Invincible Glitch

As the title says (credits to Fishly for discovering it), there is a glitch that allows you to become completely invincible and his quite easy to activate it, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

 

- everytime you step out of a dream, the glitch will be gone, and you must re-activate it (although in single player, this glitch is useless because the only thing that are hard in this game are the 4th and the 5th pantheon. Everything else is very simple).

- if you fail to activate the glitch, you must return to the title screen and then reload the save, because you can activate the glitch only once for reload (listen Fishly in the video, to know why you must do this).

 

Now, how to activate this glitch? It's simple:

 

- first of all, put the Super Dash to X in the control mapping (it will be easier this way)

- now, you must press quickly L1 for 2 times AND, in between the 2 times, you must also hold down X to charge the Super Dash

- if done correctly, you will not open the quick map (L1) but instead you will have the Super Dash ready, but you will notice that you can freely walk out of the crystal and move around

- now, to complete the glitch, while holding X, you must activate the Dream Gate (Hold Triangle + Up)

- in the EXACT moment the Knight vanishes and begins the teleportation animation, you must RELEASE X to do the Super Dash

- doing this, will cancel the teleportation but you will be also invincible (because you are intangible thanks to the Dream Gate)

 

As i said, you are completely invincible with this glitch, nothing can harm you (neither the hazards). So once you are in this state, go to the bench and equip an Overcharged Build (like Unbreakable Strength, Grubberfly's Elegy, Mark Of Pride, Quick Slash) and then go to the 4th and 5th Pantheon (once you have the Void Heart for this one) and beat them to reclaim the plat. I've used it yesterday night, so i can confirm that this glitch still works (but even if they will patch it out, you can simply cancel the patch, use the Patch Deletion Method or buy the physical edition and play it offline).

PS: after the glitch is completed, you can reput the Super Dash to L2 and the Jump to X.

What's the point of complaining about a glitch? You have done the plat legit? Perfect, no one will complain about that. But if someone wants to use the glitch to save time (like me) or because, no matter what, he cannot beat Pure Vessel (the hardest thing in the game, because Absolute Radiance is not that difficult and Nightmare Grimm is easy) and wants to platinum the game anyway, what's the problem?

I'm using it right now.

 

I wasted around 15 minutes trying to get the first part until I checked more comments on the youtube vid and realized that you can sometimes be randomly blocked from being able to do the glitch for no reason. Reloaded my save and was able to do the first part on the first try every time. The only tricky part is getting the timing right on the Dream gate.

I had not activated the glitch once. Like you can only bug the Super Dash once per loaded save and yet it wouldn't work despite having never done it once.

If you're gonna detail everything step by step, I shouldn't have to watch a 5 minutes video for a 10 seconds glitch :). I just wanted to clarify this point to possibly save someone else wasting some of their time since personally you weren't clear enough if you were actually talking about what I just wrote about. Anyway cheers for posting about this "glitch".

I feel like you're diminishing the effort and skill it takes to actually get the plat legit. I wouldn't say someone suck because they can't do it ;).

because the rarity will change now and if this glitch actually does what i think it does, hollow knight will go from a 9/10 to a 4/10 very fast.

I'm sorry but if you cannot beat Pure Vessel, or another boss, you don't really deserve the platinum. I don't understand why people would cheat to take credit for something they didn't do. Pure Vessel is now piece of cake for me thanks to a lot of practicing but Absolute Radiance is way to hard for me. It's ok. I won't have the platinum because I am not good enough. Fine. I am not going to pretend I realized a great performance when I know I just don't have the skill. It's just my opinion.

I would say that the glitch exists since 2018 and that kinda explains why there are so many platinums. Do not want to diminish anyone's effort, but it sits at ~7% for both regions even before this thread. It's more than a thousand people. I am very sceptical that this much people actually have the will and the skill for the task. Also, if you check the comments you can see that people confirmed that it works a months before.

My friend actually sent me this video almost a half of year ago, but I dismissed it as it "probably doesn't work for ps4". Oh, who knew. But now everyone knows, so I might as well use after completing the 4 pantheons.

I enjoyed this game so much, yet I suffered a lot with the last pantheon. Overall I gave this game a 7/10 in challenge, and could not understand how so many people had the platinum (the EU version wasn't UR already when I started playing). 

 

Now I understand, and I'm saddened to see such a beautiful and challenging game being exploited. Personally I don't see where the satisfaction in taking the easy way out is. I was so excited when I finally beat the pantheon, after many hours of practice, attempts and especially many setbacks... Would not have been the same without that effort, that's for sure.

Jesus, what a bunch of whiney elitists. It’s a video game, not a friggin’ college degree. If people want to use a glitch then that’s their business, it doesn’t affect you in any way.

 

If you got the platinum without using the glitch, then good for you, but also why are you even here? Move on to another game, you’re done here. Coming in here to complain about it and saying people don’t “deserve” the platinum is absolutely ridiculous and makes you sound like entitled brats.

I won't be using the cheat, I'd rather not have the platinum, but many people do not have many hours to practice. We have demanding jobs and families, so I can understand some people's temptation.

Well, I do have both as well, which is why it took me 2.5 months to get the platinum  I usually have 1-2 hours a day for gaming, but I prefer getting the platinum in such a fantastic game than getting 10+ platinums for less fun and less good games in the same time. It just comes down to personal preference.

It's a glitch/exploit. No different than playing certain FPS campaigns on easy then replaying the last level on the hardest difficulty and getting the trophy for it. Who cares?

I still don't see how that makes sense. "If you fail to activate the glitch you must reload because you can activate the glitch only once per reload" In what world does failing to activate the glitch means you activated the glitch.

I was just trying to be helpful and give more info to save someone else from wasting 15 mins like I had done.

I had never got "now, you must press quickly L1 for 2 times AND, in between the 2 times, you must also hold down X to charge the Super Dash" (the very first step in activating the glitch) to work once so how in hell are you supposed to know you've failed to activate the glitch.

Fair play to whoever worked this out, it is another useful exploit for anyone playing it who may be struggling with difficulty/time etc.

I was really shocked how many people achieved this trophy because I spend like 30-40h on mastering the difficulty bosses and of course failing like 2 times on the last 2 stages of Absolute Radiance. 

Its the same as classic mode in The Evil Within 2 they add cheats and you can still use them without voiding trophies. 

Do I care about rarity... nope. I always play games on hardest difficulty even if there no trophies/achievements for it. So no cheese for me

I do not think that comparing using the cheat code added by the developers is the same as using an overlooked glitch.

wait. can you use this cheat anywhere? say when in the mushroom forest area with poison water? or do you need to be in the expansion?

you can use it everywhere, but i recommend to use it ONLY on the 4th and 5th Pantheons, because the main game is very easy (even the White Castle).
