Cassylvania
The man, the myth, the legend. Fat man Oskar rolls into the competition and puts us one step closer to a badge. Next up: a huge stretch to one of the remaining categories. Lose the Weight - Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book Update Relationship Status - Dragon's Lair Trilogy ? Popular Post SpaceCoresDad
After a long, difficult month where not many games were played, I finally got another one down. Lose the Weight - Death Stranding Focus on Family - inFamous First Light Go to the Gym - God of War III Get a Better Job - Valiant Hearts: The Great War Make More Money - Need For Speed Payback There's a trophy in this that literally uses the word "grind" to get more speed cards, and if that's not enough, I definitely needed to grind up some cash to afford the Regera. That thing was expensive. Fun game, though I'm actual hot garbage at racing games, so that will likely be my first and last platinum in the NFS franchise unless something is REALLY easy. Still, it's good to go out of your comfort zone every now and again I think. With that I believe I'm eligible for the badge! I'll try to keep going with the theme, see if I can get up to 10 in a month, though I doubt it. Oh well, five was all I was really going for anyway. Hope everyone else has been having fun so far!

Popular Post Fnee2000
Since The Sims 4 was okay’ed for the Finish Your Masterpiece category, I will use that for my list. So another category down. I am still curious if inFamous would qualify for the Go to the Gym. One would have to think Cole MacGrath would be quite muscular in his upper body under that jacket with all of the climbing he does. Any thoughts @eigen-space or @Jens? Lose the Weight - Sly 2 Band of Thieves (PS3) - Murray Focus on Family - Life is Strange 2 (PS4) - The tale of brothers Sean and Daniel Update Relationship Status - Hakuoki : Stories of the Shinsengumi (PS3) - a VN with several relationship options Go to the Gym - Find Time For Yourself - Path of Sin : Greed (PS4) - lots of mini games mixed with hidden object puzzles Get a Better Job - Beyond : Two Souls (PS3) - Jodie Holmes is a CIA operative and you go on missions doing her job Finish Your Masterpiece - The Sims 4 (PS4) - expert writer/painter Volunteer More - Far Cry 3 (PS3) - lots of side quests and side missions Do Better in School - South Park : The Stick of Truth (PS3) - South Park Elementary School Make More Money - Lego The Lord of the Rings (PS3) - collect 10,000,000,000 studs Edited February 27, 2020 by Fnee2000

Popular Post Cassylvania
In what was a surprisingly good game, I have finished Star Wars: Fallen Order. It fits in the school category because Cal has flashbacks to his time as a young Padawan. Plus, dude apparently needs to relearn all his Jedi skills throughout the game. I forgot everything I learned in school too. Lose the Weight - Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book Update Relationship Status - Dragon's Lair Trilogy Finish Your Masterpiece - Dragon Quest Builders 2 Volunteer More - Kingdom Come: Deliverance Do Better in School - Star Wars: Fallen Order Also, I wish I had known Cal wears a poncho throughout most of the game. That would've made drawing him a lot easier.
Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
It's time for another weekly update from me. Last weekend the plan was to finish Man of Medan.I tried but failed to do that. I worked on it, but messed up something with the saves and had trouble going back for certain collectibles. After wasting a couple of hours loading and reloading saves trying to figure it out, I gave up and decided I'd just need to replay the game from the start with collectibles in mind. It's annoying, but it is what it is. For the rest of the week, I had plans to play Atelier Firis and Dark Souls. I ended up only playing Dark Souls though. My main co-op buddy @gruffiiti was available to play pretty much every night this week, so I never ended up taking the disk out to play the other game. Dark Souls is done now though. It's my fifth game of the event, so I've earned my badge! Weekend Goal: Anthem and Man of Medan: Both games just need collectibles finished. Weekday Goal: Atelier Firis - Make it all the way through the story to the point that Firis is ready to take the final alchemist exam. - Lose Weight - Dark Souls - 61% >>> - Focus on Family - Cat Quest - ? - Update Relationship Status - Man of Medan - 73% >>> 79% - Go to the Gym - AC Odyssey - 17% - Find Time for Yourself - Anthem - 91% - Find a Job - Valiant Hearts - ? - Finish Your Masterpiece - Beat Saber - 82% - Volunteer More - Days Gone - - Do Better in School - Atelier Firis - 9% - Make More Money - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands - Edited February 28, 2020 by spacey_dweeb

Spacey_Dweeb
On 2/27/2020 at 4:13 AM, Jens said: And with Yakuza... weirdly enough so far Yakuza 3 is the only Yakuza game I've played I can NOT see in "Get a Better Job". Eigen's reasoning for that category is "If the character gets a pay check for doing that, it's a job and therefore it fits the category". I don't believe that he gets payed for running his orphanage, it's surely "just" a honorary service he provides closer to charity than a day job. Even the whole Yakuza thing isn't really a job in this one too, it's more or less just happenstance. Can you clarify why Yakuza 3 wouldn't work? I haven't actually played it, I don't know what's actually involved with the orphanage. So take this with a grain of salt, but your reasoning for rejecting it seems flawed. You said The Evil Within was fine because of the fact the character is responding to a scene as a detective is part of the story and being a detective is a job where you get a paycheck. Other than the paycheck, what's different in Yakuza 3 where managing the orphanage is central to pieces of the plot? Also, nowhere in the rules does Eigen mention a paycheck. Charity work is still work. Kiryu has "a job to they attend to during the game." As an occasional hospital ER volunteer in real life, I have experience in this area. When I volunteer, I have commitments to the hospital. I have a role and responsibilities and the hospital management is relying on me to fill those. I wear a uniform. I have a schedule, I have an ID card, I represent the company. My presence, or lack thereof, affects forecasting, staff scheduling, etc. I'm not just a bonus or a perk when I show up. I don't get to show up and just fart around. I have specific things I need to be doing, policies I have to adhere to, and procedures I need to be following, If I don't, I can be fired, just the same as a real employee. The paycheck changes very little about the equation and I think of it the same as my actual job.

MarkusT1992
Im going to submit Detroit: Become Human for the Find a better job theme. Connor's purpose is to investigate crimes involving androids which should count as a job even though he's not human. Should that not count I'll use it for Finish your Masterpiece.
