I've been grinding levels on Criminal Girls (with no trophies to show for it yet) so I can clear post game content easily. I've got some new additions to my list, Pillars of Eternity, I blame @Crispy_Oglop for having it in their list and mentioning it here, lol, and the new Call of Duty game which I got for my birthday this Saturday. After a month of 60 hour weeks I finally have a week off work and aim to crack on with the games I've just mentioned. Excited about the Spring challenge, I think I'll out a few short games and long burners to help my completion rate for another challenge I'm part of. I really hope they will be graded well but let's get back over to some more important things right now shall we, liky for example my PS backlog list I realise that I was saying in my previous update how much I wanted to get HZD done as my 50th platinum, but I'm afraid I got a bit sidetracked (again). Picked up Dead Space not too long ago and decided to give it a go since it seemed a bit more "controleable" to me in terms of using it as a good studybreak (because one I start playing HZD I'm gone for a couple of hours) but now I found myself unable to stop playing this one either. Therefore I decided to use my very first swap of this challenge right now on which I will be switching out the Prince of Persia game in favour of Dead Space. I'm in love with this game but I'll kinda have to control myself for now since I still want HZD to be my 50th platinum. Let's hope I can still try to get it done before the end of the challenge, about halfway through the game atm so still a lot to do although things should kinda speed up a bit from now on. In the time since then I have completed 3 games. Not as many as I would have hoped, but they were longer games that had been on my backlog list for many years. Far Cry 3 took 7 years, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon took 6 years, and Assassin's Creed III Liberation took 7 years to complete. I enjoyed Far Cry 3 for what it was, a Far Cry game. You know what you are getting. Blood Dragon was a fun satire on 80's pop culture. However, the game was way too dark even with the brightness turned all the way up. AC III Liberation was ok, not great though. A lot of grindy and broken trophies on the Vita version. Followed by 2 1/2 hours of wall climbing to finish it all off. With one month left I have 32 games completed with 16 remaining. Will I complete the 16 games? I don't know, chances are slim. I've talked with Emina and decided I'm helping her getting the trophy for other people. It has nothing to do with this challenge, but that's something I wanted to do. I've also finished all main and homestead missions in AC3 remastered, 100% synch. Total synch now at 86%. You can tell that the game was first released back in 2012, since every newer game has a decision at the end now. But not AC3, Spoiler Desmond straight up kills himself and you're trapped in the animus forever. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (PS3)-100% 9/19 Harvest Moon: Mad Dash-100% 12/25 Afrika Cat Quest II Dragon Age: Origins-42=>50% Dragon Quest Builders 2 Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom The Outer Worlds Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure Shakedown Hawaii Slime Rancher Torchlight II I was able to make significant trophy progress in DA: Origins to get my completion halfway. It took me a while since it took me a little bit to motivate myself to do the Deep Roads portion of the game. That and the Fade section during the Circle quest are the most annoying parts of the game in my eyes. I'm playing with multiple characters at once, but my main one is the warrior (since I popped that trophy first). Hoping to make a bit more progress before the Super Bowl. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop Posted February 1, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) Jumping in with a Saturday morning update and Platinum number 135: Subnautica Last week has been an insane week, lot's of long work days and shorter free time in the evening. So my weekend will be very much - stay in pyjamas under a duvet while gaming. I also haven't had much time to spend on my cats either. So i'm really looking forward to playing and cuddling them too. They are pretty much like family members (actually better than some family members ) at this point. Also tonight is takeout night! Yay! There is this really lovely stonebaked pizza place in Dublin that delivers, so my future will most definitely involve a tasty pizza to munch on while playing games and watching more American Horror Story. Back to Subnautica though - I absolutely loved this survival game. It had a great mix of story discovery, adventure and crafting. The idea of crash landing on a planet which was 99.9% water and you had to survive + figure out how to get off-world was really compelling. I loved some of the gameplay loops and the feeling of going from someone with the bare minimum to someone with base technology and exploration vehicles was really rewarding. I was so taken with the game that by the end of it, I didn't want it to be over. Some of the super super deep areas of the underwater world were really creepy in parts and the end game areas were unbelievably tense. I don't think i ever got used to leviathan class creatures and how nerve wracking it was when you heard them before you saw them. And in parts where you were just surrounded by darkness, with little distance for your lights to cover did a great job of increasing the same tension. There were some technical issues towards the end which added some jank, but they weren't so bad as to make you want to stop playing. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on Subnautica:Sub Zero. If it's similar in gameplay to this, it'll be a day 1 purchase for me. All in all, this was a highlight gaming experience for me. Highly recommended if you like this kind of game. Next up is Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire - the sequel to one of my favourite games of this challenge. I also might jump into Journey to the Savage planet with a friend too if the weekend permits. Popular Post iXanon Posted February 4, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2020 Update #14: Welp, F1 2017 took much longer to finish off than I anticipated, but I finally managed to do so this morning as my 2000th trophy milestone. As such, I've made no further progress on the games I've listed in this challenge since my last update 2 weeks ago.. I may have one more completion from the list in me before the end, but honestly my focus is elsewhere. As already mentioned I won't be signing up for the next Backlog challenge this Spring, but should I sign up to another challenge in the future I'll be setting a much more realistic target given my chronic lack of spare time. I also jumped into Journey to the Savage Planet with a friend and so far it's been mindless fun. I'm not sure if it would be as fun playing solo though. Catch you all later in the week! Finished the awful AC3 DLC just now and got the next plat for this event. I actually enjoyed that game a lot, until I've started the DLC. The challenges aren't that bad, the board games are easy imo (and I didn't cheat them with another program simulating my "best" move) But I admit that I've nearly lost my mind tracking Norris for Achilles' stupid book. So that means only Borderlands TPS left, T(rophies)-18 Team Fnay needs to step up a bit tho, we haven't played for three weeks now. I need one fast play through and another for the supernova difficulty. Shouldn’t take me too long as I finished most of the miscellaneous trophy’s in the first play through. I also started up the Sims 4 again. Haven’t played for a long time, but was on ps plus and the game is 20 years old and I couldn’t resist. It’s a lot easier to get the platinum now then 2 years ago, so I should be able to finish it before the challenge ends. Just a couple more hours of XP grinding and a handful of co-op missions using a second controller. Are we going to have H2S3 with the new enemies that showed up at the end? Who knows? I believe I'm done. I had my doubts at halfway point about not being able to finish everything but somehow I did manage to pull it off... and earlier than expected too. I didn't get to play everything I wanted on the side (Sorry Tomb Raider, didn't even get thru all the comics), but I do feel pretty good about what I achieved. Stuck to my list and even added an extra game (Grand Kingdom, thx to servers closing) which was a first for me. I have a couple of games picked out for Spring already but my list is not final yet. I will probably have it by the end of next week. I have some unfinished business with a few games (RE2, Days Gone, Warframe, etc), so I'm just going to use this "downtime" to get to them.
