A truly enjoyable game, I am glad I picked it up. The reason this took so much to finish was because a. I really loved playing detective and I failed lots of cases. b. I just drove around the streets of L.A. with a coffee in my hand and just listening to the 1947 radio and music. It is a game that was unexpectedly good and hit me hard. It really captured the Noir films atmosphere.

 

But all good things come to an end...after completing some multiplayer stupidity in Blur (not on this list) it's time to focus on DMC2. I need to revise my speedrun strats because that game is mentally breaking. So, SO bad!

Yeah, that’s what threw me off. How the Vita version could still be going for more than the PS4 version during a sale. I too have played through the Vita version. I may pick up the PS4 version and maybe Steins Gate Elite, since it is on sale as well.

In all honesty, I thought that his game had some really really janky combat, but the exploration, platforming and storyline were great. The main standout part was the story for me, it felt so good to get an actual standalone single-player game set in the Star Wars universe and a good one narratively at that. None of the gameplay is original by any means, it's a patchwork of gameplay systems from other games (Dark Souls, Uncharted, Tomb Raider, all metroidvania genre games etc), but for me that wasn't necessarily a bad thing and at no point did I stop having fun. 

 

Here's to hoping we'll get more Star Wars entries like this. I'd be 100% okay with having a Star Wars Sith spin-off title/series too. I like the Jedi, but the Sith side of things has far more interesting stories and possibilities.

 

Next up is Man of Medan now that the Curator's Cut DLC is available and I don't have to rely on online stuff as much to complete it fully. I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish all of my games before 2020, but i'm optimistic!

It's probably because Vita versions often are forgotten with regards to sales.  I've seen some games that aren't cross buy have the PS4 version go on sale plenty of times and the Vita version not, so a lesser sale on a Vita version isn't out there.

Got the Last of Us Platinum 2 days ago and just finished up the Left Behind DLC today, bringing the game to 100% complete.

So ... when it rains, it pours.

It's been the worst week I had since my fiancé died. There he was, stupid Jay from the past, thinking it would all get better now after he's seeing someone again.

Well, guess not.

As I already told you, my granny is dying, she's getting a lot of morphium now just to ease her last steps, the doctor said it would be better to just "help" her die at that point, but that's illegal here so here we are hoping it's quick. But at least we had our Christmas yesterday, not everyone made it, but it was the best we could do.

But wait, there's more - the husband of my aunt had a heart attack this week, and his future is currently unknown...

BUT WAIT, there's even more, the long lost brother from my dad's first wife has been found, dead, with a note "I fucked up", not even 20 minutes from here... we still have a healthy relationship with my dad's ex-wife and her/his children, so it's been quite a shock.

BUT WAIT, EVEN MORE! 

If you've read my about me you'll know I'm born with spastic tetraplegia and brain damage, had a completly paralized right side for my first 2 years.It's been mostly good for the past years, but I can't feel pain in my right arm since Monday anymore and after a few hours it gets quite hard to even move it. The last time it was this bad was when I had grown quite a lot and my already short muscles couldn't keep up with me growing.

I just want some luck at this point.

I don't want pity or anything, I just feel like sharing would strip at least some of the weight I'm carrying atm.

Finished up Arkham Asylum and I would like to add more information from my experience. The fighting seems really well designed and if you know what you are doing, you can just combo all your moves into one another to get a pretty big freeflow going. It only took me a little bit of time to get both trophies I was worried about since A. the later levels in the challenges give you an excellent place to pull of all combos in one go and B. big groups of enemies are easy to combo if you only use the punch and counter. Sadly, the fighting is not perfect. The camera doesn't/can't show every goon you're facing. This has led to multiple times I was fighting someone, only for someone else to charge in and hit me before I had a chance to counter or move out of the way if I couldn't. There were also many examples where Batman would randomly choose a fallen goon when I pressed "Take Down," He chooses one that is closer to a standing up goon rather then the one I was standing next to, and then get knocked out of my combo. Lastly (and this could just be a me problem), I never really figured out how to combo into a Batarang. It always seemed so clumsy to use, almost like you have to press the button during another move and then hesitate while it activated. I lost a good amount of combos trying to use it, and even when I learned a good time to use it, it was still a roll of the dice if I was going to use it correctly. It was these three problems which gave me a hard time with the Combat Challenges, which ranks you on well you did, how big your combo got, if you got hit, and the like. They were fun at first, but getting a high score was way harder then it sounded. The Predator Challenges were more fun since they just ranked you on if you could pull of three different moves. It's still worth playing, just be warned that the Combat trophies can be hard.

