As lewd as the percentage is, I am too tired to try to increase Dark Cloud's percent with another trophy. (It's almost 4 AM right now where I am.) So it will stay there until I wake up later to feed the dogs again. Anyways, it's ironic that the trophy that got me to that 69% was catching Baron Garayan, the most transgender fish in RPG history. At least it's not 54! anymore. (Final Fantasy XIII speedrun meme. )

 

I will probably stop there until my parents come back from Germany on the even of the 10th and I go home, then I'll work on getting Kingdom Hearts to my 100th platinum while working on the other games. I will probably try to get more Ratchet and Clank trophies. I know I've put off Secret of Mana so maybe I'll grind up there, but I really want to work on Dragon Quest XI when I get home, maybe play a bit of it every day like some cartoon show. Sylvando's insane facial tics make me feel like I'm watching a dubbed anime.

Made some progress in Dragon Quest Builders, and I'd like to reiterate once again that I hate speed trophies, but I especially hate them in this game where I just want to build, battle, and explore. However, I did manage to complete all of chapter 1's challenges. It took a while to find my bearings and figure out which quests were superfluous because I wasn't sure which ones I needed to explore. Next time I'll be sure to write down the townspeople's requests, so I know ahead of time what to do and what to ignore.

I'm missing a total of 34 crowns. It's way less than normally as I played the vanilla MHW and had to get many crowns over there as well. Other than that, I'll clear all optional quests as well. They're not required for the plat, but they can give crowns and give one final quest upon completing all of them.

Despite the earlier set back, I had a lot of fun with this game.  The game itself is phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good RPG experience.  That being said the trophy list is really rough.  The game is mega-grindy.  With the 10000 enemies, 75% of treasure, Jump-Rope, and 99 frogs, not to mention the other 4 or 5 missables this game can be a lot.  That being said, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  If you enjoy RPGs this could be a game worth looking into. 

 

That out of the way here's whats left that I committed to for the event.  With the announcement of the PS5, I want to make sure any game that requires the PS3 online is done ASAP so I will probably dive into ME3 next.

I swore I would get the Dark Cloud trophy as my 90th platinum before I had to go back to my house. Turns out I could have waited until midnight as my parents aren't coming home until WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY after dark, so I have to feed Ruthie's dogs. AGAIN.

 

Anyways, I did oversleep and woke up at noon, but I still had plenty of time to clear the final dungeon of that game and die to the final boss once. (Yeah, first time I actually wiped because Stand-In Powder doesn't work and I was spawned right in front of his claw when he slammed the ground.) Regardless I was glad you didn't have to go through the entire cutscene theater a second time if you wipe, and I defeated Dark Genie and got the final trophy for the platinum. Now just slavering over POWGI again to get filler platinums so I can make Kingdom Hearts III my 100th.

 

I wanted to get multiple trophy progress so I thought I'd get many trophies in Dragon Quest Xi. BIG MISTAKE. This game is like Ni no Kuni, forget about anything but story trophies until post-game. I got just one story-related trophy but at least I got to Octagania. Now myPS4 is packed. I could earn more trophies elsewhere but by the time I get done with POWGI I'll be too wasted and will probably veg out watching Games Done Quick videos until my parents return.

 

THEN THE KINGDOM HEARTS III GRIND WILL BEGIN AGAIN.

 

At least I got three games off my bucket list.

 

Edit: Am I the only one who wants Square-Enix to put out a patch for Dragon Quest XI to include the quality of life changes that Dragon Quest XI S has(photo mode, appearance changing costumes having their own slot so you don't have to get rid of them when their defense stat becomes obsolete, battle speedup, etc.) and Ticktington as DLC?

Made a tiny bit of progress with Ao no Kiseki and Omega Quintet.  Then Monochrome Order came out and it's actually a really fun game.  I completed 4 out of the 5 total endings and am pretty close to the end on that last one, it just had the difficulty spike by a lot all of a sudden and I'm going to need to grind a bit.  No biggie since I was going to have to do that anyhow to take on the boss enemies (even getting to them is still hard right now, those dungeons are nuts as far as how hard they are).  I was pretty excited about this game when I saw it was going to come this month and it's just as fun as I thought it would be.  I think the system with judgments is really interesting.  How it works is that your character is someone called an Arbiter who makes Judgments based on what he feels is the will of the world's Creation Deity. His work includes things like giving permission to execute murderers to deciding where to focus the budget because the nation he's assigned to is poor.  On top of that, no one can defy his judgments, not even the king.  So if he says to let go a known thief, they have to do so.  It's totally your choice on what to do, though each choice has effects that can vary from what sort of stats get raised to if you can have a particular ally join or a certain item is sold in stores, and so on.  All in all, I've found it to be a fun game and well worth the $15 asking price since I'm at 20+ hours and still not done yet.

We are playing the first game which was free on PS+. We are having such a laugh with it though so will definitely look at getting the 2nd one and DLCs once it is one sale myself.

 

I also managed to get Mile High Club done on MW last night as well which is another out the way. Hopefully tonight I can focus on the Best of the Best challenge and start making progress on Far Cry 5. I have a weekend of spare time so hoping for some good movement.

Just finished up Monochrome Order and wow that last ending route sure spiked the difficulty a lot and those optional bosses were pretty hard.  Enjoyed the game overall and definitely felt it was worth the money spent.  Will get back to Ao no Kiseki and Omega Quintet now until CS3 releases.

