Mass Effect 2

After I recovered, I started playing this epic of the last console generation. This is the part were I brag about currently having the 5th fastest 100% time on PSNP. My time was 2 days,1 hour and 1 minute. The list wasn't too difficult for me but a few trophies were a bit annoying.

I’ve tried to play this one on I’d say at least 5 separate occasions. Never did manage to stick with it. Good job on the quick completion time! Think it may be best if I start with the original ME and hope I can get into it. I’ve already bought the trilogy a while back.

Now that I think of it, I had the same issue with Bayonetta, which is also on your list. I ended up really enjoying my time with it in the end when I did finally commit to it.

After disconnecting myself from the internet to avoid Borderlands 3 spoilers, i'm back with an update:

Time for an update!

  1. Control 100%
  2. Wolfenstein Youngblood 0%
  3. Man of Medan 0%
  4. Yakuza 3 Remaster -  35%
  5. Borderlands 3 - 66%
  6. MediEvil 0%
  7. Concrete Genie 0%
  8. The Outer Worlds 0%
  9. Yakuza 4 Remaster 0%
  10. Death Stranding 0%
  11. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 0%

I'm loving the hell out of Borderlands 3 at the moment, just finished the main story and am moving into the first Vault Hunter mode (I'm guessing they will patch more in later). My main was Amara, specialised in the Brawler tree and so far i think they did an awesome job of creating a really viable melee character. Even moreso than Zer0 back in Borderlands 2.

I was debating whether to jump into BL3 for my challenge. I might do so but keep it off the challege since those games are old and I need to get to them. How long was the main story? I've already seen people with the plats so quickly so it seems the list is a lot more forgiving this time around

So far for me it's been a much easier journey to the plat compared to the previous games. The biggest plus for me personally is that there isn't a 'get rank one in all badass challenges' type of trophy. It's mainly exploration, side quest and main story progress related. There are a few combat related trophies. But all doable.

The game itself is huge, the people with the plat have more than likely been playing nonstop. I'm clocking in at about 50 hours - My playthrough included all points of interest, hammerlock hunts, Zer0 bounties and side missions which i did as i progressed to minimize backtracking. I still have the Circle of Slaughter and Proving Grounds to do for their trophies as well as the side missions trophy which they count towards.

There are some glitched trophies though by the looks of it, that or they aren't communicated properly. The trophy to read all Eridian slabs bugged out on me - i read them all but it never popped. Apparently the trophies around discovering named locations are also a bit unpredictable, though i dont know if they are actually bugged or just obscure points of interest that dont show as undiscovered places on the map.

Hm,

That's not bad, I would expect my playtime to be around the same. I get very sidetracked and tend to do all side things before progressing further. I've seen a bunch of posts and articles about some bugs and glitches, I might wait a tiny bit before I jump into it, let them push out a quick update first. My backlog challenge is pretty sure so I'm in no rush lol

Grand Kindgom (NEW): Well, decided give this game a go and do as much as I can before the servers shut down. That means I won't be playing any other game till then (most likely). And since I'm gonna start this game I might as well finish it too so I added it to my list.

Was thinking of playing that, but since I'll be a bit occupied before the servers shut, decided against it. Good luck and have fun!

Before-weekend update :

1. Devil May Cry (PS3) - 14% -> 54%

2. Devil May Cry 3 (PS3) - 1%

3. One Piece : Pirate Warriors 2 (PS3) - 11%

4. Brutal Legend (PS3) - 18%

5. Bayonetta (PS3) - 2%

6. Alice : Madness Returns (PS3) - 0% -> 3%

7. L.A. Noire (PS3) - 5%

8. Deadpool (PS3) - 11% -> 30%  -> 34%

9. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (PS3) - 5% -> 10%  -> 25% -> 57% -> 84%

10. J-Stars Victory VS+ ( PS3 NEW) - 22%

11. Demon's Souls (NA version PS3 ) - :platinum: 100%

Yee-Haw simulator almost complete. I am at chapter 11 out of 15 and honestly... the waltkthrough on Very Hard is quite easy so far. Should also help the fact that I played Call of Juarez religiously on PC before :P Ray is still a badass gunslinger and as long as you don't go rooty tooty shooty like in a DOOM game , the challenge is decent. The only cheap stuff are the dynamite tossing assholes that are random and can 1shot you .

With a bit of luck I will get the platinum today after work. It will be fun to pop 5 trophies at the same time !

After this beautiful game, mr 'Pool is next.

Wasn't gonna bother with it myself either but there's a chance the plat may become unobtainable so I didn't want to risk it. Luck? I'll need that for RNG, lots of it. Fun? The game is quite fun, I just thought my time gaming would be a bit more relaxed. Jumping into the game like this having to figure out the most efficient way in an already confusing system with limited time is not ideal. Thankfully the community here is very helpful and I do love learning (and maybe mastering) these kind of things.