 

I've been playing Rayman Legends. I would have liked to put it on my list, but I got the majority of trophies in two days and now I'm just working on the slow journey towards the last level of Awesomeness and I don't want to keep coming back here just to say "I have blah blah points left until I get the trophy." I still want to update you guys on what I thought of it. I was right when I said that Legends was better then Origins. It's alot easier for one thing. The Lums aren't as hard to get due to the line of purple Lums that show up if you collect them in order. I found looking for the Teesies an interesting challenge but still easier then finding most of the secrets in the first game. They even added in a good number of levels from Origins that I remember liking a lot. The only thing I can think of that they didn't improve on was the the swimming controls. I don't remember liking the swimming controls in Origins, but I don't remember much about them. After fighting the water boss in the "Return to Origins" painting I have come to the conclusion that they are exactly how I remember them if not worse. All and All, a better version of Origins.

 

As for real additions, I'm currently down loading three/four expansions I've been looking forward to: Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, Watch Dogs: Bad Blood, and Assassin's Creed: Origins: The Hidden Ones/The Curse of the Pharaohs. I would like to knock at lest one of these games off (probably Horizon, which I've already started), but I'm going to finish one or two more games before adding another game onto the list. Speaking of, it's about time I started Outlast 2.

Update time...

 

Been too long again but I've been wrapped up in a nice warm blanket called The Outer Worlds. As well as real life being a bit busy. I don't have any huge updates but I did manage to finish off Fe as part of the latest KYC event. I have been deeply pleased by how good The Outer Worlds is. Is it perfect, no but the story and the humor is fantastic.

 

I have also decided to use my 3 swaps to finish off a couple of the other KYC event games and one new game. I will be swapping both Xblaze games. Not that I don't want to play them, I will at a later time. I will then be adding God of War and Uncharted : The Lost Legacy in their place.

 

I also decided to play Titanfall 2 finally since it is part of the free games for December. Figured I could knock that out quickly. Oh boy, I forgot about the Becomes the Master trophy... That was quite possibly the biggest pain in the butt I have tried to deal with. I normally stay away from hard trophies as I feel I can better use my limited free time toward trophies I know I can achieve without having to do a repetitious activity. However, I hunkered down to "git gud" (as the kids say) and it took a lot longer than it probably should have (6 hours spread over two days) but I finally beat the time needed to get the trophy. I even captured my trophy run for posterity : 

 

Did it make me feel happy to have achieved this after all that toiling, yes but more relieved than anything else. I also felt drained and very tired. The hunt must continue though, I got the 3 multiplayer trophies out of the way, so that is done. Now I just have to go through the campaign and I am done...

 

To make way for Titanfall 2, I have swapped out Vane. So that makes 5 of 7 swaps and I still have my 2 drops. I will have more free time toward the end of the month to try and clear some games out. That is all I have for now. My updated list is below...

Just finished up Persona 5 and I'm so sad that it's over, will for sure be getting Royal when it comes out next year.  This was my first Persona game and I think it has easily become my all time favorite game, everything about it was perfection - the style, the story, the characters, the music...oh my gosh the music!  Even my husband (who normally doesn't like that style of game) was humming along with some of the songs.

 

I have to say I really binged it, I couldn't put it down and clocked 98 hours just on my first playthrough.  I was apprehensive before playing as I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy the sim parts of it and I also wasn't sure if I was ready for an 100+ hour JRPG, I'm glad I took the leap though as I enjoyed every single second   Really want to try out Persona 4 Golden soon too, need to clear some Vita space for that though.

