23 posts in this topic

Looking for recommendations on fun or good Japanese vita games, VN's etc, that are playable on vita in English. Looking to expand my library a bit.

Thanks!

Shoot, I got mine for 30$ less on ebay than the ps4 version. Plus if you played Gundam Breaker 1 or 2 you can import your MS. But I did buy mine like 2 years ago. I want to say there is an SD gundam game with english dubs and menus. It's hard to kep track, I have every Gundam Vita game. The worst being the dynasty warriors one due to the massive grind.

@SnowxSakura I've been browsing ebay to see if I could find you a decent priced Gundam Breaker 3 on the vita an it looks like the prices went up a lot. There is a bid on one for less than 5$ usd . Maybe bid on that one. It's crazy, I looked at how much I spent on my copy and I bought it for 20$ usd brand new.

Make sure to get the Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition, it has all the DLC on cart.

Cheapest one I see on there is 39 usd plus 10 usd shipping for cart only. I can buy a brand new ps4 copy for 43.99 with free shipping

The ps4 version should be fine, but the vita version is perfect for its release. And yeah like @grifteskymfning says, get the breaker edition. The dlc really is great. Honestly though, 39usd isn't that bad for a game that will last you at least 60 hours with great customization options and constantly forces you to try new gear. It's a grind but an actual fun grind.

Do you need any prior breaker games or the gundam universe, to enjoy this game?.

Depends on if you're a collector or not. I wouldn't be able to justify spending 49 dollars on just a cart when I could buy the ps4 version factory sealed for less

Oh its cart only? Yeah I feel you on the collector thing, I'm not picky with vita games, only steelbooks. I know my copy was factory sealed. I did find you a cheaper one on play asia.

Well, another game that's semi english (minus dialogue and a few menus) is there Berserk game on vita. I played it on ps4 and you barely need a translation for it. The cutscene are in Japanese but menues are easy to navigate. And I personally love the game so I have the NA version on ps4 for any story stuff I'm missing. My vita version plays the exact same. I wish Dragon Quest Heroes 2 was in english though lol.

I got Gundam Breaker 3 in English on Vita off Ebay for $20. As long as you look in the right places you can find anything.

Also, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is also a great English Vita game. I had a lot of fun with it even though it’s pretty much just a softcore porn...

That's where I was getting the price from. The cheapest vita copy was the cart only for 39.99, and sealed copies are over 70 usd, compared to the 43.99 sealed copy for ps4

If looking in English I would recommend scanning through sites that sell imports like PlayAsia you don't have to but the games from them obviously but they usually have an option to sort games if they have English subs

Will give ya an easier time of finding some new games besides what people recommend

There is Super Robot Wars V and Super Robot Wars X.  Both games are turn-based RPGs.  Personally, I prefer V over X for the simple fact that I was not liking the story in X.

Then there's Bullet Girls Phantasia which is a hack-n-slash.  Story is alright.  Only potential "issue" with this game would be the fact that it is very sexualized and may be offensive to some people.

If all else fails you could check out the Digimon games.  While I know that they have been released in the US, Digimon Cyber Sleuth has been removed from the US PS Store.  I prefer this game to its completely unnecessary sequel Hacker's Memory (which is still available in the US store)

I apologize, I didnt read all the posts, but it is quite random, every now and then you can find a copy for dirt cheap, I got my copy about 8 months ago for cheap, but you are right, as of right now they seem to be pretty pricey.

I spent $16 on a cartridge for a non-JP title and almost blew a casket, so I cant even fathom spending almost $50.

Is Bullet Girls, loli-based? Cuz, I can see how that would offend people.

On another note, thanks for the suggestions. I may get one of those.

Not loli-based but a core mechanic of the game is destructive clothing, with some costumes already revealing before that even happens. Hence why over-sexualized and possibly offensive to some people. Basically if you played games like the Senran Kagura Series you may like it.

Sounds like Akiba's Trip. I will look into it.

Not a single game mentioned in this thread has proper English support in their JPN releases. The games you're talking about are either Asian or Hong Kong releases.

Some actual JPN games with English support from the top of my head are Skullgirls, Orgarhythm and Dokuro, non of which are really great. Also the stack of A Rose In The Twilight which does not require dialog.

There's also A.W Pheonix Festa, but you'll be looking to spend around 200ish dollars for it since it got delisted

Lord_Bane pretty much hit the nail on the head.  Around the time of release some people were quite upset about the fact that the game had destructive clothing.  I've never played Akiba's Trip, but I believe it is similar.  I know that the grind for getting everything in Bullet Girls is at least 100 hours.
