agony painting bug blocking story progression?

so apparently the painting that crashes my game/corrupts my save is mandatory to progress through the level. its the painting underwater inside the tree of life. is there any fix to this? if not then the digital version is impossible to platinum.

 

okay so this is a serious problem. make a back up save just in case!!!

 

 i found a temporary fix. as soon as you finish examining the painting, immediately pause the game and wait for the save icon to disappear. once its finished saving, unpause and the game will still crash but your save will be intact but the painting is saved and the path is now open.