 

Not sure what's next - kind of hard to follow a game as amazing as Persona.  I'm thinking maybe Detroit: Become Human and possibly adding Nom Nom Galaxy to my list

Hey everyone 

 

Another update from me before a short break. I’ll go on holidays to Mexico tomorrow so won’t be able to play for a bit. I continued to play Dragon Quest 11. Making some solid progress and I’m like 35 hours in so far. 

 

In in between I started up Spyro the Dragon and I also got the platinum! Took me 2 days and made me decide to also add the other 2 Spyro games to my list. I like the games, their fun to play and not to difficult to platinum. 

 

I’ll make one change to my list, I’m switching Subnautica for Concrete Genie. I started up Subnautica nut couldn’t really get into the game. So I decided to make a switch.

I've spend some money in the end of year sale and therefore I'm updating my goals:

Swap 4: I'm dropping Red Faction Re-Mars-Tered and will do South Park Stick of Truth instead. I haven't looked at Red Faction once since September, and have a bunch of games I'm more interested in right now.

I've got the NA Version in the sale. The censored oneyou can get in Germany is a just awful, afaik half the game is just a black square because of the Nazi stuff.

I'm also adding Life is Strange - Before the Storm. I need something story based right now.

So we've done all of the main game and DLC available within the main game and the only thing left is the DLC episodes for each of the bros and the BBED.  I'm debating on whether I want to try to do those this weekend or "Become the Master" in Titanfall 2.  I guess I'll see how I feel about it Saturday morning.  

 

As for the rest of Final Fantasy 15, I killed the giant turtle, explored the menace dungeons (Mostly for the little monoliths for the datalog), and defeated Omega.  Get the turtle out of here, that was the most boring half hour in the entire game.  All it is is standing there wailing on a health bar until he moves a fraction of an inch and you need to press the dodge button or the warp button depending on if he backs off or moves his leg forward.  If you do get hit, you can point warp on top of a rock and literally stand there until your HP regenerates.  In contrast, Omega was a really good boss that boasted a balance of you could die in 1-hit if you aren't careful, to well telegraphed and avoidable attacks. It was one of the few bosses (Musaline being the other) where you couldnt just hold attack till its time to heal.  

 

The optional dungeons were mostly pretty bland, almost all of them are just a series of rooms you fight enemies in and repeat until a boss fight. Pitioss however was in fact a dungeon, a horrible grinding, disrespectful, slaughterfest of a dungeon, but a good dungeon none the less.  I particularly enjoyed the story of Ifrit that it told as he escaped from titan and went down into the underworld? Idk its hard to tell from the statues but none the less my RPG suddenly became a platformer and I really enjoyed the change of pace.

Sinking my teeth back into DMC2. Surprisingly enough...it's way more manageable compared to the first time I finished the game. Still a royal boredom but now I can finish the game faster.

What I ignored in my first playthrough was the Rocket Launcher. Now I fully upgraded it and....let's say the game became absurdly unfair. That and the guns. Glad that I have a turbo controller, Dante can now shoot nonstop bullets/rockets/whatever he has in his pockets. 

 

Can't wait to get rid of it though....

Oninaki:

I failed to get my PSN level up in November, got it on Dec 1 instead. Anyway, back to Oninaki.

Got all trophies except one out of the way. The last one besides the plat requires beating the final boss of the bonus dungeon that can be found on the 101st floor. Cleared the 85th floor earlier today and will get the last floors out of the way tomorrow. The bonus dungeon isn't that hard. Most enemies (bosses included) die quite fast, but some of them can deal a lot of damage fast if you're not careful. I'd say this is a good kind of difficulty. The battles are relatively short tests of skill/knowledge of enemy attacks. You die fast if you fail to dodge too many times (and therefore run out of healing items or get killed before it comes to that) or the boss dies before you're in trouble & you don't have to waste most of your healing items.