SECOND UPDATE: I said I was going to update every two weeks but I need to make some changes to my list so I figured I would throw out another update. I didn't realize I never bought Pineview Drive when it was on sale so I'm going to use one of my three swaps and change it with Asemblance. I'm also going to make it EVEN HARDER on myself and add three more games to max it out at 50/50 games completed. Since my last update I completed 5 more games, making it 11/50, but I'm also down one because Blood & Truth just HAD to come out with some DLC right after I finished it. I'll get back to it after all the horror games.

1. Astro Bot: Rescue Mission - :platinum:

2. Vacation Simulator - :platinum:

3. Just in Time Inc. - :platinum:

4. Blood & Truth - :platinum: (95% thanks to DLC)

5. Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted - :platinum:

6. Intruders: Hide and Seek - :platinum:

7. The Exorcist Legion VR - :gold: 100%

8. Transference - :gold: 100%

9. Wraith - :gold: 100%

10. AFFECTED: The Manor - :gold: 100%

11. Dead Secret - :gold: 100%

12. DEADLAND VR - (15%)

- The Exorcist Legion VR was disappointing. Maybe my expectations were a little too high because of the Exorcist name. It did have some spooky locations and moments but the game had a lot of glitches (playstation errors at the end of a chapter BEFORE the trophy unlocked, objectives I clearly finished not being marked as completed, etc.) which forced me to replay each chapter several times. The story was also very disjointed.

- Transference had some great graphics for VR and I always love when games use real filmed footage in the game environment. I always remember playing The Darkness and watching an hour of To Kill a Mockingbird on the TV in the game. I thought it would end but the movie just kept playing! I thought that would have been a bigger thing in games but I haven't seen it much since. This one also had a very disjointed story which was filled in if you watch the video log collectibles. Overall the art of the game made it interesting but I'm glad it was a short experience.

- Wraith was a typical VR wave shooter. Getting to wave 50 seemed daunting but after about 10 minutes of getting used to the controls it wasn't that bad. There were only two enemy models coming at you so the game did get a little boring. It is the first game I used the AIM controller for so that was fun.

- AFFECTED: The Manor was basically a walking simulator with no interactions. Besides the spooky atmosphere there were several jumpscares that didn't really get me and a lot of cliched horror tropes throughout. The game was maybe 20 minutes long but the trophies make you "explore" for 2 hours. I put my headset on a chair and watched American Horror Story 1984 while I waited for the trophies to pop.

- Dead Secret was like a VR point and click adventure game. The mystery wasn't too interesting though; more cliched murder mystery stuff. Once I finished it I used a guide to quickly unlock the other endings for the rest of the trophies.

I didn't update this, sorry.

Anyways, finally got started on a BIG game, the recent Ni no Kuni for PS4. Not Ni No Kuni 2, this is the PS3 game. As of such I don't know if I will platinum the PS3 version as well as there's little point. Of course, the PS3 version has a bug that lets you duplicate consumables so you could have 99 Great Sage's Secrets and just get the Guildering the Lily trophy early. Can't do that here, you have to wait for post-game to farm Golden Tokotokos. :(

Still, I will probably enjoy the long grind - the graphics are much smoother than the original PS3 version, and since it's at 60 FPS, things seem to move a bit faster. Since the brunt of the trophies are post-game only, I will probably just take my time going through the story and playing other games from time to time to get more platinums. I might make this my 100th platinum like I did the PS3 version in an older account. (Yes, I had an older account which hit 100 platinums.)

Update

I got sick. Actually, I am still still sick. Trophy hunters don't get paid vacations or sick days. I am well enough to keep going but I will take the hits until I recover. Just because I can do something, doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. I should really look after my health right now so I don't die.

Steredenn

I am currently the 5th fastest 100% achiever in this game. My time was 58 minutes, 5 seconds. I got very lucky a was able to beat the game on my third try. Steredenn is one of those side scrolling roguelike shoot 'em up game with a bit of bullet hell. I had really good luck finding passive abilties that synergized together well. Steredenn is a really fun game but once you beat the game with only the blaster (default weapon), there is zero reason for a trophy hunter to keep playing. No platinum but you can earn 2 gold trophies.

Xenon Valkyrie+

I am very bad at Xenon Valkyrie+. I feel like I'm playing the game wrong or something.

Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 has gone very well so far. Insanity difficulty hasn't given me much trouble so far. I'm currently debating playing the DLC on Insanity despite insanity not being required. Taking a break will hurt my fastest 100% rank a lot. Accepting not being #754 is very hard for me to let go.

Maybe I'll play a game that doesn't require a lot of thinking and concentration while I recover. My event list doesn't have many viable options. I'll think of something.
