I was going to add MeiQ as well but it seems to have ticked up to VR at some point, which is kind of annoying. This is more of a cleanup list than anything else, but I would rather get some of the UR platinums on my trophy list already completed before adding a whole bunch more on.

 

I'll try and start this sometime after KYC 11 concludes, so in December.

1. You can join anytime between now and January 1st, 2021. This event is more about having fun and taking on the challenges you may have wanted to set for yourself but haven't actually started or finished. I don't want the rules to be too strict as to run people off from joining, the idea of aiming at around 10 UR platinums in a year is scary enough to the average hunter, haha.

2. You can make additions to or change your list as you please throughout the course of the event, I see no issues with that. If you took a look at my profile, which was started as a 100% account, you can see that sometimes you're just not in the mood for the game like you thought you were. (I'll get around to all of them I swear)

3. Truthfully, I really like vanilla pudding a lot. Thank you for asking.

Thank you all so much for joining. I really didn't expect this to jump off to such a good start that quickly. I've been pretty busy with work, with Call of Duty and Outer Worlds coming out (I work at a game store). I believe I have the day off tomorrow so I will take time then to work on the OP to get everyone's name in there and figure out the hyperlink situation so that you or anyone can jump to someone's goal list post. I will also be taking time to use suggestions that have been made for formatting the main post so the block of text is more broken up into sections. This is my first time creating a thread, let alone a whole event, so please feel free to offer as much constructive criticism as possible. It is much appreciated.

If you indeed add a game, I suggest adding Spelunky. The game is fun as hell and replayable. I replay it almost on a daily basis. It's easy once you get the hang of it, and of course if you stay focused.

Actually have a couple of questions.  One person mentioning that one of their choices went up to a very rare brought to mind the fact that what if someone's pick does end up turning into a very rare.  Is there going to be something in place where someone can lock in a choice in case something does change to very rare during the year?

 

Also, would I be correct that you would probably prefer that a game has been out for at least a month?  New games, especially longer ones, can sit at UR for a time, like right now Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is a UR plat with a 0.44% rarity, but it just released on the 22nd.  I know very well it won't stay there, but it probably will still be UR when I get the plat.

So one of my personal goals is to Plat the Ultra Rare Alphabet. I have already platted the Alphabet normally, and this year I plan on platting the Alphabet in 1 day...so next year I am going to finally finish the Ultra Rare Alphabet

 

I need H, K, Q, U, W, X, Y, Z

Hello, I made some additions to the rules to let new comers to the event know the answers to these questions. If you can, state the current rarity of a game when making your list, that way there is a reference for when you started. If a game is below 5% at the start, you are good and the game will count towards this event. We all are tackling UR games after all. If this event picks up and people actually complete their lists, we are bound to move at least a small number of games for UR to VR.

 

And to your second question, I would stray from picking a game that is brand new while also looking at the judgement from the above answered question. While you can certainly add it and keep track of the rarity, or add it down the line, I would say for the rarity to be set a game like that needs anywhere from 3-6 months. I could be wrong on the time frame though. But Legend of Heroes is a pretty big game, so you can add it and just keep it updated on the rarity. There is a good chance it stays UR for awhile just due to the length of those games. Persona 4 Golden did.

 [Vita] Rainbow Moon (4.85%) - Currently playing with 41/53 trophies earned, 61% complete. I've still got quite a long way to go, hopefully it'll hold onto it's UR status by the time I finish it. 

 

  Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition (4.24%) - Pretty good progress already with this one at 22/31 trophies earned, 50% complete. Just have to watch & worry over unlocking the "nice" events & everything else should come naturally playing out the rest of the years. 

 

 [Vita] Deception IV: Blood Ties (1.00%) - My love/hate relationship with this game never ends. I struggle with the missions a couple times a year before getting frustrated & throwing it back on the shelf. It's not the elaborate short time ones that give me trouble. It's the ones with numerous enemies; where some come right at you, others run for the exit, & others have ranged weapons. Besides the missions, I'll need to finish up demon requests in the story mode. 35/41 trophies earned, 80% complete. 

 

Tales of Symphonia (2.72%) - Not started. It's been sitting in my backlog for at least 2+ years, time to change that. 

 

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky (3.06%) - Not started. Almost started it for a KYC at the beginning of the year, then swapped it out at the last minute. I've really wanted to play it for awhile now, so I won't pass it up again. 

 

 

Just going for these 5 at the moment. When I finish one, I'll add another in it's place.

Currently been working on VVVVVV and Mortal Kombat recently. So should have 1 of them knocked out in the next month or so I guess.

 

First update regarding my games.

 

I've been working through badlands and got up to 39% completion on that. I've mastered 4/30 characters for the last trophy in MK as well. I'm also practicing the last time trial on VVVVVV, but I only play that on the train to work and during work breaks sometimes, so I guess progress will be kinda slow with it. Especially for no death mode.
