I can't begin to tell you the amount of error messages I get sometimes on my PS4 Pro, games just close by themselves followed by an error message, things not loading, things crashing etc. And yet I've never had any of that with my Xbox, the Xbox just "works" and runs beautifully. Playstation has such a terrible architecture and infrastructure when compared to Xbox, it's not even in the same league. Love or hate Xbox but xbox is such a more robust console in architecture and infrastructure and OS compared to Playstation. All I'll say is if the PS5 is anything like the PS4 and has anything like those problems, that's bad really bad and unacceptable for the power it's going to have. I have no doubt the next Xbox will be better in all those aspects, always has and always will be better. I've gotten that angry about it I've came very close to just jumping to Xbox entirely because I've had enough of it. My original PS4 was louder than a jet engine out of the box and practically unusable IMO. When I check a friend's trophy list, show me theirs first, not the games we share first. Trophy progress tracker (since almost no devs put them in-game). Online play should be free. I already bought the game, now I need to pay a fee to fully use it? Or even play it at all in some cases? Ef that. The store should not be running in the background at all times. I'd rather wait a few seconds if I buy something from a game than have my home screen be all laggy. Being able to gift games to friends. What's the point of a Christmas sale if I can only buy shit for myself? Wishlist that notifies me when they go on sale. Sony already tracks things like how long we've played each game in the background since they do those end of year wrap up things, so there's no good reason why this information shouldn't be readily available to us. Not only should we be able to see hours played on our own profiles, but on other people's too. Trophies don't tell the whole story after all. But speaking of trophies, like others have already mentioned, a trophy tracker similar to what Xbox has would be amazing. One of the worst things in trophy hunting is when you're working towards a trophy like "Do X 50 times", but there's no in-game tracker, so you either have to track it manually, or just keep going and hope it eventually pops. I believe Xbox also has a Gamerscore Leaderboard that compares the amount of Gamerscore you earned in comparison to your friends each month. While I think this could be a cool feature for PlayStation trophies too, with how messed up the trophy system is these days thanks to the influx of "EZPZ" games, this would probably just encourage more trophy whore-ish behaviour. I would like to see more customisation options for our profiles. One of the most annoying things about profiles on PS4 is how it displays your music activity on there despite me never accessing Spotify on my console and there's no way to hide it. PS5 should let me decide what I want on there. Maybe we could even have a trophy cabinet much like this site does where we can show off our proudest trophies. It would also be cool if we could display some of our favourite screenshots and videos we've captured on our profiles without having to go through Twitter or whatever. Another thing that bothers me is how the PS4 has a friends list *and* a followers list. Was the latter really necessary? I would like it if PS5 went back to being a gaming platform instead of trying to be social media. Basically, profiles on PS5 should be more like how they are on Steam. On the subject of Steam, PS5 might as well have things like user reviews and wishlists too. I think it would be interesting to be able to look at a friend's profile and find out their opinions on games they've played before you make a decision on whether or not to buy it yourself. Wishlists and the ability to gift friends a game would be a very cool feature too. Better connectivity, response time, etc. It would be great to be able to do Remote Play for PS5 with PC, iOS, and Android like you probably will be able to, but keep Vita, PlayStation TV, and allow the PS4 to remote play PS5 for those of us who will probably have both. I’d also like to be able to upgrade the WiFi as it inevitably changes over the life of the PS5. Those are my realistic things I’d like to see in the PS5. The ability to delete trophies, or to at least hide them from ourselves. I don't want my trophy list bloated with games I didn't like or barely even played. Just the ones that are actually in my personal collection. More customization options in the UI. Free online play (highly unlikely, I know). I believe I shouldn't have to pay extra to access what is a genuine feature of the game. Besides, I personally don't even go online that often, just to get trophies and little else. Why should I have to keep paying for it while I'm not even using it? Backwards compatibility with all Playstation systems. If the PS5 uses the same architecture as the PS4, then playing its games should be a cakewalk. Playing PS1 and PS2 games through software emulation should be a piece of cake for the PS5. The problem is the PS3 and its weird architecture... but they could probably also do it if they really wanted to. This last one is the one I really want. I have to disagree with you on that one, every X1 I've had (including the current X1X) have the most useless UI I've ever experienced. I've transitioned this gen from prioritising the X1 to the PS because I lose it everytime I'm just trying to get into my games and apps and the console has a shit fit. While the blades and NXE were nice, the newer dashboards on the 360 and X1 are horrible, they're littered with ads, and not intuitive in general to do basic functions.
