Popular Post TomoTakino Posted August 31, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) General Information After the announcement of a western release for the three remastered PS3 Yakuza games, I began replaying this series and wanted to spread the love for this awesome series and encourage more people to try and play the various games within. What better way to spur interest and curiosity than by creating and hosting a Let's Play event? This event was created to encourage players, both newcomers and series veterans, to try the various games within the Yakuza series (and spin offs) as well as earn special mahjong tiles (trophies) for expanding and completing additional games they may or may not have tried yet. Because of this, there is no deadline for completion or entering and it's encouraged not to rush these games but to enjoy them and explore the living worlds and the wealth of bonus content within at your own pace. If you have any interest in this series, I highly recommend picking up a copy and joining us in playing through Yakuza! You can even earn custom Mahjong pieces for completing games in the series and you can get some even if you've already completed games in the series! Feel free to leave any comments or feedback that you feel could help benefit the let's play! Also, please post any updates you may have with the event as I will not be able to monitor the participants so if you've made progress and want to get credited or share with everyone else, please post! The only exception is if I add additional challenges or trophies, in which case I will check the participants prior to adding it (though after adding it, please update if you achieve it). Also, please let me know if your PSN profile does not match your Forum profile and which name you want on your custom mahjong piece. For the sake of enjoyment and completion, feel free to ask or offer help. However, please keep spoilers hidden for those who care about the storyline. Thanks! The Goal The goal for this event is to expose more people to the Yakuza series as well as encourage those who are interested or have played previously to resume playing the games and attempt to complete all of the games in the series. As additional games are released, they will be added to the event (such as Yakuza 7 and the rumored translated version of Ishin). That's an incredible effort, awesome job! Also, I didn't forget Kenzan but I didn't include it because it doesn't have trophies so it's difficult to verify completion. I'll be starting Kiwami 2 shortly. I think it's a shame Yakuza 1 & 2 aren't included on the list of eligible games in some form. The PS3 remasters weren't released in the west of course, but neither was Ishin. But to trully experience game mechanics I want first to complete Shenmue 1 a 2, before I start with this big series (meanwhile Sega will launch 4,5,6 on disc, so nothing stops me). So please add me too, but it is possible (due to work), that I complete first Yakuza game in the end of this year or in start of the next one. Thank You. I'm glad you're interested in the series! Shenmue is definitely worth playing though. Some have likened Yakuza as a spiritual successor to Shenmue but both are awesome games worth playing.