Oninaki:

Got the plat today after progressing through the last 16 floors of the bonus dungeon. The difficulty didn't increase that much compared to previous floors, it was still quite doable. Spent some time adding better skills to my weapon to increase my damage output, this was especially helpful against regular foes to defeat most of them with one attack. As for the last boss, it wasn't overly difficult. The boss on the 101st floor dishes out quite a bit of damage, but falls quickly to a manifested Daemon.

The grind isn't bad in this game, got everything out of the way just fine while progressing through the bonus dungeon.

 

I'm glad I decided to play this game, definitely had fun. As this is my third Tokyo RPG Factory plat and the developer only has three games so far, I'm hoping to see more of their games in the future. Not sure they'll get another chance, though, sales weren't exactly great.

There are some Monster Hunter World: Iceborne events starting next Thursday, it's likely I'll stop playing any other game to get these events out of the way. This can easily take up most of my free time for the next few weeks. So Cat Quest II, maybe. It's short, I can probably finish it this year even with me spending most of my time on the MHWI events. We'll see, though. I'll make this decision later today or tomorrow.

Another update with another platinum, though it sadly still isn't Omega Quintet.  Finished up Wizards of Brandel, which was fun enough, but not quite as engaging as the other Kemcos I've gotten recently.  Not too surprising though, sometimes they do miss and they past few months have had such good releases that it was bound to happen.  Still enjoyed it and it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't as good as the Asdivine games and Monochrome Order which were really fun games.  One thing I did think was interesting was that I actually preferred the normal ending to the true ending, when normally the true ending is the more ideal resolution and the happy ending when the normal endings are a less than ideal resolution to the plot and can even end up being sad or bittersweet.

 

Have made some progress in Omega Quintet as well.  Still working my way up the training facility but I have reached the 12th floor and there are 13 floors in total.  Still grinding away at it and am at 166,776,728 approval and 5,435 monster kills.  Definitely a long ways away from 1 billion approval and 10k monster kills needed for the plat, but making headway at least since I've gained over a 100 million approval in the past about a week.  I also knocked out the max affection trophies already.

 

Also added a couple of games.  One was a Black Friday sale impulse buy and the other is next month's Kemco release.  Both should be easy enough at least.

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES 100% 

We did it! We saved the city! The game glitched so hard in the end game, but in a good way. I've finished with 152/150 minikits, unlocked the 100% trophy while the game was at 99.1%.

I've never reached 100% tbh, I was done when the game was at 99.9 with everything else. Another Lego game on my list to do, but that's something for next year.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI (43% -> 44%)

Not much to say about this one, I've been tight on time and only played 100 turns or so the whole week

Borderlands The Pre-Sequel (62% -> 72%)

Claptrap DLC finished, worst final boss I've ever fought in the Borderlands series. Thanks to Fnee again for playing the whole effing thing with me, I really couldn't do it on my own. The game isn't bad, just not as good as the others... This weeks funny moment is probably when if tried to revive Fnee and killed myself with my new launcher. Always check the manufacturer when picking up new gear. I always reload or open the weapon wheel when I revive him because of the lag when he's hosting, this time it killed me.

I wanna thank @DizzyDavidson and the people who liked his post . As I said I don't want anyones pity, I just want to share what's happening atm, the whole thing got a lot easier after sharing.

So a quick update - I've been to the hospital and they've done the usual tests they do on my limbs every year. They could tell that my right arm is worse than last time, duh, but nobody could explain to me why. But I'm pretty sure I can now - I've had a surgery planned for my right arm once,Moving most bones and tendons in my upper arm, strengthen them with some screws and whatever they do.  But I was "scammed" out of it a week before the planned date.  Health insurance stept in, tested me 2 weeks before the surgery and wrote me a week before saying that they wouldn't pay for it. It's counted as plastic surgery because the test results are fine and I could theoretically life with the current level. So I had to pay for the whole thing myself or cancel it... I'm pretty sure that that's what catched up with me now.

