Smoke Grenade in the Back of a Jeep Exploit

When I platted the PS3 on 2016 I discovered that when throwing a smoke grenade in the back of a jeep I could drive the jeep without being detected thus allowing me to quickly reach any area without the need to face the enemy. 

 

I tried this on the PS4 version but the smoke grenade that I throw in the back of the jeep always falls to the floor preventing me from using the exploit explained above. Does anybody know if that was patched?

 

Never mind, I just restarted the mission and the trick worked this time, maybe I wasn't throwing the smokes grenades correctly or they simply glitched.
