I personally haven't seen anything similar, but is it boring? Forget the mandatory 'trophy thoughts', I see I can do the grindy sell 1,000 cars easily in sandbox mode. I've also learnt the names of car parts and where they go so it's fairly educational. I now can at least point out where car parts are and have a greater understanding for how things piece together. It was pretty overwhelming at first but that doesn't last too long.