I ended up buying more games/DLC's with the 20% discount I received off of one of those PlayStation emails (not sure why they decided to hide it but whatever). Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (VITA) - Second time playing this game so not much to say. The game looks great on the Vita and plays much the same, only difference being the painfully long loading times. I've mostly been playing it in the evening to sort of wind down following the chaotic MGR. Deleted my save file on the PS3 after I finished it originally so I wasn't able to auto-pop this stack. I enjoyed the game so I don't mind playing through it again at all.

 

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - The VR missions went by a lot quicker than I expected. The only real difficult one was VR018. I spent three straight hours on this one evening and basically got nowhere. The next day I approached it with a different mindset and completed it after about 30 minutes of practice. The majority of them are very much luck based, with only a few requiring more skill than luck in order to complete it. Afterwards I ran through the game on Very Hard difficulty to rack up some more BP in order to purchase and fully upgrade the Fox Blade (an extremely overpowered DLC weapon).

 

Today I started my S-Rank Revengeance run. The prologue (R-00) went by very smoothly, as I managed to S-Rank both fights on my first attempt. R-01 was straightforward as well, with only one or two fights requiring more than one attempt. I've had to stop during R-02 as my disc started to act up again (audio cuts out, game continues but nothing saves). Considering buying a new disc, but if I could avoid that it would be nice. Will hopefully have the platinum by the time my next update comes around, all going well ?

I made some great progress this week. This might be a long read.

 

Dragonball Xenoverse 2: Well, what do you know. I only needed 1 more day to finish up the Hero Colosseum. It turned out that the team of figures I had was good enuff to face every battle. Apparently, you don't even need to finish all battles for the trophy. Here's how it happened... I finished the story of HC then played 1-5 star (7 is highest) difficulty Free Battles. After that I just started playing them backwards from the last battle in 7 star thinking to get the hardest ones out of the way first (if I can do those I can do the rest) but there are just a ton of battles and it was getting late (4AM), so I called it quits with 11 battles to go in 6 star. When I quit HC and it put me back into the main area I saw a message pop up that I lost connection to the servers and my game went into offline mode. At this time I thought I check on Oshi (a character you have to talk to when you complete some DLC trophy requirements for the trophy to pop) and I noticed he had something to say. Yup it was the trophy. Eventhough I had 100%, I went back the next day to finish up those battles.

To be honest, this game got a lot of updates, it's possible they added extra battles that wasn't needed for the trophy. The guides I used were a bit outdated.

 

Overall I really enjoyed this game. There were a couple of frustrating moments but with this amount of content I can look past that. I liked DBX2 better than DBX1, I hope they make DBX3.

 

Eat Them!: Very short and easy game. Basically it's about creating a giant monster, destroying cities and eating people (to restore health) with comic book-ish graphics. One of the pre-built monsters got me through the story and got gold rating on most missions. It only required a little bit of clean-up at the end and creating one really OP monster. The game was ok, I prefer to build stuff rather than destroying them, but I can do that once in a while.  

 

God of War: Ghost of Sparta: It's a GOW game, what else can I say? With these games the gameplay always takes front for me, but for some reason the story was more memorable in this entry. The wraiths are prolly the most annoying enemies to fight in the game, ugh. Unfortunately I missed 1 trophy so I will have to go back to that next week. I think these will be my final thoughts on the game, I'll just do an update on the last trophy.

 

 

For next week I haven't decided what to play next... either Wanted Corp or Driveclub (cars)... besides finishing up GOW. I don't want to lay out all my Skylanders figs all over the place before my Xmas break.

Update #9:

An update of mixed fortune this week.. I've continued to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on and off, and would have made more progress had it have not been for a glitched unique jump. I feared the worst and seemed doomed to be stuck on 35/36 jumps, and suspected I'd probably have to load a much earlier save, or worse, start over. I was 99% confident I could narrow it down to one of two jumps which had potentially broken too, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get the bonus to trigger. Last night I figured I'd run through the entire list again before resorting to an earlier/new save, and the second jump on the list triggered the bonus and the trophy (which wasn't one of the two I'd identified as being the culprit)! Motherf*****! Still.. At least I haven't lost any progress gunning for the 100% completion trophy =)