I pretty much finished my deadly obsession playthrough on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I’m at the final battle just need to try and beat the boss and it’s 3 more trophies and the platinum. After that it’s only the Challenge Tombs DLC. For now I’ll start MK11 and I’ll edit this post if I make any progress this weekend.

I've had a busy week filled with a lot of non-gaming stuff (I know. Outdoors. Imagine the horror!) I've also been down the past couple of days as it turns out I'm allergic to lavender. In all, I haven't had much time this week to play, so this update will be on the shorter side.

 

I got the platinum for Shadow of Mordor. The only difficult trophy was A Mighty Doom, which requires you to get a level 25 rune. To get this you need to kill a level 20 orc (+20), have him be a warchief (+2), know his weaknesses (+1), exploit his weakness (+1), and kill him after he's killed you (+1). This is all well and good, but the chance exists that you will get an epic rune when you kill him, which is not leveled and will not help you at all. Turns out if you kill the captain either with a caragor or he gets killed by another orc, he is guaranteed to drop a regular rune. I ended up chasing a warchief halfway across the map and back again, then in the opposite direction before grabbing him and using him as a meat shield. The trophy popped shortly thereafter. The other trophies were simple and came with time. I imagine I'll take a bit of a break before diving into the DLC's.

[EDIT] The Mordor Eugenics Program has proven to be a failure. The orcs are not coming stronger as hypothesized. Thus, the Mordor Eugenics Program will be discontinued until we can convince the Board of Directors of it's usefulness.

I also played and completed What Remains of Edith Finch. I had heard a lot of good things about it, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I found it to be a very engaging experience, especially with how certain gameplay elements are tied in to the traditional 'walking simulator' genre. Another PS Plus game I kinda feel bad about getting for free, and one I'll definitely be coming back to in time, even after I've 100% it.

 

Looking forward, I'll be playing one episode of Guardians a week. Call me elitist, but I don't want my fastest platinum milestone to be a Telltale game. I haven't played Jak and Daxter since I was a kid, so I might look into that soon. I'm looking forward to playing LEGO Star Wars III again. It was one of my favourite LEGO games back on Xbox 360, before I owned a PS3. I have a sort of compulsion with doing things in order though, I've 100% the first LEGO Star Wars on PS2 not long ago, and I'll need to 100% the second before I can start the third. My brain won't allow anything else. As always, Shanky exists on the horizon, but I don't feel masochistic enough to try my hand at that procession of piss any time soon.

[EDIT III] I've decided to add Cat Quest to my list. It seems like a fun little game, and what I've heard from others appears to confirm that. It's been in my backlog for a little while, and with the sequel is on its way it seems like a good time to play it.

My guess is that fulfiling my goal for this challenge will depend on three things:

1. Finding good players for the Advanced Co-Op stuff (which is needed for 3 trophies) in RDR which is in my way for getting 100% on RDR.
   • Whatever I tried, most people either didn't use cover and just rushed to death, didn't use voice communication or didn't stick with rest of the team and died alone. 
2. Dark Souls
   • Wanted to complete this game last year but had no nerve for this game.
3. PSVR
   • Didn't use this since one year ago. Hope it is still fine and running.

What I have to write to my surprise:

• I like FF XV surprisingly well. You just have to get used to the combat mechanics. Meanwhile I enjoy the animations during battle!
  • Actually I don`t know if I plan on playing the Comrades-Stuff offline.
• I enjoy the art style of Child of Light. It's like seeing a moving wall painting.

So i finally finished second DLC in TC Wildlands and got my 100%. Also i got platinum for 2 games from the list Grim Legends 2 & 3. Nothing special, two really easy hidden object games.

 

Oh, and i added Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to the list if that's ok. Reason for this is because i'm close to 10000 trophies milestone and i want that platinum for it. Even tho, i'm not very thrilled about doing survival stages on Crushing

It's been a pretty insane month at work so i'm going to be off on staycation (is that a thing?) from this Thursday onwards. The weather is getting really cold here and the days are much shorter, so I can't wait to hunker down for some gaming on my time off with the heating on and some nice drinks and snacks. Perfect weather for this hobby!

 

Anyway, onwards with the updates! -

 

I've spent most of my weekend gaming hours working on Yakuza 3. Mainly the Ultimate challenges which range from surprisingly easy to infuriatingly hard. I'm happy to say I got pretty much all trophies for the game now, bar finishing a quick playthrough on Legend difficulty - which shouldn't be too much of a issue if I do it on New Game+ with all my levels and gear.

 

Oh and to save my sanity while completing the challenges I switched gear and made a start on Wolfenstein Youngblood. No trophies earned yet, but I tried it out at least. Not hugely bad so far, but I haven't really gotten into it so won't have a proper opinion till i make a proper start

 

I really want to get cracking on Man of Medan, but I don't think i'm gonna until November when they release the Curators Cut DLC separately from the pre-order versions of the game. Apparently it'll help the platinum be less reliant on co-op and let you do more single player.

Another one off the list, this time it's Sniper Ghost Warrior. What can I say, the game is buggy as Fallout 76. Multiplayer was glitched but in a good way, 2000 kills trophy popped for all of our team around 1500/1600 kills so it saved a little bit of time, but singleplayer trophies glitched on me as well and they required a lot of repeated mission's playthroughs. I'm gonna be doing online trophies in SGW 2 soon because they are very quick and easy to boost, I hope that the 2nd game is better, I kind of liked the idea but the overall product was mediocre at its best.
