Feral
Definitely not. Probably won't get one until 2022 unless it has some unmissable games coming next year. Besides I've gotta get through my PS3 backlog before adding a new console to the mix.
milanbarca82
Nope. Learned my lesson with the PS4. The low number of interesting games, at least for me, during the first two years of the PS4 lifetime was so unbearable I played PS3 and Vita the most. It became much better from 2016 onward, though. steel6burgh
Why not? I know i'm not going to be able to hold out until it drops in price and it is backwards compatible so i might as well buy it day one or as close as i can get it to day one without having to camp out some place for two days to get it.
UncleJacksPS
Absolutely, I still use my day one PS4 to this day! I barely have touched my 2nd PS4 which is a newer model. Maybe has like 30 hours of gameplay on it. I always buy day 1 and have honestly never had any issues with any console I've bought day one. I also take extreme care of my gaming stuff as well. I have even left it on for months at a time until it has to shut down for an update
ShadowSkill
No, will wait for the pro version and see any games i am interested. Kishnabe
I will wait for the Slim Version, after they cleaned the Knots out of the system. Probably get it around a Black Friday with a Good Bundle of PS5 games.
Popular Post NullSpace84
Yep, barring calamity, I'm there. I've never before purchased a console at launch, but the 5's immediate backward compatibility will ensure that I can play my PS4 backlog for a couple of years on a fresh console - doubly so since my PS4 has begun to exhibit signs of overuse. ^^;; I've worn the poor girl out, I have. If the 5 actually includes 1-2-3 compatibility? Well, then, shucks, it'll be like I gained access to a PlayStation PC/museum, of sorts, and will be delighted. But yeah, this go-round, I've decide I very much want in.

Mori
According to rumours, Sony wants to focus on exclusive PS5 titles from the get-go. I definitely will buy the PS5 on launch, BC and more power is reason enough. Its a nice bonus if good exclusive titles release aswell. I just hope they wont release an upgraded console too soon after the inital launch of the PS5 Edited January 14, 2020 by Mori
Vega
Only if i we get a godly backward compatibility, otherwise probably gonna wait some years for a price drop/better model/stability

True, but if you replace one of them with a PS5, you'll still end up having one box under your TV. ^^
LOL_Jokke97
If bundled with a new Assassins Creed, then yes.
Conor
I've never done a Day One buy for various reasons, majority of which have been covered by people above, all of which are very good and understandable reasons. But the PS5 might be the first time I do so, because even though I was always overall content to wait 6-18 months, there was always a little pang of jealousy for friends who were early adopters. So I may just trade in that jealousy for a nice measure of buyer's remorse instead. Also, Sony absolutely killed it this generation and I've been having a blast since switching back to PS so I'm happy to support them. I'll have a shiny new console to brag about and if I need to wait on some kinks to be resolved I have a massive backlog to keep me busy in the meantime.
dany4k_93
Most likely no, because at launch there are not that many great games that justify spending 400/500$ on a brand new system, while I still have lots of game I want to complete on my PS4. Probably gonna wait for a PS5 Slim just like I did with my PS4 Slim.
Legchomper
This year I plan to re-do my bedroom, along with buying a 4K TV. If I do all that and still have money to spare without Christmas then I'll probably get it depending on the games with it. I waited a bit before getting the PS4. Hakoom
OFC i dont see any reason why not too.. since its also backward compatible.. upgrading is always a good option day -1
Velvet
Yeah, it'll be a day one buy, but I'll still hold on to the PS4. If the backwards compatibility rumors are true, then awesome because I'll be able to pack up and put in storage the PS3s and PS4s a lot sooner and just use 1 system for them all. But we'll see. For now, I shall remain the clutterfuck console hoarder I was born to be.

Valyrious
I most likely will. The older I get, the more hungry I am for new technology. I can unload my PS4 Pro while it still has value, making it a lot more affordable. The loading of older games is a reason by itself for me to get it. I'm not really worried about console issues, since I buy every new Playstation console nowadays anyway.
Lezonidas
If there's a Demon's Souls Remake, yes, probably. If not, then I'm not buying it until holidays 2021 or summer 2022
ZoutjeNL
Depends on the lineup. So far we barely know anything about games, except games that are also playable on PS4. I don't have a PS4 Pro so I would like the upgrade for that, but we will see.
GT__Jedi
Depends on when it actually releases. Black Friday or a nice bundle will convince me to get the cash out.
