Saint Lucia's Day (December 13th): Beyond: Two Souls

Las Posadas (December 16th - December 24th): Mooseman

Winter Solstice (December 21st):  Wolverine

Hanukkah (December 22nd - December 30th): Up

Still trying to figure out which game will be my Thanksgiving category. Also, not 100% in love with some of my choices, just could not come up with a stronger option. Saint Lucia and Las Posadas in particular. May scout other lists for new ideas. :)

Thanksgiving - Omega Quintet  (40%)

Black Friday - TBD

Saint Lucia's Day - London Detective Mysteria (1%)

Las Posadas - Wizards of Brandel (releases 12/3)

Winter Solstice - Nothing yet

Hannukah - TBD

Christmas - Asdivine Kamura :platinum:

Kwanzaa - Cosmic Star Heroine :platinum:

Boxing Day - Nothing yet

New Year's Day - TBD

Found a suitable game for Saint Lucia's Day.  Anything TBD on my list means I have possible choices and just haven't decided, the Nothing yets are ones that I can't think of anything I own that fits.  Completing three games won't be a problem though since London Detective Mysteria is a VN and should be pretty easy.  Main character is a girl who just made her debut in society, so she's still pretty young.

Currently playing Batman: The Enemy within so I will note that down for Boxing Day.

Just want to ask @SpaceCoresDad if I can retrospectively count Days gone for Christmas, I got the Plat when the event started and would like to use it for Christmas, Theres a group called the Rippers which follow their own religion plus a Major Antagonist also references the bible a lot. would this be ok?

Does anybody else have trouble loading this thread on a Firefox browser? Maybe it's just me...

Anyway, shuffle time. After playing through it, I've decided Cosmic Star Heroine isn't the best fit for Saint Lucia's Day. I assumed at the time that Alyssa was as young as the main character in every game this was clearly based on, but she's at least old enough to drink and get into night clubs. I'm going to slip this one under Black Friday instead, as you spend most of the game travelling from town to town and spending your credits on weapon upgrades and new recruits for your ship. Most of which are useless. Just like most of the stuff you buy on Black Friday.

Thanksgiving - Mark of the Ninja: Remastered - 100%

Black Friday - Cosmic Star Heroine - 56%

Saint Lucia's Day -

Las Posadas - Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden - 22%

Winter Solstice - Frost - 100%

Hanukkah -

Christmas -

Kwanzaa - Broken Age - 100%

Boxing Day - Batman: Arkham City - 83%

New Years Day -

I should be able to get the bonus badge on Friday, as I'm certainly not leaving the house that day.

A little update from my part with some games added in. New additions include Hanukkah and Boxing Day.

Thanksgiving (November 28th) - Dark Souls Remastered. I am grateful what From Software brought to games and influenced games that are made today.
Black Friday (November 29th) -
Saint Lucia's Day (December 13th) - Bioshock 2. Little sisters play a big part in Bioshock.
Las Posadas (December 16th - December 24th) - Crossing Souls. You travel along with your friends and go on an adventure.
Winter Solstice (December 21st) -
Hanukkah (December 22nd - December 30th) - Spyro the Dragon. Who doesn't love our little Dragon Friend Spyro?
Christmas -
Kwanzaa (December 26th - January 1st) -
Boxing Day - Mortal Kombat 11 a game designed around fighting what more can be said.
New Years Day -

I think this will be my list. Some games take quite long and it is a relatively short running event. If I manage to complete them all I try to add more games along the way!

Also I am one trophy of DS remastered. It is thanksgiving tommorow so I should complete my first game tommorow with the bonus included.

Thanksgiving: Project Diva F2nd.  :platinum:

Black Friday: Metal Wolf Chaos XD.

Saint Lucia's Day: Lollipop Chainsaw.

Las Posadas: Journey.

Winter Solstice: Metro 2033.

Hanukkah: Tearaway. It's cute and wholesome.

Christmas: Unless I can think of anything else, I'll do a God of War title.

Kwanzaa: Assassin's Creed Liberation.

Boxing Day: Skullgirls Encore. (100%)

New Years Day: Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight

It's finally Thanksgiving so I was finally able to pop the Project Diva F2nd plat! Four years and 11 months in the making and 69 1/2 hours total playtime, the game was great but I just never bothered with the grind until now (which the Diva Room grind was at least a half of the game because of needing 78 requests!). I'm thankful for Vocaloids and how it's impacted my life and I'm thankful that the grind is over. I also managed to get Lollipop Chainsaw ready to plat, just waiting for Saint Lucia's Day to leap over a zombie 10 times in a row and I'll be all set!

Completed: 2

Completed on the holiday: 1

Ready to be completed: 1

US Thanksgiving (Nov 28th) - Clan of Champions :platinum:

Lb347ee.png

I picked this game up super cheap quite a while ago and started it recently. I certainly wasn't expecting much and the game is presented horribly but once I got into it I found the combat mechanics to be quite fun and the cheesy cut scene bits constantly cracked me up. I don't think they were trying to be funny but even after farming missions for gold and gear a chittering skeleton would always make me smile. The PvP was a grind that needed to be boosted because this game is deader than dean but overall I found myself really liking this game even though it is objectively bad.

