I hope this doesn't mean Xbox Stick Layout like all the officially licensed 3rd Party PS4 "Pro" Controllers i read in this topic that it looks similar to the PS4 controller, they should stick with their design. I am not a fan of the flipped analogs myself. Hopefully they will chill out on the censorship too.

BlackSquirrell1
If they rethink the controller, please make the options button larger or do something else for that menu! Any ideas on what the cost will be ? $499? $599? (US)
GoldenShaka
I knew it, it couldn't be 2019 as many thought a couple of years ago. Tlou2 remastered on release, calling it now, no matter ps5 being retrocompatible with ps4.

I can understand people saying the vanilla PS4 is old. But the fucking PS4 Pro? Cmon, that still looks good especially with some of these newer PS4 exclusives. Yeah, but a lot of us don’t have the PS Pro. Did not see enough incentive to get it with a working regular PS4 and definitely do not now with a PS5 on the horizon.
snakebit10
Exciting news. I'm leaning towards getting it launch day. Can't wait to see the games.

Conor
I'm guessing it'll be at least $500 There's no way they could be packing all that power into something that costs anything less. Seriously considering making this my first ever Day One console buy. That and maybe even the Scarlett so long as Microsoft don't fook it up in the run up like they did the Xbox One
knightcthulhu
I’m thinking of selling my ps4 pro when it comes out and maybe the store will also have some kind of exchange deal

Vergil
I will wait for the next holiday after release and see how it turns out. Im still happy with my ps4 and have many games left.
DarkWolfTrucker
I wished they went to hybrid drives instead of SSD. Maybe do a PS5 with hybrid and PS5 Pro with SSD. Lowers the cost and keeps the consumers happy. For me it will come down to launch titles.
Golden Devil Gamer
99% sure it'll be USD $499. Considering the specs, $399 is too cheap. Unlike Nintendo, Sony can't afford selling consoles at a loss or minimal profit because they can't depend on the sales of first party games like Nintendo. Also, there's no way they're making the $599 mistake again.
GoldenShaka
Unless there's a few day 1 titles that blew my mind I'll get it during summer or fall 2021. 500 bucks or more will be launch price.
djb5f
I imagine there will be multiple price points. I bought the PS3 at launch for $499 I believe as I knew I would be replacing the HD at some point anyway and much prefer wired (faster, more dependable) to wireless. Were there multiple models for PS4 at launch? I bought a year into it and don’t recall.

AnEldritchThing
Ofcourse I am excited for it but I really want to see the launch line up. With TLOU Part 2 and Ghost of Tushima confirmed for PS4, I am really curious to what surprises they might be holding out on.

I get it, ssds boot faster and all but they lack space unless you're willing to pay tons of money. So this combined with the fact that games are now taking 100s of GB of space, seems to me like they're continuing the shitty practice of not giving you enough space and making you buy external hdds (or maybe they will include both an ssd and an hdd, highly doubtful though) Seems like yesterday they were making games that were 40 - 50 GBs in space. Now these games are taking over 100 GBs. Assassins Creed Odyssey from what I hear is in that neighborhood. Completely fucking ridiculous.

SnowxSakura
My price estimate is around 700 for a base model and 1,000 for a pro model considering its including an SSD and graphics processing with ray tracing

The single price point worked much better than the multiple price points of the PS3 - it allowed them to announce definitively the launch price with no confusion. My guess is they'll launch with one price point again for the PS5.
