Ultra Rare Cleanup 2020

Event Philosophy:

So, I don't know if any of you are like me, but I love the look and idea of a lot of games out there that have ultra rare platinums. I also love the idea of earning ultra rare platinums, my very first one was an ultra rare. Thus I end up purchasing some of these games with the intention of doing them. I just have a thing about wanting to be able to 100% anything I put on my profile (while it is currently low in completion, everything is perfectly attainable with some time). But when looking at some of these ultra rare and ultra hard lists, I get nervous to start them because I may just not have the skill to finish them.

So the point of this event is to take 10 or so ultra rare games that you (hopefully) already own but have not started (or maybe have not completed) and trying to earn all 10 of them in the coming year.

 

Rules:

1. Try to pick 10 games, more or less is acceptable, but I would say a minimum of 3 (5 is preferable) - Remember, this is to challenge yourself, there's no penalty for not finishing
2. You can start now, or wait until January 1st, the goal is to just tackle these games as much as you can by January 31st, 2021.
3. Try to format your games list similar to the one I have posted here in the OP (Also see Rule 7)
4. There isn't a set rule here on whether or not these games are shared with another event, just decide how much you want to push yourself.
5. You can join whenever, and truthfully, the end date is just to have one, push yourself and have fun
6. You can change your games list as you please, just tag me in your most recent one so I can set this post to link to it (work in progress)
7. When making you games list, try to add in what the trophy rarity is when you made your list, due to the potential of a game moving from Ultra to Very Rare, if you have a starting reference, it still counts
8. Try to avoid new releases when making your list, as the rarity will be skewed due to lack of time. It is okay to pick these games, just make sure they stable out into the Ultra Rare status for it to count
9. For long time members and joiners of events, let me know if there is something else I should add here

 

Eligible Games:
Anything that, at the time of your first post, has an Ultra Rare Platinum. 100%'s can be used as well, but if you are using those on a smaller list of games, I'd say shoot for under 2.00% of total people on that

 

Eligible Participants:

Literally everyone is welcome! No cheating, just have fun and push yourself ? This event is supposed to be fun and challenging

 

If someone wants to join in and make a banner and trophy images for this event that would be awesome! This is my first created post and my first time attempting to host and start something like this. Formatting suggestions and questions are always welcome!

 

But for now, I will give you my list:

Mortal Kombat X - Currently 1.96%   (0.99% for the 100%) - I've started this one and have a good chunk of it completed, at 61% with the DLC finished

 

Catherine Full Body - Currently 3.09%   - Just barely started this one at 2% completed 

 

Ikaruga - Currently 0.63% 

 

The Long Dark - Currently 1.07%   (New DLC out, so no 100% at the moment)

 

Kingdom Come:Deliverance - Currently 2.01%  (0.2% for the 100%)

 

Stardew Valley - Currently 0.82% 

 

Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remastered - Currently 0.92% 

 

Divinity Original Sin - Currently 2.08% 

 

Hollow Knight - Currently 3.95% 

 

Pier Solar and the Great Architects - Currently 1.08% 

Additions:

 

Jump Force - Currently 4.11% 

 

Muramasa Rebirth - Currently 2.81%  (0.66% for the 100%)

 

Beyond just trying to complete these games, if there are games that end up on your list that are lacking guides that could help others achieve the goal of completing some of these games, let's try and get guides out there for them. If you want to be bold and pick games solely because they don't have guides currently, more power to you and the best of luck!

Thx well besides having good reflexea and practice alot, not much else i can share. 

 

Ikaruga is different from regular shmups though. Its not your typical dodge and shoot. The 1cc trophies are not so bad bur the S++ trophies will push to your limit. Good luck on that one!

I'll join up with this. It will complement going into the end of the Weeblympics event which was about Japanese style UR plats in celebration of the Olympics in Japan next summer.  Maybe it will drive me forward in finishing more.  I'll post my list later tonight or tomorrow.

 

Another thing that might get more involvement is if you move this to the Community Events section? This is where things like this usually hang out and you may get more people participating.

Hello, you can choose whatever games you'd like. The idea is really to pick up any games you might already own that have ultra rare platinums, whether it be due to difficulty or length. There are no minimum requirements on how many games you need to pick or how many you need to finish truthfully. It's really about having fun and finishing some of those hard games you've always wanted to play!

Unravel 2.  Rarity: 1.98%. Personal progress: 16%

Worms Battlegrounds. : 1.31%. ?% trophies: 0.46%. Personal: 15% (DLC bought)

X-Morph Defense. : 4.84%. Personal: 0% (i fear it'll go to VR if i get this plat )

The Weeblympics is, I don't want to say dead, but sort of a self-motivated thing now. A few of us still post our completions on the thread but the OP seems to have gone offline (it started on 2017). Some of us continue to keep it alive with our completion posts but the activity has slowly dropped off. The anticipation was people would submit lists of 20+ eligible Japanese-themed(ish) UR plats to complete over a 3 year period ending at the kickoff of the 2020 Summer Games.  We started with about 30-40 participants but I think we are down to about 10-12 that still stay active.

Most of us just keep track of our own stats as the spreadsheet hasn't been updated in quite a while.

Go ahead and sign me up while you're at it! Lol. My suggestion would be to have a participant list with their selected games or at the very least, have it say 0/3 or 0/5 (or however many games are listed) and keep the OP updated. I think there's a few people here who are artistic that can provide a banner or emblems for earning URs.

I will definitely look at organizing the participant list a little more, as you have suggested. I tried creating a hyperlink that would jump you to a person's original post to see their list, but I couldn't quite figure it out. I'm currently getting ready for work, but I will try to work on the OP tonight and tomorrow as time allows. I'm glad so many people have already hopped on board! This will be great motivation.

It's easier to do it on a computer than phone, but you should be able to drop someone's name under hyperlink or something like that and you can put a link in there and mask it to have everyone's forum name on it. I think it'd be cool to have everyone's first post linked instead of their profile though. You could always do check marks next to the name to signify how many URs they've earned. Probably less maintenance on your end.

Good luck everyone, but I'm not joining (seeing my progress on Weeblympic, it will be pointless to join this.. Still I will be getting my UR at the sidelines, since I plan to plat FighterZ next weekend, and still want to at least get Dissidia plat before the Weeblympic end, doubt that I will get more than those.. Maybe Caligula Effect or Modnations, or LBP vita, LBP3, or Blazblue Central Fiction, but I see my UR progress being really slow in the next years..).

I'm considering joining. I'm going to be a little busy for a while, so I won't have the time to commit to this fully until much later.

 

 Anyway, I have a few questions.

1. Are people allowed to join anytime they want before January 21st, 2021 or do you have to join before a certain date that's not January 21st, 2021?
2. Are participants allowed to make additions to their original list?
3. What is you favorite flavor of pudding?
