Popular Post AuroraHistoire
Do You Remember Arcades (Before the Games Turned into Elaborate Gambling for Children)? ~ 198X I completed 198X. The game was a enjoyable experience overall but the story is terrible. The story is just a angsty teen monologing about their mundane problems. Nothing interesting happens in the story. 198X is 5 short games inspired by arcade games that probably came out during the 80s. They're solid games that don't have very much depth to them. The beat 'em up is definitely the worst one. You spam the same button until you win. The side-scrolling space shooter is good and decently challenging. I like how you're able to take 2 hits before you die. There is the OutRun clone that is fun. The best game was the game where you're a ninja that automatically runs really fast to the right and while slashing enemies. It felt like a rhythm game to me. The last game is a strange RPG maze exploration game. You use whatever attack your enemy is weak against and heal when your HP is low until you win. It also gets bonus points for feeling like a game from a terrible gaming related creepypasta. Trophy wise, 198X is challenging but fair. On paper, the trophies look difficult because most of them involve clearing a particular game on 1 life or without getting hit. The games are ten minutes at most, so you don't lose a lot of progress if you mess up. None of the games are unfairly difficult but require memorizing most of the level layouts. The trophy requiring you to kill all the enemies on one life in the side-scrolling space shooter was the most challenging for me. Fortunately, you're allowed to miss a few enemies and still earn the trophy. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Mid-week update from me with Platinum number 141 - Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I absolutely loved this game and as an experience, it came at precisely the right time for me. The ending is a bit divisive for people but for me, I appreciated the direction they went and I can't wait to see what they do with the next game. I feel like this is going to be a game which I come back to every year to play for fun. It's my current contender for personal game of the year. Next up for me is carrying on with Yakuza 5 to knock that out, then who knows. I think i'll aim for a shorter experience considering between Yakuza 5 and FF7 i'm looking at a total of about 200 hours played. I'm also setting up my streaming equipment again from before i moved house. Been meaning to carry on with that for a while now, seems like now it's the perfect time. I hope everyone is keeping safe and well look after yourselves and stay safe. Popular Post DarthMagnus0605
Update #3: It has been a while since I gave my last update but things have been a little crazy in my life. The good news is I managed to make some progress in my list and I added a few new games that I also got to 100% completion on. The last 3 games I finished to 100% was Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Abzu, and the Playroom VR. I really liked Fallen Order for its story and characters but the combat did not have the same snappy responsiveness that Sekiro had. It was still a great game and I am very excited to see what they do with the sequel. Abzu was a beautiful game that I played but felt the need to go back and get the last few trophies in it. A very quick platinum but an underrated game in my opinion. Lastly I wanted to get some exercise during the quarantine so I ended up buying a PSVR to get games like Beat Saber and added it to the list. However, I also beat the Playroom VR which was a fun experience. I am loving the VR right now and there are a lot of games on that platform that I am looking forward to playing. I don't even really have any excuses in terms of time restrictions anymore nowadays since you know what happened, but even while closed, school still finds a way to suck up a lot of my hours. Guess they don't give up that easily. The main cause of my lack of progress so far, however, has been the fact that I decided to go after some of my other backlog games which I can't or won't add to my list for various reasons: Bioshock Spoiler Firstly, playing through Bioshock 2 for this challenge got me into the mood to play the first game again. I still had to complete a run on survivor difficulty with vita chambers disabled in order to get its platinum so I figured I could try to do this alongside my B2 playthrough. At this point I was still planning to use Horizon zero dawn as my 50th platinum but I just really couldn't resist finishing B1 anymore. Even after all this time it's still such a great and addictive game and it's definitely not an undeserved winner of the trophy milestone either. Couldn't add it to my list though since its percentage was already too high and I still have to complete the "speedrun" trophy for the DLC anyway and I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt that shizzle anytime soon. Goat Simulator (I know, don't laugh) Spoiler Since I made plans for