I'm thankful I was able to grab the plat today and make it my 150th no less. I'm thankful the online component still works for this game from 2012 that was by all accounts DOA. I'm thankful I had a great boosting buddy to go through the game with, busting on the game's goofiness the whole time. :awesome:

I would recommend if you like the movies, don't mind the price and enjoy shorter experiences. Enjoyable story and gameplay that didn't overstay it's welcome. A perfect game to buy on Black Friday, complete then put away forever just like most of the things bought on this salute to commercialism.

I want to change some games, I tried them on my secondary account and I can't put myself throw them

Now they are:

Black Friday - Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars, you need to collect a lot of studs and spend them on items .

Kwanzaa - The Wolf Among Us, I need to know if I can put this game here. The character isn't completely black, more of a dark skin color

I'd never even heard of this game and just looked it up and it looks neat!  May grab it during the Black Friday sale

Well, the story was complete garbage, but Cosmic Star Heroine is finished -- on Black Friday! I've also started a proper Saint Lucia's Day game. Arkham City is as close to being finished as it could be (just need to talk to Calendar Man on Christmas for the plat/100%). All in all, a fairly successful beginning to Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanksgiving - Mark of the Ninja: Remastered - 100%

Black Friday - Cosmic Star Heroine - 100%

Saint Lucia's Day - Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout - 4%

Las Posadas - Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden - 22%

Winter Solstice - Frost - 100%

Hanukkah -

Christmas -

Kwanzaa - Broken Age - 100%

Boxing Day - Batman: Arkham City - 98%

New Years Day -

US Thanksgiving (Nov 28th) - Clan of Champions :platinum:(BONUS)
Black Friday (Nov 29th) - Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms :platinum:

This F2P AD&D game is kind of like a meta RPG. Waves of enemies charge your party who automatically attack in response while you collect monies from defeated enemies to level up your party and add new members. It's sheer number porn, everything scales exponentially, including the money you receive from enemies and the money you need to buy levels. There's an option to express numeric values in scientific notation which I found to be the easiest mode to look at considering the amounts you'll be seeing. There's one trophy for having earned 1e40 (10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) gold and you'll have spent it all and that wasn't even the last trophy I got.

I knew I picked the right game when I fired it up and there was a button advertising the in game black friday sale on loot boxes. I only had one trophy left to grab within the time frame of this event but it was a giant grind, complete 250 free plays. I hadn't completed 100 free plays by the time I was finished doing everything else. Sadly I popped the plat 15 minutes too early to get the bonus for this one.

Due to well, lack of skill, I'm changing up my titles.  I also may update this as I receive birthday and Christmas games

Thanksgiving: Amnesia.  It was one of the first visual novels I played (on the PC) and now I absolutely love them

Black Friday: -
Saint Lucia’s Day: -
Las Posadas:  Horizon Zero Dawn.  Not sure I can get it done in time but I can try
Winter SolsticePsychedelica of The Ashen Hawk.  It has snow all over the cover so I assume it has a winter theme
Hanukkah: -
Christmas: -
Kwanzaa: -
Boxing Day: -
New Years DayPeriod: Cube.  Might as well!

Wanted to give a heads up on Period Cube. I would warn that if themes of incest bother you or isn't your thing to definitely make heavy use of skip on two routes.  I'll put them in a spoiler tag below since both have to be unlocked and neither of the characters is obviously it.  I think its worth a warning because it is a theme that bothers many people.  For the non-spoiler version of what to avoid, the ones you unlock last are the problem ones.

Spoiler

Zain and Poyo-Poyo's routes contain themes of incest since both of them are the protag's brother technically.   I was honestly disturbed by both of them and I didn't even think Toma's route in Amnesia was that bad even if it wasn't my cup of tea as far as romances go.

And an update for me:

Thanksgiving - Omega Quintet  (40%)

Black Friday - TBD

Saint Lucia's Day - London Detective Mysteria (81%)

Las Posadas - Wizards of Brandel (releases 12/3)

Winter Solstice - Code Realize: Wintertide Miracles (0%)

Hannukah - Punch Line (7%)

Christmas - Asdivine Kamura :platinum:

Kwanzaa - Cosmic Star Heroine :platinum:

Boxing Day - Nothing yet

New Year's Day - TBD

Have the plat ready for London Detective Mysteria, which was one of the better Otome games I've played on PSN.  I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who liked Code Realize because it's got a similar deal of romancing famous literary characters, except here it's the kids of those characters.  On top of that your character solves various cases while trying to find clues regarding the murder of her parents.  Every route was delightful and all I have left is the epilogue for the true ending route now.  Going to try to save the plat for the 13th.

And thanks to Gamestop's Black Friday sale I got Code Realize: Wintertide Miracles for free which should make a good choice for Winter Solstice.  Also adding Punch Line for Hannukah because it's basically a comedy game that I'd describe as Ghost Trick with panties.

Otherwise I'm still lacking in something for boxing day. Most of the games I play just might have a character who fights hand to hand, but that's about it and doesn't feel like enough.

Hey all! Sorry for the absence, but this time of year was preeeetty hectic for me, haha. All is well now though! And we can get back to our regularly scheduled updates.

Congrats to everyone who completed the bonus already! I've marked it on the chart with a yellow square instead of green, just to reward you for your fun achievement. Hope everyone is enjoying the challenge so far!
