New Casino Heist DLC Coming December 12th

It's annoying to me that the first time I played this game was 6 years ago on PS3 and 5 years ago on PS4, but this crap will inevitably get more trophies and probably require an investment in shark cards to assist in doing trophies. I do just hope they stick to a similar formula as the original heist pack, the Masterminds trophy was pathetic in the Doomsday heist, especially when it required you to do the same shit with 3 different groups.

 

I think this video perfectly summarizes my feelings about GTA V getting new DLC trophies...

Yeah, i can't wait to have to drive 4 cars from Los Santos to Paleto Bay even if we are only going to use two in a two-man run. And doing it in public mode with 10-years old riding flying bikes and throw rockets when i'm 10 meters away from the objective

That's why we always used empty public lobbies for the preps, to avoid that headache.

I don't believe they will count for that trophy. The awards from normal heists (2015) did count, but Doomsday Heist had it's own section with awards

Doomsday platinums do count towards the decorated trophy, a friend I was helping had his pop after we finished the doomsday scenario

I don't think they do. Maybe your friend completed a challenge from the general or combat section. One of the people i did Doomsday with, had over 30 plat awards if he added the ones from Doomsday and didn't get decorated.

Decorated is very easy with the 2015 update. I had 30 awards before that and over 40 after doing the normal heist trophies

Watching people who care about completion percentage whine like their meaningless number is more important than millions of peoples enjoyment just fills my heart with so much joy.

 

I can't wait till the new Shovel Knight trophies pop up tomorrow and watch the salt levels skyrocket around here. It's so delicious lol.

The particularly annoying thing about this game getting new trophies is that they're not solo friendly and most trophy hunters have moved on from GTA V. So when the content comes, I won't have many friends who are interested in it because it's been years since they bothered with GTA V. But regardless of what pops up, I'll have time for it eventually and get it done, but it is annoying when I moved on from the game a long time ago and wanted nothing more to do with it, to then see that they are going to add this crap that will inevitably have trophies. The game is definitely big enough for this content to be a success without tacked on trophies, so I don't get why it has to have them, the trophy hunters are barely a market for the game and will use exploits to cheat their way through it for the most part.

Believe it or not, there are non trophy hunters who see trophies as an extra thing to chase in content that they're enjoying, and having them there gives them that. There's just as much of an argument for them to be there as for them not to be. 

 

Just be thankful that they don't add trophies for every expansion instead of worrying about the ones they do lol. Cause it could be ALOT worse.

It depends on what they try to add as trophies because I did enjoy the first heist pack except for the part where you have to spend $8million on vehicles that are part of that pack. I wouldn't enjoy another Elitist and Masterminds requirement if they decide they want to go down that route. At least if it is like the original pack, you can do the runs with random people through matchmaking, whereas a Mastermind run requires the same people to stick around and be committed to the same goal as you.

To be honest, even though the game is old, it doesn't seem hard to find dedicated people for the trophies. Maybe I got lucky, but I started the online trophies 2 months ago, and it didn't take long to find a good group of 3 other people to work on all the DLC trophies, even though my country's trophy hunter community (France) is obviously much smaller than the english-speaking communities. And now we have all the trophies except one : we just started working on the "Criminal Masterminds" trophy (... and we already got our progress reset once, thank you for the bugs Rockstar !)

 

Anyway I hope there will be new trophies with this DLC, but that the requirements (for the trophies themselves, but also to start the DLC missions - no Casino penthouse or other things that cost several millions please) will be reasonable. Looking forward to it !

When they're on forums and twitter screaming THIS DLC SHOULDNT EXIST, IT'S HURTING MY PERCENTAGES, STOP MAKING DLC FOR THIS OLD GAME!!!! That's them actively trying to take away something I enjoy. That's them actively trying to effect my life in a negative way. If I want to take joy in the fact that they fail at it, that's my business.

As for myself, trophy completion is my primary hobby, it doesn't really matter much your opinion on what I choose my hobby to be, I don't really see why you'd look down on what I enjoy occupying my spare time with.

  Unrelated to that, I find it a bit low when games that I've moved on from for years spring new Very High-skill level trophies on me.  New trophies aren't bad themselves, but trophies that entail I'd have to grind a game for a very long period of time, or reacquire a very high level of mastery for an old game just to pull of another Mastermind-Elitist,  it's a bit disappointing.  As a seasoned trophy hunter, it becomes easy which trophies are designed for the playerbase's genuine entertainment and which trophies are busy-work targetted at the fraction of the playerbase who will care for that, and I don't believe those types of trophies should be retroactively added sparingly. It's easy to tell when a company is just trying to fetch the trophy hunter community by designing trophies that are way out of the way of the average player, on games that have been collecting dust for a majority of people for months or years. It is indeed up to people then to chose whether to do it or not,  but it doesn't make it less disappointing and people are free to express how they feel about that.

Saw you post later about people harassing forums and twitter etc.   Obviously I wouldn't do that, those people are too invested evidently.  But those people posing those actions doesn't take away from how I feel about this practice either.

All the heists have had in-game challenges for which you could get medals in the options menu (if I remember correctly). Since the challenges already exist, there is absolutely no need to attach trophies to them in order to force trophy hunters back into the game after all those years. As a gamer, I think it's great they keep adding content. As a trophy hunter, I hate them for "forcing" me back into the game by adding trophies, since it's completely unnecessary.

Really hoping there's no new trophies for this update after spending 80+ hours getting the doomsday heist trophies especially with the big backlog of games I want to get through. My trophy list is still saying 100% so nothing has been added yet.