my 50th platinum, I had to leave some other games very close to completion when I was sitting at 49. One of these was goat simulator. Not really a great game by any means but definitely not something I regret playing either (especially it being a ps plus game). It's fun to mess around with everything which is kinda what they intended after all and personally I really enjoyed exploring the maps in search for the collectibles as well. Besides that it basically comes down to completing a checklist of some random stuff you have to do in order to earn all the trophies. None of them were particularly difficult in terms of skill (except the flappy bird one, f*ck that one) but for some of them it can be kinda tricky to figure out what you exactly have to do without following a guide. I did earn the platinum so far and I made a bit of progress in the goatz DLC but the Zombie survival kinda threw me off tbh. I have never enjoyed this gamemode to begin with, even in games without clunky controls. Not sure when or if I will return to finish off these DLC, hence why I'm not adding it to my list (yet). Lords of the fallen Spoiler Okay so I don't really have a good explanation tbh for why I started to replay this out of all of my backlog games. I guess I was watching some Dark Souls content on youtube and all of a sudden I realized that I never actually finished this game 2 years ago. I do remember that I really hated this back then but now I have to admit that my opinion on it has evolved a bit after having completed it twice. It's obviously very much inspired by the popularity of the souls series and even though it kinda borrows some of its aspects a bit more blatantly compared to other "souls-likes", it still manages to bring enough stuff to the able in order to have its own identity imo. Fromsoftware didn't invent this particular style after all and it's not a crime to implement certain mechanics into your product that appear to be appreciated by the general populace. I'm not going to go in debt about everything but all in all I feel like it's kinda underappreciated, luckily they did have a bit more succes with "the surge". It has its flaws of course and there are certainly better games to play within the genre but it's absolutely far from a bad game. I would say it's definitely worth a look if you're a fan of these types of games. I'm not going to add this one to my list either though since I do not own the DLC yet and I'd like to wait on a sale (especially since I picked up the main game for less than the current prize of the DLC). If there happens to be a sale on it anytime soon then I might end up adding it to my list after all, if that's allowed of course (percentage before the event started was at 13%). That'll be all for now, again my post turned out to be way bigger than initially intended. I always lose myself in writing these, shame this kind of thing never happens with some of my school assignments ^^. So not much progress on my actual list so far, but I like to think that I'm still working on my backlog a bit by tackling these other games. Helps me sleep at night. Hope everyone here is still doing well so far, definitely keep all the updates coming, it's been a blast to go through them each morning. Something to look forward to everytime! Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, Another update from me. I got the platinum and the 100% in Uncharted 3 this week. The game was enjoyable and even on Brutal not too crazy difficult. It had some frustrating moments, but I was able to finish brutal in 2 days so not too bad in the end. I added Journey to my list because it's free now and there's a lot more players online to get the 100%. I played it 3 times total to get all the trophies and loved it. The last time I played it is 3 years ago and I didn't remember much. I did however want to get back one day to get all the trophies and I finally did it. I keep making good progress on Sekiro. Got some more bosses out of the way and I'm preparing now to get 3 of the endings in one go. Then I'll finish the last level and I'll start up new game + for the last ending. I think it will still take me some time, but I'm confident I can get the platinum before the challenge ends. As for Two Point Hospital I saw there's a new update coming soon so I hope no more crashes! I'll start it up again and try and do everything before the challenge ends... if the game lets me ? 1. Popular Post Xenoblast91
