Edit: just saw one of the trophies specifically says it requires 8 players. I thought this game could be solo'd even though it's an MMO. Since that's not the case this will probably be a pass from me.

Firstly, whatever dlcs that were released in year 1 are indeed free within the $3 standard edition.

the year 1 season pass was just a 7 days early access to every major dlc + few classified missions(ain't important for the plat), that's all.

 

Secondly,

the 8man coop raid trophy is part of a dlc, and wont stop you from getting the plat.

Also, Their's matchmaking on discovery difficulty for it too, incase ne1 wants go for the 100%

 

The level 1-30 experience of the game in itself,

is well worth $60 too, as stated by all the reviews when in came out

and rightfully so.

The critisism started later, due to the game's changing end game content, which is a very common thing for any live service mmorpg  games.

thr are downfalls but then they rise back up as well,

with several patches and updates according to user feedback.

Atleast the game's base experience was termed as one of the most polished games at launch in recent times.

Nerfing and Buffing guns/gears on any rpg,

always has adverse effects on the player base,

and so did with div2 too.

But hopefully the next Season(the paid dlc available to preorder as of this time) shall be a bigger and bolder step towards the game being Great again.

+ even if you don't buy the dlc,

they shall implement a big patch along with the DLC's release to fix a lot of things,

which indeed would be a great step towards gaining back the player base.

The best thing is,

they are letting new users to experience the 9/10 rated game for merely $3,

and incase you love the genre,

hoping to get on board full fledged and buy the dlc for season 2 too.
