An Unfortunate Failed Game

Been playing evolve to clean up some trophies and improve my overall completion percentage. I bought the game when it first came out and havent played in a while and of course the matchmaking servers are down. But wow, I feel like this is a great game, like the game play is so solid. Why did it crash and burn so badly?

Not enough content at launch.

Poorly supported on console shortly after

All the Day One DLC

Season Pass that still didn't give you everything

A monster cost $10-15

An interesting premise but executed very, very poorly. Given its business model, I'm glad it crashed and burned.

Oh yeah I remember the DLC controversy this game had. Yeah glad it didn't fly, but makes me sad for the developers.

You saw all of the content within the first hour, then it was tedium central for the next god knows how many hours until you had all the trophies :(. Apparently, the post 2.0 F2P version on PC was actually a fairly decent game but 2K couldn't be bothered to release it on console so we never got it. There was a germ of a good idea in Evolve but the implementation was atrocious and drove away a lot of the player base so it was virtually dead within 3 months.