Update 4.3.2: I haven't posted since the beginning of the month, and I think it's time to do so. Along these days, I left my PS4 a while to focus in other backlog which has been literally years stacking dust up. That gave me encouragement, commitment and inspiration to finish this challenge. Sadly, I think that I'll be able to finish just 2 more games before May ends, but allowing myself to finish 5 games isn't pretty bad. I'm looking forward to the Summer challenge to continue with this. I really hope to finish this list ASAP. Anyways, I still have time, and probably I'll try a one that In can speedrun. Returning to FFXV after almost 8 months without touching it, I'm having an absolute blast playing it. Simply, is gorgeous. You can feel how the game transpires that magic. I dn't understand the criticism about the game; may be it's for its battle mechanics, but that isn't the core of the game. It goes beyond that. Almost finished the main story, but there's still a lot to do and finish, and that puts a smile in my face! The DLC is next, and 2 of them are story related, so I feel happy to still continuing to playing it at its fullest. I don't want to dump so easily this wonderful and amazing Square Enix's child. Final Fantasy XV - Completition time, May 31st; 45%➡54% Edit: Finished another DLC, which was really a good complement to the story as a spin-off, and added more depth to the characters and their main ambitions. However, one of those trophies was an absolute pain in the ass. A proud 9% progress in a single day! It's amazing how many small details I missed that I only noticed now, on my sixth(?) playthrough. Of course, the trophies for Ellie's jokes and optional conversations glitched on me. Weirdly enough, it glitches for most on 36/37 conversations, but mine is stuck on 33 even after going back to get the one I know I missed. It doesn't really matter as I still need to go through this game another 3 times for the 100% and I'll surely (hopefully) sort things in that period. I imagine I'll go through Left Behind next before speeding through the Easy+ cleanup stage. I'm also really looking forward to starting up God of War when I can eventually be arsed to fire up my PS3 again. See you around folks!

Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Sunday update time, with a tiny bit of % progress with Yakuza 5 going from 42% - 50% complete. Even though it was a tiny increase, there was quite a bit done in that. I spent some time grinding out combat encounters to use an Shinada's Meteor Tackle ability 50 times for it's corresponding trophy. I did all of the baseball side missions for Shinada, which basically involved a bunch of mini-stories and situations which needed you to pull off certain requirements in a baseball mini-game. And I also completed all of the Cochin Cup rooster racing mini-game requirements for that elusive 100% overall game completion stat. I also finally managed to start streaming again and spent a few hours last night testing out some of my sound while completing some Shinada substories. I was streaming loads and loads for fun about a year or so ago, then I moved house that took up all my time. Feel free to come say hi at https://www.twitch.tv/crispyoglop. I'm actually considering combining my backlog list with what i stream to motivate me even more. Popular Post GraniteSnake
I did it. Popped my first ever platinum, exactly 10 years later on the very same day. I only wish I had connected my console to the internet earlier, I've actually been playing PS3 since 2008 (me and my brother picked one up shortly after the release of Metal Gear Solid 4). I had a great time revisiting what is probably my favourite AC game (I'll know the answer for sure after I get around to playing Brotherhood/Revelations again). I was surprised at how much of the story I actually remembered considering I only played through it in full the one time. Ezio remained as charismatic and likeable as ever, and the present day story was engaging and streets ahead of the terribly boring computer hacking shit that came after ACIII. The controls were a little off, but thankfully I have the back button attachment so I could control the camera while free-running and while on horseback + while in combat. You need to hold as well as to parkour in this game, something that was inevitably changed in future entries. As far as the trophy list goes it was extremely easy, borderline 1/10 difficulty wise. Even the infamous feathers weren't much of a problem to collect this time around. I guess back in the day I was not used to finding collectables so it seemed quite daunting then, which is simply not the case anymore. I also forgot just how much I enjoyed the soundtrack to this game, the following is one of my favourite video-game tracks of all time: Next up, I'm thinking of starting Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I'll try to finish off Killzone: Shadow Fall first, need to beat the game on Elite mode for my final trophy (Hard difficulty with only 3 lives for the entire campaign). I'm also still grinding Fortnite, reached 800 Play With Other's last night so less than 200 to go. Will hopefully be able to nab that trophy within a week or two. Until next time! Sorry, kind of became more inattentive when things went to hell. Completely understandable. Thanks for adding me. I only just noticed too as I haven't had much time for gaming when things went to hell. I lost of a whole month and a half of the backlog challenge!! I'm continuing my horror game marathon from last year and I finished three more games since my post so I might as well update.
