PSN Avatar keeps going back to default after EVERY sync

Nowadays whenever I want to sync my trophies, my PSN avatar goes back to the default smiley avatar. I know I could just go to avatars and select my avatar then but it's becoming a giant pain in the ass to do it after literally every single sync.

Happens all the time to me, more of a nuisance on this account because it's an alt so I don't log into it super frequently and don't have a seperate PS4 user for it (I just log in as guest). Doesn't seem to be a way to stop it, just ranomly happens :/

I've noticed this happening to a few different accounts on my PS4 but has, so far, not affected my main account.

My avatar resets to default randomly (not with every sync). I don't even bother doing anything to it anymore. Once my avatar returned on its own too after like a month.

It baffles me how a simple function like displaying a user's avatar normally is beyond Sony's capabilities. No other service ever has lost a profile picture.

Happened to me today as well. When I got home, I expected the avatar on my PS4 to have reverted to default, but it hadn't. So I chose another one, then put my usual back again and re-synced here on PSNP, and all's fine for now. Weird, though.
