutely fantastic DLC. It's at the same quality as the main game and if you enjoyed Cuphead, there's no reason to wait, just pick this up. I avoided talking about the exact bosses just so I won't spoil anything. Just...don't play it if you are stressed or angry it won't be good for your controller! THE GOOD: peak Cuphead quality bosses are incredibly unique and charming Ms Chalice is broken new weapons are mad fun to use final boss has the quality value of an entire old Disney cartoon lots of references to other games THE BAD: if bullet hells ain't your thing, it will kick your ass Recommendation: Hades Bit of an odd recommendation, but I don't play bullet hells with amazing graphics. So...in terms of quality, this is the next best thing, even if the gameplay has nothing to do with Cuphead.
Popular Post Copanele
191 - Tekken 6 Platinum Name - Tekken Fanatic Hardest Trophy - Survival of the Fittest Hardest ACTUAL achievement - winning a match online against @PooPooBlast, @FreshFromThaDeli and @Yuber6969 (this was way more fun than the entire platinum lol) Difficulty - 3/10 As many other "old" fighting games, I stumbled across this one in an used products store. Since my Tekken knowledge is almost non-existent (and since everyone played this one apparently), of course I had to give it a go in the glorious year 2022 I have heard mixed reviews about Tekken 6. Some said it was an amazing game, some said it was a piece of trash that ruined the lore. That doubled my curiosity with the game, especially since my only experience with the series is Tekken 7 which was a game that I enjoyed but haven't played that much. Thankfully in the end, it was a decent enough game. First of all I went to online (PS3, servers are gonna die sooner than later, the usual). My character of choice initially was Asuka, because...honestly because she looks mighty fine that's it, no other reason. This time however I also wanted to LEARN the game (and not just pick Akuma like a cheater and just play more Street Fighter, as I did in Tekken 7), therefore I had to summon my friends for this one First one was @PooPooBlast because he knows how these games work. After many matches, I got these impressions: shit, you really need to know the matchup more than any other game HOW TF DO YOU BLOCK PAUL'S MEGA FIST OF FISTING Asuka is cute, but I am a scrub, so I picked Kazuya This was pre-Strive connectivity, so randomly the connection would take a swan dive into the abyss, disconnecting us. It's hard to focus on actual match when you are having this much fun Suffice to say, after tons of losses and lots of "ha let me show you what this Panda can do" moments, I was satisfied - the online experience was awesome and this game was promising to be good. So I started to slowly and confidently grind for the trophies and the platinum. And ignore the story, cause it was about Lars and Alissa and I really did not care ok? The problem is...the main story mode...is not a fighting game. It's a beat'em up. And that's where the experience sours a bit. Basically, for more than 2/3 of the trophies, you have to complete Scenario Mode missions. In this scenario mode, you pick up a character, go on a map and start a sort of beat'em up minigame against various grunts, ending with a boss fight, this boss being one of the character rosters. You get items, you get money, you get healing potions and points, just like the most barebones RPG game. At the end of the mission you can customize your character, equipping it with items that you collected on your road and improving its attributes. You can do that to your AI companion too (default Alissa, or Lars if you play AS Alissa). The levels get more and more difficult, with more enemies and bosses as you progress. In itself, the Scenario Mode is not particularly bad. But it has the same problem as Granblue Fantasy Versus had for me - beat'em ups as story mode for fighting games bore the hell out of me. Not to mention that you actually have to grind for a ton of stuff (200 treasure chests is quite a lot, you know). Thankfully the mode wasn't particularly difficult, and even the hardest Nightmare Train level was trivialized once I decided to go for the treasure chests first and equip my characters with some absurd damage and defense equipment. But, the thing is...I started to dislike the game at this point. I know that some loved this aspect of the game, but I would prefer beat'em up segments in actual beat'em up games. In a fighting game, I want arcade ladders, survival modes, creative stuff that links to combos actually. Arcade Mode didn't improve my experience and Survival Mode was trashing me because of my mood, so I decided to summon another friend @FreshFromThaDeli to play online and actually FEEL the game. This time I was focused on learning, understanding the basic rules of the game (NO JUMPING!) and some combos, the minimum requirements. No way was I gonna learn the matchups, this game has a huge roster, best I could do was to learn the basic neutral game and MAYBE get some sidestepping beaten into me Fortunately after a lot more matches, I had regained my confidence and interest in the game. Yeah I still lost like there was no tomorrow, but hey the experience is all that counted. Therefore I recovered my mood for the game, pulverized the Survival Mode (shit, it's actually easy when you feel like playing) and got the rest of the trophies and the platinum. However the journey was not over. I had one postponed match with @Yuber6969 who was threatening me with his HankBryan character. We really try to match up in various fighting games, but timezone be damned and boy oh boy, was it the perfect way to finish this game! Yeah I still lost (because he knows how to play this game), BUT AT LEAST THIS TIME I haven't pressed buttons with my forehead like before. If another Tekken gets launched at least I will know the bare minimum. So...is Tekken 6 worth it? Mmmm....if you find it somewhere cheap and have some friends available to have matches with, yeah it's worth an investment. But if you don't really care about the franchise or fighting games, I think you can skip this one. Tekken 7 is vastly superior and way more accessible (and way more populated lol). Again, a big thanks to the lads who had time to play some matches with me and help me improve I owe you one! THE GOOD: Huge roster Can be very fun with friends Easy platinum THE BAD: Scenario Mode is annoying The game in itself is outdated Recommendation - Tekken 7 Bigger, better, more populated, it's on PS4
DrBloodmoney
Nice work m'dude - Tekken 6, my first ever platinum! Totally know what you mean about it being bizarre that so many of the trophies are for things that have little if anything to do with the core game - it really is strange. I suspect it's more to do with the time the game game out, than anything else - given how early the game was in the "trophy era" I wonder if the devs were still hesitant about what trophies would actually do to online games with communities? Maybe there was a bit of "oh, trophies, you say? And we need to include them now?...Weird... what will we do with these strange things? Well... we don't want to attach too many to our REAL game, because maybe they'll just be a nothing burger, and no one will care, and we don't want to mess with the meta.... I KNOW! We'll add them all to this sill side mode no one is ever supposed to play for longer than it takes to go "well, this is odd", then never go back!" Mmm, I will need a Tekken historian here, because from what I've heard Tekken is no stranger to silly modes. However here I believe the trophies linked to Scenario Mode were correct~ the trophy list is quite standard. My issue is with the mode itself to be honest, because Scenario Mode IS the main story mode that is intended to play first. But again, I need a Tekken connoisseur to confirm this to me What I would have preferred is the Blazblue "Abyss mode" approach. Sure, insert items, healing stuff, levelling up, but keep it fighting related only WITH twists. One character inflicts fire with his punches. One flips the screen. One fight is versus many characters, and so on. Keep the core values of the game and go crazy in the details department.

That describes my experience with Tekken 6 too. I had fun with the story mode, but I can't say it was outstanding. Fighting x Beat 'Em Up sounds like an interesting mix until the flaws come up to the surface. For me, one of them was the targeting. My Nina would often target and attack the wrong guy, or the lock-on would stay on the neutralised enemy for 2 seconds too long. My favourite characters were Nina and Lili, both blond girls, even though I didn't go for the looks (I swear ?). I liked their moves. I often heard how Tekken always had great animations as far as 3D fighters go. And I can definitely see that in 6 too, with Lili's acrobatics in particular.
