PlanetCheat
There are a lot of great franchises we've all played, each having their unique form of gameplay mechanics and world crafting. But have you ever thought about which series would be great to experience in virtual reality? This is a question I wanted to hear other people's answers to. So, what franchises would be perfect for a VR experience if another entry in their respective series were to be developed? My personal answers: Aquanaut's Holiday, Jumping Flash, Killzone, Mirror's Edge If you have an answer, please share it with everyone. EDIT: After some addition thinking, I would also like to play Twisted Metal in VR from a perspective inside a vehicle. I can imagine that causing some nausea, ha ha. Looking out at the city across the water or up in the sky would be an amazing sight. Might even slightly extract common fears that some people have, such as claustrophobia or fear of heights. Those games certainly have excellent worlds to explore. 8 minutes ago, DaivRules said: Folklore I'd love for that series to return. Unfortunate about the cancelled sequel. It has a great atmosphere and visually rich setting. Using the Motion Controllers with the established gameplay from the original - I think it would work well in VR. Alantor32
Some JRPG that has VR support or is a PSVR JRPG.

I could see it getting a PlayStation release at some point. It's happened with a few games before.

There's a full library of great JRPG's. But I can't seem to think of many that would use VR to its full advantage. Regardless, any of them would be cool just for immersion. Or a spinoff game like done with Monsters of the Deep: Final Fantasy. Sword Art Online or .hack could be cool in VR.

PFinchen
I would love to see the next Fight Night game on VR assuming one ever came out. It’s cool to have the goofy boxing games and Creed, but a boxing game with real fighters would be a step up.
thefourfoldroot
I second JRPGs. The slow pace, exploration, turn based combat and minigames and unique world make VR a great fit.

Super-Fly Spider-Guy
Damn near anything in first person, that is also a decent game. Like even stuff like the Modern Warfare trilogy, I loved playing through the campaigns, and I'd love to step into that world in full on first person VR. I'd rebuy the trilogy in a heartbeat. Like don't even give them a visual upgrade, just stick the camera in the soldier's head, let me turn his head with mine, and call it a day. MP would be pretty sick too, why isn't there a VR COD yet? But moreover, the only game I really want in VR, like really really reeeeeally want, is Spider-Man. I don't get motion sickness from VR and the people who do would likely never try it anyway, so go balls out. Make it as realistic with regards to how Spidey moves as you can. I've seen footage of that free one they released for the new movie and it's a nice start but it's over in like 10 minutes and doesn't have any real swinging physics whatsoever to speak of (still better than Energy Hook though), but that alone was almost enough to get me to FINALLY spend 120 bucks on a pair of those stupid dildo controllers for my PSVR. A fully funded, well made, VR from the ground up exclusive Spider-Man game. I'd buy that full price day one, I'd buy the dildo remotes for it, and if it comes out as a new gen exclusive, I'd buy a PS5 for it. Hell, just make it the free roam stuff from Spidey 2 and you're good. Fuck story, fuck characters, fuck all of it. Just give me a nice sized city, amazing swing physics, and unlimited crimes to stop and criminals to beat up. Throw in a handful of races and rescue missions and you've got yourself all my money. If that Iron Man VR game sells well, who knows, maybe it will happen some day. Edited August 4, 2019 by Super-Fly Spider-Guy

Drag-On-Detritus
Came to say Aquanauts Holiday but it's already in the op which is awesome. I'd really like anything similar to Aquanauts but there's nothing. I tried Jupiter & Mars but that absolutely 'wasn't it'. I'd like Afrika in VR too & reckon any type of VR game based on wildlife cataloguing would be brilliant. I'd like one set on a Tepui personally. I'd really like a sequel to Farpoint, I was invested in what was going on the whole time & the ending just screamed 'wait for the sequel sucker!'. It was an excellent game with the aim controller & all the comfort options turned off. More games like that would be cool as well. Finally, would really enjoy another flying game like Eagle Flight. I tried Rush VR but something about it felt a bit lacking. More horror would be cool as well. That Pupil;Wandering game was really cool but felt like a demo when all's said & done. To be fair it was only 'charpter one' but I don't have much confidence in other chapters coming out sadly. I'm still waiting for a bit of a discount on 'horror sense', that one looked like a bit of a laugh.

It's a deviation from the common VR game. An up-close and personal perspective of your avatar's home and surroundings - great idea.

It's games like Afrika, which explore uncommon grounds for a game, that I want to experience in VR. The gameplay is simple and would easily allow the player to get immersed into the setting. Perhaps SIE will make another wildlife game with VR compatibility. I have yet to play Farpoint but I will eventually. I like the gameplay I've seen. And any sequels that expand on the alien planet atmosphere will be a welcomed addition.
DaikichiKawachi
Horror games work great in VR. An Until Dawn/Man of Medan type game would be really cool.

An Until Dawn/Man of Medan type game would be really cool. I think a Resident Evil game with the classic fixed camera angles would be a good idea for a gameplay mechanic in VR. Sort of like with Astro Bot Rescue Mission. It would encourage players to look at their surroundings. It could be costly if they neglected to spot an enemy slightly out of frame and would be rewarding if they found items sitting just below their line of sight. An idea to return Resident Evil to its roots. I didn't care too much for the first-person perspective in RE7. I’m down for Sony to loosen their censorship, something like what Valve did with Steam. Not necessarily straight up porn but I’m certain there’d be a large group of adult gamers who would appreciate having the option of playing VR games with sexual content/nudity. Plus imagine if they all had platinums and “the grind” meant something much more fun ?
